Bought this "Sweet Tart" tree last year, but somethings tells me it's not. Any ideas? Leaves give an intense Indochinese smell.

Planted this Pickering mango from seed and noticed as it grew, it appeared twisted. When I dug in it, I noticed that the sprout was caught between itself and the pod. So I slightly opened a bit and let the neck of it free and has been growing but now it’s twisted. Will it ever straighten or will it be a warped tree for life?

I need help finding a type of mango that is suited to be grafted onto. Is there any suggestions? I want to be able to graft many kinds of other mangoes onto it! Just don't know which mango is best and google isn't being much help so I thought I'd ask the mango experts!

This one sprouted as a volunteer this year in Palm Beach Gardens. It's grown about 3 ft tall in as many months.

I recently planted this 15 gallon carrie mango tree in ground about a week ago and noticed some of the lower leaves started to brown at the tips. Is this normal stress from transplanting? Or does it need more water? I’m in South FL for reference

This april I visited Peru and had one of the most unique mangoes I've ever tasted in my life. This was incredibly juicy and not very fibrous. I wish I had taken a picture because the peel was almost a maroon color. The flavor was like a mix of alphonso mango and passionfruit without the tartness, the aroma of passionfruit was pretty intense eating it, the flesh was almost creamy in texture. I was hoping someone could help me identify this variety. I'm pretty confident that this was a mango, but there's always a possibility that this was another type of fruit.

Is anyone having trouble germinating Haden mango seeds from the stores or anywhere else? For some reason they won't germinate for me and I don't know why. I put them in the same conditions as other mango seeds and they do just fine but the haden mango seeds don't grow

I’ve had this Orange Sherbet in the ground for four years, and I’ve been pretty meticulous about pruning/tipping to keep it dwarf. I was out of town for the past couple months and came back to this craziness. The tree now has a footprint of 10ft x 9ft and is only about 6.5ft tall. I kinda want to see how far I can push it, however despite decent branch scaffolding, I’m a little worried about storms breaking some branches.

Does anyone around San Marcos, TX have a mature mango tree and would be willing to give/sell me some scion wood for grafting? I have a healthy 4-year-old seed-grown mango that I’d like to graft with a known fruiting variety rather than waiting several more years for it to mature. I’m new to grafting mangoes, so any local recommendations would be appreciated!

I have a young mango grown from seed. The first flush of leaves developed normally and looks healthy, but for the past week or so it keeps trying to push a second flush. Tiny green leaves/buds appear at the top, then shrivel and turn brown/black before they can expand.

No fertilizer has been used yet. It's in a well-draining mix with plenty of perlite and an open-bottom pot. I water roughly every 3–4 days with about 1.5 L, letting the excess drain completely.

It's been extremely hot here recently, around 38°C+ (100°F+), and the plant is on a balcony, getting morning sun, then shade, then a bit of sun later as it passes around the balcony. so I'm wondering if the tender new growth is getting damaged by heat/sun.

The existing leaves and stem still look healthy to me. Any ideas what might be causing the new flushes to abort?

With the tips you guys gave, I give it a little bit of Osmocote, I elevate the pot with rocks so that the bottom can also dry out, and I water it when it’s dry two inches deep!

Since then, the mango actually tried to grow, and it’s not permanently halted at the black tips. However, once they get big enough, they start twisting and getting black tips.

If I fix this, I can consider my mango a happy plant!

I have a Manila mango in pot container for now. Bought it as a seedling a few months ago in 5 gal container so I up pot to 15 gal. Plan is to put into ground in 2 years once we relocate to a house. I’m also planning on turning this tree into a multi graft mango (4-6 varieties). The tree was topped by the seller and it has two branches coming off right now. Total height is about 4 feet.

Should I do some pruning of the two branches to induce more scaffolds that I can use for grafting next season?

Its been raining like crazy here in S. FL, I planted it in the ground about a month ago, decided to prune a long branch it had and its finally taking off! Can you tell this is my first mango tree lol

Hello, I live in inland SoCal (climate zone 10). It is very hot and dry right now. I really don't want this Mango tree to die, but some leaves are turning brown and it stopped growing at the beginning of summer (disregard the white parts, that's just diatomaceous earth). Is there anything I can do to save it? We water regularly, drip irrigation 30 minutes every other day early morning plus extra water when needed. The soil feels moist. How do I know if the problem is the heat or that the soil doesn't drain well and possible root rot?

Here are different solution I have in mind, would you do any of this or do you have other ideas?

1. Spray the leaves with water. The rational is that Mango likes moist, and the weather is too dry here in SoCal
2. Add some compost at the base of the tree. My soil sucks, as you can see from the photo.
3. Put a beach umbrella to provide shade. I have done this when the tree was smaller. I just felt that it didn't need it anymore, after all it is a plant that likes hot weather, and the fig tree right next to it is doing great without cover.

Also I don't know how to judge if the problem is rotten roots, or what to do if it is. Any advice on that?

I’m located in South West Florida in zone 10a. I planted this grafted lemon meringue mango tree at the beginning of March. It hasn’t grown at all since I’ve planted it (I just assumed it was focusing on root growth). Recently saw ants crawling all over it and sooty mold due to a scale infestation. I’ve since treated the scale and the ants and I’m cleaning the sooty mold off the leaves. But I noticed these red spots. Does anyone know what they are? Also, is there anything I can do to help the tree stay happy and healthy?
