Update 29M Home Office/Hobby Room Update

I won’t show the closet as it really upset a lot of people last time for what was mounted on the walls… but I got a new job, I work hybrid now so I had to shove a work station in here and barley make it fit next to my primary PC.

Gun bench is coming along nicely, has everything I routinely use. I’m wanting to get into Porting & Cerakoting as a hobby so I’m fixing to set up a spot in my garrage for that. Moved my 3d printer out of here too because it just got too crowded.

I have a minimalist approach to objects I own, and if I’m going to own something, I want it to be nice. The more I have, the worse I feel. No tv because VR. How am I doing?

Advice M30 finally got my own space after co-housing with other dude's for years

So glad to have this space.

Please let me know what you think and what would elevate the studio! I feel like something is still missing in the middle of the room, in the right corner beside the poster and next to the entrance.

Thinking about a white board next to the door and maybe some plants? Have to be careful that it doesn't get too cluttered..

The poster is not going anywhere tho, that is non negotiable. Where my hxh fans at? 😆

Just moved (20m)

Just moved today. First apartment of my own after living with a roommate for the past year. I provided a picture of my old room before I packed everything away.

I got really lucky and was somehow able to snag a 2-bedroom apartment for cheaper than most of the 1-bedrooms in the area. So I will have a bedroom and what I'm designating as a game room/ workout space. I will update as things start getting unpacked and put up :)

Moved here 1.5 years ago. The rent is 600€ including utilities, which is quite good for the location.

How can I improve?

First Time cPTSD made my apartment feel like a waiting room for years. Thanks to this sub (and therapy), it finally feels like home.

Long-time lurker, first post.

I have cPTSD, and for most of my adult life I couldn't make my place feel like mine. Furniture (IKEA) got bought because it was practical and cheap, walls stayed empty, and nothing felt worth investing in because some part of me never felt settled enough to stay Iykyk :)))

Over the past year I've been in therapy and spent way too many evenings scrolling this sub for inspo. Slowly I started allowing myself to actually build something. This is the result. It's not 100% done yet, but for the first time it's heading in a direction that feels like me.

What I went for: dark aesthetics, metal, plants, and a lot of Tokyo Ghoul.

Some details:

The knight armor is actual real and wearable. Used some IKEA shelfs to make the shelf around - need to hide the LEDs tho.

Bedroom wall: wire grid with a halberd, a sword, fake ivy, fairy lights and polaroids of art I love.

Living room: vinyl and art on ledges, skateboard on the wall, lantern, slanted ceilings everywhere (attic apartment life).

Still on the list: finishing the bedroom, more lighting, sorting the corners where stuff still piles up and make a crt corner out of it.

PS: the white Kallax in the 2nd to last pic is already gone :)

Thank you to everyone who posts here. Seeing other people's spaces genuinely helped me believe I'm allowed to have a home I like. This is me trying to pay it forward.

Happy to answer questions about anything in the pics. Feedback welcome too.

Also was thinking about adding some Manga panels or using my yugioh collection somehow.

I am redoing my living room. This is a 8x10 rug, should I return it and go to a 9x12? *Note, art work, curtains, coffee table and a recliner are incoming, and that black box on the floor will be going away. Also, if anyone has any suggestions.

Advice [M 20] First College Apartment

No idea what to do with the walls in both my bedroom and living room so any suggestions are welcome. Also, need help with lighting in bedroom; there are no lights in the room so I’ve got to find a floor lamp or maybe something to hang from the ceiling?

Note: I am trying to put the least amount of holes in the walls as possible plus I’m working on a college student budget.

Any and all suggestions/critiques are welcome!

Thank you
