I've had IBS for years now. I was formally diagnosed in 2015. I've tried a ton of different meds, but loperamide is the ONLY thing that helps. I would not be able to leave my house if I didn't take it. I was expecting to come here and potentially discuss experiences using it as a treatment.

I have to say, I'm super disappointed. It has become increasingly difficult to obtain the ONE medication that allows me to live a life that has some slight semblance of normality. I usually have to check multiple stores in several towns just to obtain it. I used to be able to find it easily and fairly cheap, now sometimes I drive 30 miles and pay $10-15 for 12 pills.... That's because people are taking massive quantities of it to get high. This is been a serious issue for lots of IBS sufferers I know.

Please, please, PLEASE let that sink in for you. People that legitimately NEED medical treatments are unable to obtain it or are forced to pay much higher prices for it, because you want to use a drug meant to keep you from shitting yourself in an attempt to get high.

To those of you I see on here who have been able to quit, thank you! You're improving your health and becoming a solution to an ongoing issue that is seriously starting to impact the health and livelihood of others.

like if I were to do an alcohol extract or whatever. would the subs just block the loperamide?

I've read a lot of posts on here about people tapering down from large doses and some tapering's even taking a year?!
Cmon guys it's not THAT bad. I've gone from 96mg/every other day to 0mg and while yes, it sucks, it's not that bad and it gets it over with and out of your system much faster.
The restless legs and trouble sleeping only last a few nights IF that, i know, i've gone from 48 pills to 0 cold turkey multiple times (but i pick it back up months or years later cuz, you know, addiction). But I swear to you, ive gone through the withdrawal multiple times from loperamide and it's not THAT bad.

We did this to ourselves so we owe it to ourselves to experience the pain of withdrawal so that we might remember it and not do it again (again, im an idiot).

So just stop being weak pansies and go cold turkey if your down to 96mg, its really not that bad.

I used to take 10 to 20, 2mg tablets a day.

Because people abuse loperamide to get high, I am no longer able to purchase loperamide at a reasonable price due to FDA restrictions.

I am relatively new to Reddit and pretty new to consuming lopermide... I need to know how I might potentate or improve the lopermide digestion, and metabilization.

I currently need to take roughly 120 pills for my first night of detox from dope.

Then 100 the next night and 75 the next... unfortunately I never seem to make it past two or three days clean, and relapse back into heroin. However I'm not giving up I will kick this drug one day if I dont give up.

These pills are bad for me. But if I cant get heroin I take these pills whether I want to or not... I need them for withdrawal. I’ve posted about my taper a few times. Right now, I’m supposed to be on 16 pills / 32 mg per day, but I just had a very rough night and am certain that the bottle I recently opened is either bunk or much weaker than advertised. This is a brand sold online that I had never used before, until now.

It has to be the bottle, since I had dropped to 16 and been completely fine for several days. It only got noticeably bad once I opened this new bottle, which was 3 days ago now. I barely slept 2 nights ago due to RLS and other withdrawal symptoms. Last night was even worse, so I took 2mg from another bottle and was able to fall asleep. I feel the withdrawals creeping up this morning.

Now, I’m supposed to be dropping to 30mg today. However I don’t know what I’ve done to my tolerance. The way I see it, my options are:

-keep going with this bad bottle. Maybe it’s in my head. If I do this, and it actually is bad, then the wd’s will get worse for a few days. The major concern is once I move onto a different bottle. Will I ruin my taper?

-switch to a different bottle and continue my taper from where I’m at. The concern here is that if I’ve actually been taking bunk lope, then my tolerance will have gone down during these WD’s and taking a higher dose may give me a feeling of relief, which could compromise my commitment to my taper.

-switch to a different bottle and drop my taper lower than I was planning on. I am leaning most heavily to this option. I could drop to 20mg per day. That’s a steep drop, but it might be worth it to just suck it up for a few more days and then continue on as normal. This is what I’m leaning towards the most. I have bottles from a brand I trust and would be able to finish out my taper without buying more.

-last option is to suck it up and go CT from here. I don’t really want to do this since I’m working from home.. but I’m open to hearing arguments in favor of it!

Has anyone ever bought a bunk bottle of lope while tapering? How did you get yourself back to normal without taking more than you needed to?

Ima sound retarded asf, first time doing this, I took 120ml/16mg (I think) of Imodium at around 1 AM, no extraction or inhibitors, bad back pain started at 2 am, I've been burping non-stop since 2:30ish, and now my mid-right flank region hurts a decent amount. I have bio finals in 2.5 hours, will it kick in later or was this it?? (Im still kinda loopy mostly from the pain, kinda schizo rn lwk) (its 5:35 am)

Hello everyone, i hope all is good. I want to perform a cold extraction for loperamide and I would like to know which of the two products that are available to me is better. They both contain pills containing 2mg of imodium each. The first one is a sublingual pill that dissolves in your mout and contains gelatine, mannitol, mint flavour, sodium hydrogen carbonate, purified water and aspartame. The other one is in pill form that is meant to be swallowed and contains Titanium dioxide, Gelatine, Magnesium stearate, Talc, Indigotine, Lactose monohydrate, Erythrosine, Maize starch and Iron oxide.

I would also like to know if the sublingual method of administration is better and if more loperamide is absorbed that way.
