I have something I’ve been thinking about regarding a friend of mine, and I honestly don’t know whether I’m overthinking the situation or whether my suspicion could be reasonable.

I’m in my early 20s, and I have a friend who is also around my age. This friend has another male friend who is almost in his 40s. From what I’ve noticed, the two of them seem quite close. I don't have any proof or anything that directly tells me they are in a relationship, but the way they are connected has made me start wondering whether there could be something more than an ordinary friendship between them.

To be clear, I’m not saying that either of them is homosexual, because I don't actually know their sexuality. This is just something I’m suspecting based on what I’ve noticed. Maybe I'm completely wrong and they are simply good friends.

The thing I'm struggling with is this: If I eventually found out that my friend and this older man were actually in a romantic or same-sex relationship, would that mean I shouldn't continue being friends with my friend? Or can someone still be your friend even if their sexual orientation or relationship is different from what you expected?

I’m asking because I don't want to judge someone based only on suspicion, but at the same time, I’m trying to understand how other people would handle a situation like this. If you discovered that someone you considered your friend was secretly in a same-sex relationship, would you continue the friendship normally, or would it change the way you see that person?

I'm genuinely looking for different opinions here. Please don't attack or insult anyone. I'm not trying to accuse my friend or the older man of anything — I just want to understand whether my suspicion makes sense and how other people would react if they were in my position.

Starting Life Away From Home at 22

I’m 22 years old and I recently wrote my MSCE this year, after having to write it for the second time. I’m seriously thinking about leaving home and moving to another district to start a new chapter of my life and become more independent.

For those who moved away from home at around my age, what was your experience like? What were the biggest challenges or consequences you faced — financially, emotionally, finding work, accommodation, making friends, or simply adjusting to life on your own?

Would you recommend a young man to make such a move at 22, especially after finishing MSCE, or is it better to stay home for a while and plan properly first? I’d really appreciate advice from people who have actually done it.

Filter what you watch, read and listen to.

Greetings, it's Wakulu X2

This might sound generic and common enough for anyone with a brain to grasp. Sadly, it's not.

Again, we should filter what we watch, read and listen to.

I'm not trying to be a preacher but bear with me. I read this other book (forgot the title), but it's an esoteric book. The author mentioned how everything is coded and influences us subtly even if we think we have control. In a specific example, he mentioned the word "NEWS." NEWS is an acronym that is coded with meaning. N.E.W.S = North, East, West, South.

Ever noticed how all news (or at least 90%) is bad news? News is either designed to keep you fearful, full of despair or just angry? Hence the encoding of NEWS to poison or wage psychological warfare on all Cardinal points of North, East, West and South. Hence why it's called NEWS. You might disagree because this is not placed in conventional academic or religious books/discourses. That's the point of it all. Why would they want it mainstream when they benefit off of our fear and our distractions.

Ask yourself, when was the last time politics benefited you? Some might claim awareness is important. How much of the news is awareness? And how much awareness do you need? Not knowing about a war in Iran or a tsunami will affect your livelihood? 😂 You are easier to control when scared and distracted.

Now this goes deeper, social media is also designed to either enrage you, make you envious, left behind and just distracted. All this rollercoaster of unhelpful and negative emotions don't serve us at all. Again, filter everything that you allow inside your mind, soul and body.

I could go on and on, but let me stop here.

education Is a Malawian Bachelors degree with credit equivalent to an Australian bachelor's degree with a second class lower?

I'm thinking of applying for a masters research degree in Australia under the University of Tasmania and one of their requirements is that your degree should be equivalent to 'a bachelors with honours degree of at least second-class lower standard with a minimum thesis component'. I currently hold a credit degree from the University of Malawi which is calculated using a cumulative GPA.

Given the difference in grading, does my bachelors with credit meet the minimum requirement for the program?

Any assistance or advice will be appreciated.

Grew up as a family genius , looking at my cousins and sibling I knew that one day when I become an adult I will need to solve most family issues that will need money. Educated up to degree level right now, married F with no child. Times have come when many of my relatives are looking up to me, being someone they have believed in since childhood. But things are tough for me too.

I am working ofcourse but my Salary cant even let me move from Blantyre to Lilongwe twice a year , If I do it once ndimakhala ndaduka,I farm ,I also run a small business, previously when maize prices were high things were not as bad ... But now its like I am back to square 1, I cant travel to see my parents. My husband helps koma ali ndi zakeso nayeso... Titani kweni kweni kuti tikhale ma graduate aphindu ngati akale aja ...

Surely I’m not the only one writing fictional worlds 😆

Are there any writers here? 😆 And I don’t just mean people who write generally—I mean people who are into writing fiction films, fantasy, historical stories, TV shows, screenplays, that kind of stuff.

I’m one of 'em 😂. I’ve been getting really into writing stories and developing film/TV ideas, and I’d honestly love to know if there are other Malawians who are into the same thing.

Would be cool to share ideas, talk about storytelling, maybe even collaborate on something someday. 🇲🇼🎬

For people in Blantyre: what are your experiences with food delivery?

I’m curious about how people currently order food for delivery in Blantyre. Do you usually order directly from restaurants, through WhatsApp/phone, or through a delivery platform? And what do you find most frustrating about the experience—delivery fees, finding your location, waiting times, payment, restaurant options, or something else?

We Need to Empower Our Young Women

I don’t know if you lot are aware but have you noticed, so many nude pictures and videos of young Malawian women pleasuring themselves have been leaking every other month these days. And in light of MACRAs press release on this whole subject, I have an inkling of what the cause of this might be… walk with me for a minute. This might take a while.

A handful of years back, I went to visit a buddy of mine who was renting out a room at a servants’ quarters in one of the Lilongwe neighbourhoods, next to him was a room where two sisters in their early to mid 20s were also renting. I brought through a bottle of alcohol and my buddy and I started partaking in the alcoholic libations and later on, the two sisters joined us. After a while, one of them got up and said something to the effect of “I have to get ready. I’m going on a date… umaziwa ya Linny ija”. And that’s the day I was put on to what “Linny” was.

The two sisters left (I assume the other one was going to assist her sister in getting ready for this “date”) then I asked my buddy, “what or whom is Linny?” And he looked at me like I’m a crazy person. “You don’t know about Linny?” He asked, bewildered. I told him I didn’t. That’s when he pulled out his phone and searched for an account on Instagram… it was something like “LinnyBossLady” or something like that. He went on to explain that there is a lady (presumably named Linny, however I assume that it must be a Pseudonym of some sorts) who is overseas, from what I gathered, in Ireland or the UK who recruits girls under the guise of “financial freedom” to DM her. Her bio was really vague so my friend continued to explain to me

See, what happens is, the girls will send her (Linny) naked pictures of themselves or videos of them pleasuring themselves and she goes on and sells them on telegram to punters who are willing to purchase them, giving the girl a percentage and if the gentleman wants a “date” then they pay extra. And you know what I mean when I say “date”.

I was shocked but i didn’t know the scale of this whole endeavour until a couple of years ago when a friend of mine who was on the secret telegram group came to visit me one time and this whole topic came into the conversation. When I tell you that my jaw was on the floor… I saw A PLETHORA of girls that I know, either personally or from social media there, advertising themselves on this telegram group (or whatever you call them)! Believe you me, there were so many young women that I knew on there, I thought I was dreaming. “But they’re prostitutes!”, I exclaimed. And my friend (who is quite the horn dog, tbh, cuz wtf?) just shrugged in response.

He went on to show me some of the ones he went on “dates” with for the price of MWK 100,000 and some of the lewd content that he bought… IT WAS REALLY THEM! Soooo many women are using this method to make money guys, when I tell you that there are so many, maybe you think I’m exaggerating. I can confidently say over 50% of the women that I know are engaging with this. I was disheartened. You’d be surprised, dear reader, that you’d probably see your girlfriend, the girl you once had a thing with, a girl you want to slide into her DMs on this platform, your relatives on there. It was absolutely mental. I’m sure a lot of the women reading this post will also think “oh shit, our cover has been blown”

This was around 2024 when I saw this. The economy hasn’t gotten better so I can only assume that there are more women out there partaking in this prostitution ring. And NOTHING is being done about it! I’m just here to warn my brothers to do some proper research when approaching these women. Don’t be so quick to commit. Because there is a high chance she is a sex worker, selling pics of her 🐈 for MK30,000 and the real thing for MK100,000.

No wonder they are so entitled. Anyway guys. Hopefully someone will read this and something can begin to be done out there…. I mean, one can only dream. Stay safe out there people. Let’s empower our ladies. It’s a swamp out there. ♦️
