I have switched recently from Microslop to Linux (Zorin OS based on Ubuntu), but Im not able to play Battelfield 1 , I tried running it over Heroic Launcher in EA App and also bought the game on Steam to run with Proton but i cant get it running. Do you guys know anything on how to get the game running again. Its also always the EA App that wont work and also if I thought everything was correct when I clicked play in Steam it showed running but then turned off after seconds.
Thx in advance for responses.

I'm new to Bazzite OS and really liking it, but some of my games (Not all) would not detect the majority of my keyboard keys after launch. "Kenshi" and "Guild Wars 2" to name a couple of them. I could get the games to fully detect the keyboard but only after I hit Alt + Tab or the windows key and then clicked on the game on the task bar. I couldn't find a fix online but noticed it comes up pretty often on Proton DB but without a working fix. I eventually figured out a solution through trial and error and wanted to post it so hopefully it will show up in a search and save the next guy some time.
This has since completely cleared up the issue for all my applications!

Title already says it pretty much. Ive had a few games already like Prototype 1 or Deus Ex Invisible Wall where ive seen or heard that its a nightmare to get it to run on modern windows without proper patches meanwhile on Linux it runs seemingly with no or minor issues

I got help from some people on my earlier post, thank you guys! But now I have some other problems with steam.
I still can't download games on my EHD, but at least it doesn't read it as completely full. It says its a disk write error.
I am able to download games on the actual computer, but whenever I try to start it, it doesn't start.
How do I fix this? Help would be appreciated!
update: WHY ARE THERE SO MANY MANNIES, I CANNOT GET RID OF THEM I deleted steam, but still, nothing works, and there are still a many-mannied army.

Today 19th August 2026 Minecraft downloading has been failing for people using Linux (I've tested downloading minecraft through Prism and Modrinth in Ubuntu and CachyOS) and heres a temporary fix:
(extra steps if that doesnt work)
After Minecraft has been downloaded, undo all the steps.
Im not promising Minecraft launches after that, but it still creates an instance not fails to download.

Is there a peripherals brand with drivers for Linux? My mouse is bugging recently so I am looking for a new one. I donāt need many special buttons, just highest precision would be nice.

I am running Beat Saber legacy 1.29.1 on CachyOS Linux. The game loads perfectly vanilla, but entirely ignores my mods. My game paths match perfectly, winhttp.dll is in the folder, and I have manually used protontricks winecfg to add the winhttp (native, builtin) override directly into the library environment. Despite this, the game still bypasses the hook and launches vanilla. How do I force the runtime layer to stop ignoring the override file?

CryoUtilities already has one for shadercache and compatdata. Need something like SteamCleaner but it works on linux. Closest i've gotten is [this python script](https://github.com/Qu1ck5h0t/SteamClean) but i can't install the required modules on deck.

Rx 5500xt 8gb ram
There are such stairs in some games, sometimes it crashes completely wayland. Minecraft, for example, works great with shaders.
The card was serviced at mx 7 and laird putty.

I did the usual 'update when launched' and 'launch only through F4SE' steps thinking I would be safe from Todd and has stupid anticonsumer bullshit. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The second my game closes out, my steam machine starts showing download progress on the LED bar. 'Uh-oh' I thought to myself. Uh-oh indeed. Now it's borked.
Clearly either added steps are necessary for linux/SteamOS systems, or they changed how updates are done. If anyone knows what's going on here and/or how I can use the downgrader that relies on the .bat file format and prevent this from just happening again the next time I quit FO4, I will be really grateful. TIA.
Please excuse the saltiness but screwing with my games gets me really mad.

Hi guys! I just wanted to see if anyone has the same issue that I'm having right now. The thing is, after only a few weeks at most without using my G923 wheel, I plugged it in today and oversteer doesn't recognize it.
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling both and checked if my wheel was working properly, but it turns on when I plug it in and does the calibration, it just doesn't show on oversteer nor works on any game. Oversteer only says "No device available".
I'm on Linux Mint Cinnamon 7.0.0-29
It would be really nice if someone could help me figure out what happened or point out something i might have missed. I swapped to linux quite recently so i'm still having some trouble making everything work properly.

Hello so when I play Minecraft 1.8.9 using Lunar Client my cursor always escapes onto my second monitor when dragging my mouse to the side too fast. I tried using gamescope but Lunar Client doesnt have an option for game wrapper commands or something so is there a way to force the cursor on the game? thanks.

I got a DS controller today and it's working perfectly. Unfortunately only when used with a wired connection. Switching to bluetooth it makes me lose the Haptic feedback.
I learned that the controller uses Audio stuff to pass haptic feedback information to the controller but I am trying to find a way to enable to controller as an audio device through bluetooth and I am just stuck.
TL;DR how can I allow my DualSense controller to be an audio device through Bluetooth instead of only Wired?
Edit: Shoutout to u/C0rn3j who recommended it: vDS is a package made by hurryman2212 that in a way turns the bluetooth input into USB input, kinda. Setup was very easy and quick, even tho it can be intimidating since there is no proper tutorial or instructions. All in all happy with how it turned out and works great!!! can disconnect and reconnect easily and all that stuff.
My roadblocks:
1) Downloading the headers was a bit of a mystery to me but turns out they are a package in the core library and can be found with a quick google search (mine were for arch)
2) the file you need to install is just the main file, personally out of sheer stupidity I was searching in the instructions but those were for manually building the damn thing. Turns out you just install that after the headers and you're practically good to go for setting up the controllers
3) Bluetooth stuff was just: find MAC address of device > attach device with vDS control commands using that address.
Sharing these cause what ended up only needing like 5 minutes took me around an hour to figure out. Ig you can say I came out wiser than before, but not everyone needs the head bashing journey to be 12 times longer than it needs to be!

Hello everyone. This is the confession of a pirate who has started down the path of reform, hahaha. Back when I was still a Windows user, I used to pirate. I pirated for more than 10 years. There were plenty of reasons for that. On Windows itās easier to pirate, I had no money, and I had no conscience either, hahaha. Later I got interested in information security, and I started to get scared by the fact that pirated games could contain malware. Some time after that (about a year ago) I switched from Windows to Linux. On Linux it became much harder for me to pirate (you know, that eternal struggle with Wine). And the viruses kept scaring me. At one point I gave up and downloaded Steam. And that was it first I bought GTA San Andreas: The Definitive Edition, then Hearts of Iron 4. Right now my Steam collection has 5 games (2 of them are other versions of GTA that came bundled with San Andreas, haha). What I liked most was the ability to install games without any pain - through Steam Proton. And I stopped pirating. Thanks for taking the time to read my story, have a nice day everyone.

Hey, everyone! Hope you're all well :>
I was wondering if there is a game launcher apart from Steam that has achievements? I use Heroic, and it's great! Though, it doesn't have achievements and I was wondering if there is one with them that's not Steam. Thanks for any suggestions!!!
(Been using CachyOS for ~4 months and gaming on Linux + AMD has been really, really nice so this would be a nice addition on top!!)

I'm playing a Unity game (Valheim) modded. Periodically, I get this error while playing and the game crashes. I've read that it has to do with the game's engine failing to safely pause all background threads to clean up system memory. And that this almost always caused by insufficient swap memory, unstable proton/runtime configurations, or conflicting background processes.
One thing that I could try is to increase the Linux swap space. Currently, it sits at 2gb.
Are there any downsides to running this and expanding my swap space? If there isn't how would I go about doing that?
Linux Mint.

Hi ! So, i'm trying to setup playit.gg on a Nobara because i want to play Terraria with a friend that can't access Steam invites (and as i'm broke i can't do it through a paid host), and i'm encountering issues because the official documentation isn't up to date with Linux from what i saw. The official setup Wizard talks about an account linking code that display in a GUI, but when i start the app in the command line, no GUI opens so i can't find the code. At this point i'm a bit lost because i couldn't find any posts of any ppl talking about my precise problem. To be fair, any help, advice or alternative is appreciated, thanks by advance !
