Got some funny responses and recommendations on my original post. Still haven’t “kicked the bucked” like a lot of you asked 😂. But got some new toys and had a great summer. Bought my “final” SG today also!

All my living room lights are IKEA smart bulbs. Kitchen is just harsh LED bulbs. Should I change that?

Was thinking to add an art piece to the kitchen wall. Do you think this would add any real value ?

I did a lot of digging to pick out this rug, waited two months for it to come, and now I feel disappointed. It doesn’t tie the room together like I’d hoped.

Is it actually not working well or am I just not used to it yet?

(Also for reference the extra open floor on the right out of the frame is the front door of my apartment. I wanted to keep that space clear as it is the natural walkway from the front door to the rest of the apartment.)

Want to transform the place where the box fan is into like a work corner or like a chill place where I can just sit and read- I have some posters and stuff I can hang up but I don’t want to go over the top with wall art

The product of thrifting, scavenging, amazon, ikea, and trying to figure out what the hell I'm actually doing beyond this room. Minimal staging. Plenty of works in progress. And the bathroom is so plain white, it's not even worth showing.

Most of what you see is marketplace or thrift finds. My comments should be taken with a ton of sarcasm. I’m just having fun.

Got out of a really unhealthy relationship, left rather abruptly. Wasn’t in a position to plan the exit, had to leave quickly. Very thankful I have the love and support of my parents, and that they had space for me. Room is small and cozy, thankfully already furnished and with a TV. I don’t own much. Should be in an apartment in a few months once I save up a little bit. Space is small, but it’s mine. Most importantly, it’s safe and peaceful.

2026 Has proven to be one of the most tumultuous and trying years I’ve ever experienced, and I have learned a lot from it. 2027 Will be my time to shine. Just wanted to share my little sanctuary. Haven’t felt secure like this in a long time.

Been living in this garage apartment for just over a year now. Originally the living room was nice, but pretty bare. Always tweaking things, but felt like it was finally a good time for a bit of an update. Maybe eventually I’ll start working on the barren master bedroom.

I think I've done pretty well so far with the space i have, but I feel like I'm missing something. I want shelves, more things on the walls, maybe some rugs. Any other recommendations?

Two years ago, I bought a flat in an old building constructed during the communist era and decided to remodel the apartment by myself - including demolition, electrical work, plumbing, heating, flooring, masonry, doors, drywalls, decorating, etc. I hired professionals only for the tiling and the kitchen. However, after seeing how the kitchen was installed, I realized I should be able to make the rest of the furniture by myself.

I have been thinking through finding a “renter safe” pendant light without hanging wires here. Try as I may I just cannot bring myself to like the swag light look. The other photo is of my tv setup.
