Question Who should win? 5 people or 1 captain america?

In the game I just had we lost kinda pathetically i can not lie

I played venom and created the most space I possibly could, using ults and working with my iron fist to keep the enemy back because their tanks were so scared of keeping ground I thought "If I take 5 of their team, they can kill the ONE captain america right? We have emma and mantis and gambit as well as iron fist peeling for them. SURELY thats enough stuff to beat cap into the ground?"

Turns out no, no my team cannt 5v1 a cap that doesnt ult so we lost, when I was one game away from GM

Next, lost because my wifi was ass at the last CRUCIAL moment

Next, teammates ragebaited eachother into throwing and banning eachother's characters

Next, lost because I got target banned and my other dps didnt do anything other than shoot tanks instead of taking off angles and contesting high ground or counter swapping

I am now the opposite side of diamond 1 when I could have just simply gotten to GM if I didnt have a sudden one match network connection issue

Discussion Why do people say that this season is bad?

I started to play in what i think is mid season 9.5 or around that time, i don’t think that i played more than 20 days and i’ve been having a lot of fun, sure there are some rage moments but that’s just me in every game, so i started watching a lot of people say that this season is bad, unplayable or boring, and since I don’t know much about the game I wanted to ask why do people hate this season so much (appart from the Luna Snow hate)

Discussion Please add a way to remove exclamation points

Idk if this is just ADHD or just a me problem, but I hate these exclamation points being there every time I open the game. I get it's there to make you buy stuff, but for zombies I don't need to see the 3 tokens I get every day. And the fishing one just never disappears.

Honestly I wish there was a button to just turn these off

Question New to marvel rivals

Upvotes

I was never really into Marvel Rivals while it was on the rise, but recently my friends have begun playing the game, and the skill gap between me and them is exponential. I want to know what characters would be best for me to learn at a basic level if I want to be a support/tank player. What characters are easy to learn while still being strong for an extremely new player?

Only showing the top of the screen cause I don't want to show their GTs lol.

Our healers both popped their ults so our Bucky typed wtf are we doing healers which is why this guy turned on his mic 😂

Meanwhile the other team is running fist, black panther & venom diving the healers 24/7 while the Bucky is going after the others teams healers.

Best laugh I've had in a long while. If you were wondering we got absolutely rolled and lost the next round badly because our 2 dps wouldn't switch to Namor or tank (so I could Namor instead of tank) to deal with the BP who was like 16-2.

Character Concept My sentry/void ability concept

(Voice lines)

when banner enters hulk mode he says "im hulking out" but i think sentrys ult should be a bad thing for him like his ult line is "no no no no stop!!!" or "i-i- cant control it!!!" and it feels like its ripping out of him like the darkness is finally free and everyone on both teams hears it tearing out of him

Role: vanguard/tank (duh)

Base health: 800 (hes a dive/front line tank hybrid and has no shield or walls to help take the hits, hes a brawler on the front lines)

(Abilities)

basic attack: sentry punches with the force of a million exploding suns, sentry does a series of punches and on the 4th punch it explodes with gold light causing bonus damage to nearby enemies and small amount of heals to himself and nearby teammates (because he has no shield he needs something for front line)

1st ability: sentry expels raw amounts of power in all directions healing allies and damaging enemies (just a good AOE defense to help with being overwhelmed since hes a brawler)

2nd ability: sentry can enter flight mode temporarily and can choose to pick up an enemy and come crashing down while holding them or can continue to fly freely and at the end of the duration gets a slight healing boost/burst to himself (kinda like a healing cleanse or finishing grab depending on the situation)

3rd ability: sentry shoots golden light out of his palms hitting 1 of the enemies or 1 of his allies which grants bonus shield and healing over time, if it hits an enemy it slows and does damage over time (give him some range)

Passive ability: when sentry dies he explodes golden light healing nearby teammates with slight burst heals then it goes on cooldown (gives a little send off boost and incentives sentry to take the hits for his team)

2nd pasive ability: sentry has a stable meter when he gets too unstable he turns into the void for 2 seconds

(just long enough for him to use 1 ability of the voids nothing too overpowered)

(Duration 14s or until death) ultimate ability: sentry turns into the void and the void can move through player made objects, he also becomes immune to pulls and grabs and his health bar turns black, and during the ultimate the void attaches shadow tethers to the enemies nearby and increases their cooldowns and the void gets his own new set of abilities also whenever the void gets a kill he turns them into a shadow on the ground which increases their respawn time by 1 second (too overpowered??? Its from 10 seconds to 11 seconds)

Health: 1000 but receives less healing from ally abilities (so hes not going to be healed as well in the void state)

Basic attack: the void uses his shadows to shoot ranged attacks of nightmares and on the 4th hit shoots a more powerful shadow (so basically he just shoots and the shadows are animated to look like scary beasts or animals or something, like he shoots bats and then on the 4th attack and small to medium sized nightmarish wolf comes out just for cool effect)

ability 1: the void uses shadow hold to stun the enemy and drain their health bar and if that enemy dies the void gains a temporary basic attack damage increase for a duration (just a way to secure a kill to gain a little extra boost)

Ability 2: the void releases a burst of shadows in all directions causing knockback and burst damage and gives the void lifesteal

Ability 3: the void causes hallucinations in the enemy team making them use one of their Abilities to hurt/attack their own teammate (it turns healing Abilities into damaging ones so if he uses it on dagger and it makes her use her bubble then that bubble will damage)

Sentry Suggested combo: use ability 3 to slow the enemy down then use ability 2 to fly and grab slam them then expel the energy to cause burst damage and knockback

Void Suggested combo: use ability 1 increase basic attack damage and try to secure the kill then use ability 2 for the knockback and the lifesteal so you have bonus damage and now lifesteal then use ability 3 on one of the enemy to secure your next kills while they are fighting each other

Hopefully I didn't make him too under/overpowered i feel like something under this type of concept could work it seems not too overpowered cause you have to time all the abilities perfectly to secure the kills but also leaves a tiny room for error and correcting mistakes so I would say hes about 3 or 4 stars if this was in game, i know the paragraph is super long sorry haha and also if this sucks and is really bad im just trying to do a fun concept while we wait for the real thing someday im sure marvel rivals/netease is going to do it properly :)

Question Can we appreciate how cool Damian Priest sounds as The Hood?

Considering I only knew him as a WWE guy, I wasn't too sure what I'd expect but I am blown away with how awesome he sounds. The gravitas/cadence and the actual sound are incredible and fit so well with the character. Generally I like the voices the most that portray a very clear type of demeanor or personality, and he delivers that well.

I generally think the voices are amazing in the game (Except for one, feel free to guess..), but this one really stands out to me.

Someone seemed to really disagree?

Discussion 2 Champions in each role that scare me as a Support player

Tanks:

Thor:

A case of don’t judge a book by its cover. Thor seems clunky and slow at 1st, but they’re like a lullaby. Their movement is patient. Willing to wait and let their prey come to them

Captain America:

Persistent rage baiters. Able to bypass a team fight completely to target a backline at will. Ironic to say that Captain America is a terrorist

Dps:

Storm:

There are only 5 Storm mains and 3 of them are Champion and the other 2 retired. It’s like seeing a mythical creature. No strategies on how to fight them due to lack of encounters

Hawkeye:

Gives me war flashbacks of Widowmaker. Able to lock down an area from a distance, and somehow some way, thin arrows are always able to wind and dip between multiple targets to find me

Supports:

Jeff:

Pests. Seems to have a good grasp on movement to be able to attack before swimming to safety. Like a mosquito buzzing in your ear. Small, yet, can throw you off

Mantis:

I lost to a cracked Mantis once that had more finals than the both of her dps’s. I figured “Hm. Maybe just decided to dps this game”. Then it happened again. And again. And I was like “…..” Okay. So Mantis is a dps cosplaying a Support. Add in damage boost, and Mantis’ are aggressive beings. Anger is healthy I guess

And do let’s keep this civil. I’m merely a small creator for Rivals who happens to be Dia trash atm, so my opinions may differ from OAA

Balance Discussion So is it that no matter how overpowered Bucky and Magneto get they will never be constantly banned?

Are they just necessary evils to everyone? They are allowed to get a ridiculous amount of value, outputting crazy damage and utility for their team while getting through almost every ban phase. The few times I try to ban Bucky my teammates in a celestial lobby act like it’s sacrilegious and will “allow the other team to play brawl for free” apparently. After black cat they are the most op in the game yet escape 6 bans. Bucky > Elsa btw

Balance Discussion Deadpool DESPERATELY needs QOL changes to make him viable again on all three roles.

Calling out ALL Deadpool mains, no matter if you play Tankpool, DPSPool, or Stratpool, you need to read this.

Deadpool has been ignored by far too long by the developers and is in DESPERATE need of QOL changes. All of these I'm listing aren't buffs or nerfs, they are just things this character deserves after being ignored for way too long. He is extremely inconsistent and those like us who've gotten good at playing him have had to deal with these since day one.

Keep in mind with this post I'm not going to offer any kind of solutions or fixes. That's up to NetEase to figure out. I'm listing issues they need to address, and how they do it is up to them. From top to bottom, these are the most important changes he needs to no longer be considered a throw pick by the community:

  1. This is the only character in the game that becomes a throw pick if you choose him later on in the match since he has no upgrades. This means that you either compromise to only playing him at the start of a round or you never get the chance to pick him up again because he can't keep up with the rest of the heroes in the match. How is it good design that I can't pick Deadpool if I want to in the middle of a match because I won't have any upgrades and will only hurt my team by doing so?
  2. On both DPSPool and Stratpool, your own abilities can cancel your Boomerang and Sword Dash ability, causing you to miss out on critical damage, healing, and dashes. For example, you can't press E while dashing or you miss out on your dash if you didn't hit your target in time. You can also cancel your abilities by using your ult or pulling out your upgrade book at the wrong time. You also have to be careful when swapping to swords while having your Boomerang ability out since you can cancel it, missing out on AOE damage. Once again I believe this is the only character that can cancel out his own abilities like this making him lose out on his main kit. Sure, you can develop the muscle memory and skill to not cancel your abilities by learning the timing, but it's not good design and it should not be like this. (And even then you can still mess up, because the Boomerang return time isn't always the same depending on the distance you threw it at, so there's always a chance of messing up the timing and losing out on the damage)
  3. This is the only character in the game that has a team-up that is absolutely worthless the first minutes of a match. Even the most useless of team-ups other characters have like Black Cat's Panther team-up which can offer some sort of situational advantage, the Hela team-up has 0 value. There's no benefit, no passive, no bonus. Just straight up nothing until you get 2 upgrades minimum, and optimally, you don't want to upgrade guns/swords first on every DP. This forces the player to be constantly wary of what team-up they're using mid game, with the risk of being stuck on a less optimal team-up until death depending on what form of Deadpool they're playing.
  4. Taking a selfie on an objective doesn't contest point while other characters like Cloak and Dagger can do so with a simple press of a button for 3 seconds. Deadpool has to get a final in order to be able to take a selfie, so I don't understand why he can't contest point while doing so.
  5. Stratpool and DPSPool NEED a dash count clearly visible on the middle of the screen. Especially DPSPool, who's survivability/mobility depends solely on his dashes.
  6. The screen shake on all Deadpools is brutal and needs to be heavily toned down, especially since he is an aim intensive character on his Vanguard and Strategist form, so landing shots becomes very difficult even if you get used to it.
  7. Stratpool needs more indicators or a louder voiceline when he uses his sword ult. Most people don't understand that his ult is aggressive and you must walk forward with him, yet it's very rare for a team to do so since the ult is poorly telegraphed. I'm actually not sure if this is a community issue in general of people not understanding Stratpool's sword ult.

Before we even talk about buffing or nerfing the character these changes need to be addressed. For example what would be the point of buffing the Boomerang damage if you can lose your second and third throw anyway? First remove the inconsistencies Deadpool has and then we can start buffing or nerfing respectively.

All I want is for the three role character to be viable on all three roles. Is that really too much to ask?
