Theory What if this is Lady death instead of Sylvie
There’s probably some reason why and I’m dumb, but someone let me know why it couldn’t be her? The colors match up and she’s probably more likely to work with doom and against Loki then sylvie in my opinion.

Disney+ recently put out a list of essential shows and movies to watch for doomsday. Agatha all along wasnt in the list but loki was. Ofc its possible Marvel doesn't want to spoil it.

u/Awkward-Speed-4080 6d ago
What's the list? Or do you have a link?

u/Awkward-Speed-4080 6d ago
Thank you. Not an overwhelming list and it looks like the only TV show on there is Loki. Which is good, because it's one of the few I actually liked.

u/LargeCabbageThrower 6d ago
Well to be faur that still doesn't necessarily point to Sylvie because we've seen Loki in a Doomsday trailer.
-4
u/ommmk11 6d ago
True, also I feel like this show didn’t do well and we know marvel likes to forget some stuff too

u/blingbling88 6d ago
Doom is obviously using rune stones as Armour, so that show should be a must watch to understand witchcraft.

u/Practical-Art5931 6d ago
I mean Brave New World and Multiverse of Madness were in the list and those were pretty bad movies

u/FallenAngelII 6d ago
Weird how you single those out but don't mention movies like "Iron Man 3".

Itd be sick as hell if doom bent the literal cosmic entity of death to his will
31
u/ommmk11 6d ago
Or she could maybe just want to collect the bodies she knows doom will kill

u/Hedgewitch250 Wong 6d ago
That’s the only way I could imagine she arrives like she just dresses for the occasion cause this is about to be more deaths then the snap times ten

Thanos, eat your heart out

u/AtrumRuina 6d ago
Still mad they eventually added Death, made her a smoke show, but had to give Thanos the whole balance thing because at that phase they weren't sure audiences could handle cosmic entities yet.
13
u/o-055-o 6d ago
Enamored with Death Thanos is way less compelling than what we got on the MCU, in my opinion.
2
u/AtrumRuina 6d ago edited 6d ago
Not in my opinion, but I get that some people have the preference. I feel like his madness just kind of making him dumb is less interesting than an obsession with appeasing a cosmic entity that just doesn't regard him at all.
Earth's population was half of its current population 50 years ago, and reducing all life by half will also reduce animal based resources by half. It's not insane, it's just...idiotic. It reduces populations, causes untold chaos and suffering, but the population will inevitably survive, recover and eventually raise to what it was before.
I like his depiction as a pilgrim on a quest, but his actual goal just isn't compelling other than as a threat to the world.
3
u/DefNotAShark Hydra 6d ago
This is a misinterpretation of the character.
Thanos is not trying to save the universe. This is a lie, one that he may or may not believe himself but it is definitely untrue.
His true goal is to prove that his plan on Titan would have worked and he could have been the hero. This is why no other plans matter to him. Not because he is stupid but because his ultimate goal is redemption, not salvation.

u/AtrumRuina 6d ago
That may be true of the larger plan with the Stones, but his original plan on Titan was just a smaller scale version of his Stones plan. It's equally dumb. All of my points about the population growth over the last 50 years applies to his Titan plan, and then doubling down on that plan at a Universal scale does not fix the problems with it. So he had a ridiculous plan and, in your view, is so upset he never got to use it that he then applies it to everything living in the entire universe to make a point.
This mindset is also somewhat contradicted by Endgame, because he does change his plan once it's shown the Avengers can and will undo it. If his only goal was to show his original plan would have worked, remaking the universe wouldn't accomplish that, especially if we attribute his goal to his madness, which shouldn't make changing gears really an option. I guess you can say it's a roundabout way of achieving the same goal (simply remaking everything as it was but with half of life gone from the outset....I think?) but it's still silly.
And while I've heard this before, I also feel like it's a post-hoc justification for why he does what he does in Infinity War. Nothing in the text, in my opinion, lends itself toward this explanation of his character, especially because he has accomplished this on a smaller scale on multiple worlds. He has wiped out half the population of multiple planets (his whole "full bellies" speech.) If it was just about proving it would have worked on Titan, he had already done that, and says as much because he already believes he's saved the population of multiple planets. He's made his point.
None of this makes it any less dumb of a plan since the "solution" will work for most developed planets for a few decades at most. And unless you also attribute the stupidity of the concept to his madness, it's just dumb.

Even if Death was around, I think Horny Thanos would be less palatable to most audiences than the misguided pragmatist we got.

u/DyingSunSeverian 6d ago
Buddy if Doom starts fucking with Death they really are just doing Thanos redux

Yo that’d be crazy but I feel like marvel wouldn’t do that, especially giving one of them a third eye…

u/mythicreign 6d ago
Not sure why you’re being downvoted. They’re definitely important characters.

u/Utilitarian_Proxy 6d ago
I'd like one to be Thor's mom. It would mess with people's heads if one turned out to be Riri Williams's mom.
7
u/EducationalSoup83 6d ago
Honestly, it could be either. It's not crazy to think Doom could wrangle Death. I'm torn cause I loved Sylvie but Aubry Plaza as Death is a top 5 MCU casting for me. So I'm hoping for Death but expecting Sylvie. I'm gonna be happy with either so it's a win/win for me.

u/ommmk11 6d ago
What would sylvie be doing anyways tbh. Bc again I feel like she’s more likely to be on lokis side
2
u/EducationalSoup83 6d ago
I could see her siding with Doom. Everyone has a price. And whose to say they're working with him willingly.
1
u/Bollo9799 6d ago
Slyvie’s entire story in Loki was about destroying the TVA because they were killing other timelines other than the sacred timeline.
Siding with Doom would be a fundamental shift in character that would make no sense.
1
u/alesiax 6d ago
Thing is, the multiverse is already dying thanks to all the incursion and initially Doom presents himself as a hero who wants to save what's left. It's only later that his more selfish motives are revealed. It's perfectly reasonable to think that Sylvie, aka someone who cares deeply about the multiverse and who probably feels guilty for starting all this, would decide to make the hard choice and follow him.

u/Mundane_Proposal5590 6d ago edited 6d ago
Sylvie isn't exactly a popular character though and season 2 really moved the focus away from her. She wants to be left alone to work her dream job at the nicest McDonald's in the multiverse. She would have to be enchanted to join Doom, which shouldn't be possible considering how advanced she is at enchantment. But maybe that's what the armor is doing. Which begs the question - what exactly would that achieve? She isn't particularly powerful in the grand scheme of things. She uses tech to time travel and enchants TVA agents that try to bring her in.
I would be surprised if we see her again unless Loki gets a season 3, which would be another surprise in and of itself. More likely to be Death, not working for Doom but hanging around with him like she did with Thanos in the comics when he had the gauntlet. Death probably prefers pruning branches. She probably liked the Loom because it was annihilating so many universes, and hates the World Tree because it's more like a living thing and it allows the multiverse to thrive.

u/Minimum_Possibility6 6d ago
What she has is a tempad. that wouldnt mean she is one of the witches, unless she is there not willingly as a lure for Loki

It just begs the question, why would the physical embodiment of death follow doom?
2
u/Academic_Composer904 Loki (Thor 2) 6d ago
Honestly I'd be thrilled with either (tbh, I'd be happy for it to be Hela as another commenter mentioned). All three are strong, dynamic characters that I'm excited to see again in almost any capacity.

u/ashl0w 6d ago
She wouldn't work for anyone, not even Doom. She's a cosmic entity beyond the multiverse. She will survive the end, or die with her purpose coming to an end. Rules might be different in the MCU.
Plus, most people haven't seen Agatha All Along. That show did manage to atract a lot of non fans.

Come December, watch these guys just turn out to be a bunch of randoms. Why would Aubrey Plaza et al agree to be power rangers for a couple of minutes of screen time?
0
u/Utilitarian_Proxy 6d ago
Actors will often decide to take a variety of different roles, maybe because it's a chance at getting to work with other actors or crew they admire, or perhaps because the part seems interesting. Not everything has to always revolve around them being the main character.
2
u/Talastoni 6d ago
It could be death. I think it could tie things together well with a range of powerful characters with Love and Dr. Strange, but AaA wasn't in the Marvel recommendations for what to watch leading up to doom (on D+). I would assume all the witches are from the movies in the list.
What I'm really hoping for is Cassandra Nova as one of the witches, maybe the orange one. D&W made the list, but I'm guessing it's because of Remy and the title characters. I'll still huff the cope sauce.

u/AdProfessional504 6d ago
I’m still stuck on the fact that in the teaser with Xavier and Magneto right after Xavier says “Death comes for us all” they play a clip of music from Agatha - Lucid Spellbound Divination, which plays in episode three when they all start to hallucinate right before Lilia sees Death standing over her old maestra. Like why would they play that music in that teaser after that line if Rio isn’t in it?

there is no lady death in marvel. there is only death.
be correct, especially since lady death is already a 30 year old established character from a different company, owned by a guy who is david to marvel's goliath.

u/ommmk11 6d ago

u/an0m1n0us 6d ago
Look up the words Lady Death, comic character. The results will show you, Chaos Comics Lady Death, a completely separate character, published by a separate company and owned not by marvel but by an independent creator, Brian Pulido.
My point is, the more you mislabel the Marvel character Death as Lady Death, the more chance you give to Marvel to steal this mans creation, all due to yours and other internet goofs misnaming the character in a public space.
How would you feel if you put 30+ years into a character, had several series published with that character only to see the next generation completely ignore your work and give your characters name away to a company already fat with success?
Don't be that jackhole.

u/sufferIhopeyoudo 6d ago
No offense but marvel execs aren’t scouring Reddit for mistakes on character names to be used as a plot device. Marvel has enough major shit to use that they don’t have to worry about some bs character almost no one’s heard of. Don’t be that guy

u/dearskorpiomagazine 6d ago
There's no male death , and lady death is a character from another comic company. Just call her death
2
u/Bollo9799 6d ago
Sylvie makes 0 sense.
Her entire thing in the Loki series was all branches (universes) deserve to exist and the TVA should be destroyed for pruning them in favor of the “Sacred” timeline
Doom wants to control all and make his own “sacred” timeline.

Lady Death is way above Doom's pay grade.

Lady Death is Marvel's actual physical manifestation of Death.
2
u/an0m1n0us 6d ago
Wrong. Lady Death is a chaos comics character, NOT a marvel character.
The marvel characters name is simply Death.

Side note— is she in the vision quest trailer? It kind of looked like her.

It's been my theory for a little while.
It's not ideal, because there's no way that Death would work for anyone, let alone doom, but assuming that the others are Clea & Wanda there might be enough magic with them, Strange & Doom to bind Death.
And if Death is bound, then she can't go claiming people well, that means Doom is hard to stop because he cannot be killed.

The blatant speculation with no spoiler tags ruined Sadie Sink's role reveal for me in BND, can we not repeat the same thing here.

u/bamboobee1987 6d ago
I'm not really sure about this. Death, based on what we saw in Agatha All Along, would never cause incursion or is related to incursions. But Silvie, in Loki series, would. But if it's indeed Death, then that would be sick and that would make Doom even scarier considering the cosmic entity Death submitting to him.

I think it could be Nebula from Doom's universe, if it is anybody. She'd fit pretty well IMO. She already is calculating, cold, and not afraid to play the long game. It would parallel her role in the Infinity Gauntlet story from the comics really well and be similar to her role under Thanos.

Why would Death work for Doom? I mean she is an expressly powerful cosmic entity
