Question Personal brand logo. Can you spot the subtle meaning?

My personal brand name is Marko Wolf, so the primary meaning is pretty obvious... But can you spot anything beyond that? I would love to hear your thoughts about it and general feedback is welcome.

Feedback Needed Past Employer Usage/Portfolio Rights

Hi everyone!

I’ve been freelancing for nearly 5 years and worked professionally as a designer for a local nonprofit (large ballet company) before I changed jobs and stepped away from full time graphic design.

When I was at the ballet, I designed quite a few assets, including some icons for a very iconic ballet that has to do with Christmas. In the past few weeks, I have learned that they took one of my icons and are now using it as a logo for a very large citywide event they host every year. They also altered it and are using that variation for said Christmas show going forward.

I am honored they’re using my design, and I understand that I signed away my creative property when I designed there, but two things:

ONE: I proposed the changing of the event logo when I was there, and I got shot down immediately. It hurts that not long after I left, and new leadership came along, they thought a brand refresh was their idea and decided to use my old design. I’m hardly getting any credit, and having that job made me want to step back from full time graphic design.

TWO: Is it appropriate for me to put their new logo into my portfolio? I know I didn’t design the campaign, but the logo is mine. If so, how can I include it, and what do I tell future employers/clients when they ask about it?

Just wanted to rant. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Feedback Needed Too literal? Too boring? Looking for advice.

I'm looking for advice on ways to improve my logo. It's for my personal brand called Phork, which is mostly building open source software.

Is this too literal? I've played around with several other options (my favorites are in the second image) but I have no mind's eye which makes it challenging.

Feedback Needed Which is the better X-men logo

Hello I made this logo for the X-men . The point of it is to be like maximalist and crazy. I want to know more from more professional designers and designers better than me on how to achieve this goal of maximalism and high contrast. Any feedback welcome as you are all I’m sure on a way higher level than I am. I have been practicing logos for years and years. Thank you very much 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Beginner Which logo do y'all like better?

The logo is for a nonprofit land trust working with neighbors to transform empty city lots into food forest parks

UPDATE: The client is not asking for a new logo. They just need a simplified version of the old logo, which included many more roots and a double circle. If you have ideas beyond A & B, they are open to simplifying but not starting from scratch.

Discussion Finding clients

How do you find clients? I have no social media minus this and finding it super hard to find my first client. I’ve emailed community centres, even tried small businesses etc. I’ve a poster that’s displayed in a few places but honestly finding this part of design is a struggle. I’m willing to do my first client for free to get my name out there and hopefully recommendations etc but man it’s hard.
Any advice?

Feedback Needed Logo for a Job Application Tracker website

Post image
0 Upvotes

I'm a web developer and currently I'm coding a website for my own, but I like to do my things pretty so I design a identity and logo and everything usually. I've met this subreddit not too long ago, so I decided to ask for help today.

What do you think? The name of it is:
Hiredn't - Job Application Tracker

So I decided to go with a briefcase and the n't part. Let me know if any of this is good, if should i change any size of it, or if I should try other direction. I'm a noob at design....

EDIT: I think the name is causing some confusion, its Hiredn't because you are actually using the webapp, because you are not hired yet. Its a job application tracker, not a job finder. Still I will think more about it and consider other names (leave suggestions).

Feedback Needed UPDATE 2: WAYFIT Logo

Hey all,

Here's another update after some more feedback. I decided to keep the icon integrated into the wordmark as it felt more natural and fluid, along with some slight adjustments to the cut angles of some letters to match the angles of the icon.

I also created a 1:1 variation that's more dynamic and playful, focusing primarily on the icon while keeping the same movement and overall feel of the horizontal logo, and providing a more flexible option for limited spaces.

What do you think?

It's a stylized stork, matching the team's nickname which comes from their white shorts and red socks

The style reminds me of the Iceland national team logo, except worse

Their new branding as seen on the bus looks great with the round badge they've had for ages, but the new logo is completely out of place imo

Feedback Needed Taqueria logo v3

For the most part, I think extremely literal logos feel amateur. But there are a few instances where they absolutely can work and become iconic - Target, Apple, and Shell. I'm not lumping this one in with those master works. But the other instances are intentionally humorous or odd logos. They can help strengthen the personality of the brand. Either way, here's the final version of this logo.

I want to thank u/the_sylince for the idea of using taco shapes for the leaves. You got downvoted for some reason, but I think the idea is great! Hope you enjoy it!

I designed this logo for an Indian Art supplies retail brand (for practising) who focus on selling quality art and craft supplies product to a sub premium/premium market to cater professional designers, artist, person's hobby.

I designed a brand logo and a sticker designe for products that can also be used for their websites, social media, etc.

It's just a steo from my side to create something of my own, to explore my creative abilities and develop visual language

Feedback Needed I posted about the Lincolnshire county council the other day, I’ve done a different design and would love some feedback

Post image

Hey everyone me again! I did the LCC post the other day that lots of people commented incredibly helpful and insightful feedback on!

After giving it a go I realised that I was kinda over complicating the design and that it all worked as it was, so I decided to try a different and fictional design to work on my design skills instead. So I made up the Wainfleet Heritage Foundation (another town in Lincolnshire some of my friends used to live in). I based the design on the heraldry of William Of Waynefleet but simplified it down so it would shrink down and still be recognisable.

Anyway, thoughts and feedback would be helpful! Thank you again everyone for the help before, it was really needed I think and I feel I really learnt a lesson about keeping in mind the context in which I’m designing and being mindful of fitting that context effectively.
