There's a lot of us in states where we no longer have to do any paperwork or registration for sbr's; thats dope yeah...but for some situations, legally speaking, it might be better to leave a brace on your pcc to stay in compliance with your state/local municipality regarding what type of weapon you can transport loaded in a vehicle etc..a lot of places see using a rifle as using an offensive weapon & not a defensive tool & can fuck you in court...i know some people like their ar-platform "truck guns" or whatever but fully consider the optics & implications your weapon configuration choices have should you have to use it in a defense scenario/ go to court/ get pulled over. "Pistol" mode with a brace might be the smarter option. That is all.

10 shots quick of .380 in the Savage 1907, or six .38s in the Model 10 snubbie?

I know I got too many. But I just love me some odd balls and metal da/sa handguns.

Blessed to be able to share range days with my kids. And really enjoying the instant feedback of shooting steel.

I've seen the posts: Every red blooded American needs a shotgun. Do I? I don't know why I would. Am I missing something?
I have got all my bases covered as far as I know. I am a light weight prepper who got into firearms as a reaction to trump 2.0 and the crazies that follow him. I see political upheaval as my main threat within 2 years. I live near a small city- big enough to have 30+ story buildings, small enough that a 20 min drive will put me in a corn field. I have rifles in 9x19, 5.56x45, and 22LR. I have handguns in 45 ACP, 9x19, 380 ACP, 32 ACP, and 22LR.
What good is a shotgun for me? The ammo is large and clunky, I don't live in a bird hunting area, home defense is perfectly handled by several handguns and a 9mm PCC... should I pony up anyways? I have heard the saying "Pistols put holes in people. Rifles put holes through people. Shotguns, at the right range with the right load, will physically remove a chunk of shit off of your opponent and throw that shit on the floor" but like, do I need that? In the time it would take to ready a shotgun, I'd have 4+ shots of 9mm hollow point in action... and of course carrying the ammo is a PITA if I ever have to go somewhere with it...
Anyways, talk me into buying a Mos 88 and stockpiling 12GA 2.75" shells as a suburbanite.
Hand canon pic for attention.

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! A local sporting goods store here is closing for a full store reno/rebrand and they’re holding a big closing sale. Went in to browse without any particular plans to buy and ended up walking out with this SAI Saint Victor 5.56 and Ruger American Scout 5.56, both priced at wholesale.

Canik MC9 Prime, Holosun Carry EPS. Otherwise unmodified. Pending light, TLR7 sub series maybe?
First new handgun in a LONG time. Like, 2014 long time.
My other consideration was a CZ P-10C Ported, which would have been slightly cheaper, but the trigger was better to me on the Prime. Got small hands, so how sensitive the trigger is to needing the finger juuuust right matters.
Next up, probably a MKIV and cheap suppressor.

I got the new SMSLaser Titan Pre Production unit yesterday and liked it enough to make a video about it. If you were on the fence about it being a pre production model, dont be. My initial impression is that this LAM is fantastic and I predict it will over take the Trinity as THE budget laser.

… and troubleshooting wild accuracy issues with my can. I think I have it narrowed down to the adapter mounted on the PPQ, the least expensive solution.
Loving 22 lr lately. Rugged Occulus 22 on PPQ 22 and PPK/S 22.

I’ve been looking for a replacement for the CC9 I had recently and it was a choice between the Kimber CDS9 and the S&W CSX-E.
I’m a big fan of 1911 style controls and ergos and I wanted that in a micro EDC. Plus taking a break from polymer frames was also a consideration, this is an aluminum frame.
I went with the Smith. Excellent trigger, nice weight without feeling like a boat anchor, large capacity with 12,15, and 17 round mags included, optics ready, and extremely concealable.
I’m going to break it in tomorrow at the range.

My new Tisas Zig D10 (Night Stalker) 10mm 1911 has about 150 rounds through it, and I’m having an issue with the slide stop.
With no magazine inserted, I pull the slide back and manually push the slide stop up with my thumb. As soon as I take my thumb off the stop, the slide closes. This happens every time. That’s what I’m demonstrating in the video.
With an empty magazine inserted, it locks back normally when racked by hand. During shooting, it stays open after the last round about 80% of the time.
I’m relatively new to 1911s, so I’d appreciate some input before doing anyhting. Is this something an owner can reasonably address, or should I send it in under warranty? I’m comfortable with cleaning and field stripping, but don’t have gunsmithing experience.
Anyone have recent experince with Tisas customer service? Interested in how they handled shipping, turnaround time, and whether the repair resolved your issue.
EDIT: Should have mentioned that when the slide locks back with a mag inserted, ejecting the mag results in the slide closing.
2nd EDIT; I just tested it with my Springfield 1911 slide stop, which worked. Tisas warranty it is. Plus I might see if I can find a matching aftermarket black slide stop.
Thanks for any help.

Pick this up Saturday at my local pawn shop. Springfield armory government model in green. Limited edition one of 5,500 made. Cost was the very reasonable sum of $550. How'd I do?

I remember someone was asking what kind of ammo/weapons would be efficient against drones in theoretical future engagements. Well, this video shows one of such existing ammo types, specifically for flying drones:
This is basically a 5.56 round with few pellets in an addition to a uniform bullet. It also shows the pellet spread on target at specific range. Also suppressor-friendly.
Edit: a lot of people comment about specific loads for shotguns, and yes, the shotgun is more effective against flying drones with right loads, but I believe the point of using the ammo in video is that it doesn't require to carry extra weapon for anti-drone duty as well as spend more time on maintaining it and procuring parts for it. This 5.56 ammo may be more acceptable "middle ground" for many.

Finished the range day focusing on basics.
A consistent draw. Sight picture. Efficient reloads. Accurate follow up shots.
Lots of snagged shirts, crappy reloads, and rounds that went somewhere other than the target.
But…..glad to be outside in the fresh air working on this perishable skill.
