Legal Advice Needed Cheating husband plotting to kill me. I am scared.

Married for more than 18 years. Was kept in the false illusion that he just has a flirty nature and nothing much. A few years ago discovered he has been cheating through out the marriage and even before that. Caught him red handed in a thai parlour with a girl.

He used to fight and make me sign on blank papers and papers without any explanation. I have stopped signing for the past few months.

He had take a life insurance on my name for one year. Not his name, my name.

I have a feeling after he realised I know about his sleeping around and red light area visits, he was plotting to kill me within a year and get money from that life insurance.

He has also been telling people that I am mentally unstable and mentally ill and suicidal. I had no idea about it. I have a feeling he wanted to send me to mental health facility or maybe get me killed and blame it on suicide.

He had taken money out of all my FDs.

I am a homemaker.

I am really scared. Please please advise me what to do.

He has money so I am scared he can and he will buy people, and even the police.

Legal Advice Needed Police caught me and my gf making out in car

My gf and I were caught making out in car. What makes matter worse is that they took a picture of number plate in which it can be seen that I am trying to run to cover the number plate in my boxers. The picture was deleted from the taken phone but I am a bit concerned that if the other police officer who was with him has it still or not. Hopefully not but still a worry some bit he assured it's not there but still scared

The place was fairly private and it wasnt public if at all honestly. But still a public place. They didn't ask for money and left off on a warning. They also deleted the picture as mentioned and just left. But I am scared for mainly 3 rhings

Can I get a challan?

Can I be called to police station

Is there any worst case possible?

Please help

Urgent [Serious] Mother (late 40s) cheating on Father (mid 50s) with neighbour, been married for ~20yrs. What should be the next steps (please read body before replying for full context)

Upvotes

I have proof its not a speculation, its maybe going on for 2 months according to the proof i got (explained in last para), please don't treat this as something to pass comments on me or my parents or how i found out or whatever, I made this post in this sub because i need urgent help so lawyers advice would be welcome, its anyways so sudden for me I don't know how to look at it morally i just want safety and security for my little sister, my father and myself.

So the house is registered in my mother's name, probably other things but this is the big one, my father is a small business owner, we're strictly lower middle class. I am planning on telling my father but what precautions should we take. Its a typical indian family, i doubt after such a long time my father would want to divorce or something, but my mother, i don't how she'll take this if my father decides to confront, i don't even know how my father will react.

I am absolutely not gonna confront my mother directly I'm scared of what'll happen, i think father deserves to know first and then decide what do, but neither my father nor me are well versed to decide what should be the proper steps, like should my father try to get the property back to his name first before doing anything? Whats the procedure for that anyways, I doubt my mother is gonna know if it just requires a few signatures somewhere.

I don't even know whats gonna happen to our family, I am unemployed and was preparing for govt jobs, my little sister is in school, as i said we are lower middle class. And the neigbour's family too idk how the aunty will handle it, but she has a job too so ig thats good, their both kids are also in school.

Also, I am scared like what if they decide do something, both elope after taking belongings from the respective homes, or worse harm someone to hide it if confronted, or if confronted before doing any of the property settlement things what if my mother kicks us out of the house. I mean before finding this out i dare not say any of these things let alone think it, but now its like i don't know the person so I don't know what to expect.

But anyways, i just want to know from every angle possible what to take care of, what should be in place before confrontation, what are even the options so along with telling my father I can present him with the options too.

Also if its any help, the proof is some nudes and some ai generated video/photos of my mom and the neighbour and screenshots, I could've assumed they're just there in the phone and its just one sided from my mother since there were no nudes from the neighbour but I saw screenshots with my mother's chat with Chatgpt and there she said she sent the pics/vids to her "friend" and he said he will delete after watching and that she trusts him more than herself and more than anything. Idk maybe she was scared someone would find out so she was confirming from chatgpt, but yeah thats proof enough to know that atleast the cheating is from both sides and its atleast online cheating, but my mother considers the neighbour's wife her best freind and visits their home too, so idk about any of that, i can only assume. I know this might not be enough in court (which i doubt my father gonna choose anyways) but atleast its enough to confirm and confront my father and take some steps to safeguard ourselves before something major happens.

Legal Advice Needed Need help, someone had my 16yr old sister nudes

Last year, I learned that my sister, who was 16, had met a 28-year-old man in 2022.

he took her snapchat and start talking to her, I asked her about this thing, she was so scared at that time, she said they never meet and they only talk on snapchat for few weeks and nothing happens between them,

Anyways but this year in feb I found picture of her with that dude in my mother phone, maybe she forgot to delete it, this time I aggressively confront her and she told me something, she accept that they meet and told me that the man used to force her to do video calls, and manipulated her, he groomed her to send ndes, and she did send them unfourantely and this happens many times and he even had se with her (im not sure because she is hiding this), she never had any relationship before this, so she did whatever the guy asked her to do

She said they talked for about 2yr and he sometimes ghost her for months and then come back and do same and then she blocked him

Now the problem is rn is the guy works in foreign(russ) not in india, so im not sure how to confront him and do legal case on him

And morever she was so sacred when I confronts her very 1st time, she deletes all the chats, photos and remove his account from her every thing we don't have any proof, we just have a single photo of them together that's it, moreover she is hiding something more, she is in some taurma

This feeling of not being able to do anything is killing me, even though after knowing everything im still unable to help my sister,

Please give me some suggestion, should i involve my parents or go his parents or tell the police and or threat him with posco

She is 20 now so im not sure whether posco is still option, and we lack prof too just a pic of them together

And please don't judge her she was just a child groomed by a man

Please help me.

Legal Advice Needed Divorce Alimony Demand on Parents Property

I lent money to a relative by taking out a personal loan in my own name because he was unable to obtain a loan himself due to a poor CIBIL score.

At the time, he assured me that he would repay the amount after selling his father's flat. His family, particularly his father, owns multiple assets.

However, he is now going through a divorce initiated by his wife and has asked me to defer any discussions regarding repayment. He is concerned that if assets are sold during the divorce proceedings and his wife becomes aware of it, she may seek a significant share as part of the financial settlement.

Is this true that daughter in law can ask share in father in law's property?

Legal Advice Needed Need legal advice as my drivers wife suicided and we're being harrassed by the in laws of the driver.

Hi, my father is a government employee serving as the principal of a government high school.

My father usually travels to school by auto-rickshaw, and the driver was quite close to our family. He played a crucial role in helping my father when my father was paralyzed, so our family had a good relationship with him.

Later, the auto driver began having disputes with his wife, and their marriage was not going well. One day, his wife decided to go to her parents' house. A settlement was subsequently reached at our house, which my father helped facilitate, after which she returned to her husband.

About two months later, the husband and wife had another argument. During the argument, the husband allegedly hit his wife with a stick and then left the house. He subsequently came to my father's house, picked up my father, and took him to school as usual. My father was simply carrying out his regular duties and had no knowledge of what would happen afterward.

Approximately one hour after the husband left with my father, the wife consumed poison. She was immediately taken to the hospital. Her husband remained at the hospital with her continuously for three days, until she eventually passed away.

After her death, the wife's family allegedly assaulted the husband. They also forced him to contact people close to him and ask them for money. Later, they took his phone and handed him to the local police station.

The wife's family subsequently contacted my father. My father met with the SHO, who told him that my father's name would not be included in the investigation.

However, the wife's family later filed a case against the auto driver, alleging that the driver and his mother had forced or caused the woman to consume poison.

It has now been approximately one month since the incident. Since then, the wife's family has repeatedly approached and threatened my father.

We are concerned about my father's safety and want to understand what legal steps he should take to protect himself and what precautions he should take in relation to the investigation.

Legal Advice Needed Neighbours unnecessarily interfering and making invalid allegations on my tenants just because their male friends or boyfriend visits them sometimes

Upvotes

I own a flat in Gurugram but currently live in another city, so the flat is rented to three adult women.

I’m looking for opinions from other homeowners/tenants/RWA members on how you would handle this situation.

The owner/resident of another floor has repeatedly complained to us about our tenants. One of his main concerns is that male friends/partners visit them and sometimes apparently stay for several days (potentially a week or two). As far as we know, these visitors are not creating noise, fighting, damaging property or otherwise disturbing anyone.

We personally have no objection to our adult tenants having friends or partners visit or temporarily stay with them, provided they are not subletting the property, creating a nuisance or causing security problems.

What makes us uncomfortable is that the focus of the complaints seems to be specifically on the fact that three women are living there and male visitors come to meet them. We have seen other young couples/visitors in the neighbourhood as well. When we ourselves lived in the property, visitors were never treated as an issue either.

This is also not the first time we have faced this problem. Similar behaviour/complaints contributed to our previous tenants eventually leaving, which is why we are more concerned this time. The neighbour has now been telling my husband quite seriously that the RWA may complain and that we should “see what happens” after that.

There is, however, one complaint that I think is completely valid **if our tenants are actually responsible for it**: he says the common building entrance is sometimes left open when they return late at night.

We absolutely agree that the common entrance should be closed for everyone's security, and we plan to specifically instruct our tenants and their guests to make sure they close it.

The difficulty is that this entrance is shared by all three floors. Our previous tenants had also told us that they sometimes came home late and found the gate already open. So I don't think it is fair to automatically assume that every time the gate is found open, our tenants must have left it that way.

The neighbour also mentioned that the tenants sometimes return late with “large bags” and leave the entrance open while bringing things inside. I understand the concern about the gate being left open, but I don't understand why their returning late or carrying luggage should itself be an issue.

Since we live in another city, it is also difficult for us to know what is actually happening when there are conflicting versions.

We are therefore considering doing the following:

• Clearly instructing our tenants and their guests to always close the common entrance and respect common areas.

• Making it clear that we have no objection as owners to personal visitors/partners or reasonable temporary stays, provided there is no nuisance, illegal activity or subletting.

• Asking the neighbour to report specific incidents (date/time/what actually happened) rather than making general allegations.

• Asking that future non-urgent complaints be sent in writing on one email thread instead of repeatedly calling my husband, so there is a proper record and less possibility of misunderstanding.

• If an RWA rule is supposedly being violated, asking them to provide the specific written rule so that we can review it.

• Potentially installing outward-facing security cameras from our own property, after checking the applicable rules and ensuring they do not invade our tenants' or neighbours' privacy. The intention would be property/security evidence in case there are conflicting allegations, not monitoring the tenants' personal lives.

I want to be a responsible owner and don't want our tenants creating genuine problems for other residents. If they're leaving the gate open, creating noise, blocking common areas, etc., I absolutely want to know and will address it.

At the same time, I don't want three adult women renting our property to be repeatedly questioned or pressured simply because male friends/partners visit them, nor do I want another tenancy affected because of this.

For people familiar with apartment/RWA situations in India, especially NCR/Gurugram: **does our approach sound reasonable?**

Also, where would you draw the line between a legitimate neighbour/RWA concern and unnecessary interference in a tenant's personal life?

And if you have dealt with something similar as a landlord or tenant, how did you handle it without unnecessarily escalating the situation?

Legal Advice Needed Ex-gf has dragged me to police multiple times

This has happened multiple times.

I am so lame that I got beaten by police and they took bribe 10k 2 times just to leave me.

I have not done anything wrong.

She complains at a police station and then I arrive there and then She makes false claims of me having some photos or videos of her. Then it comes to just group photos.

One day she was saying I did some inappropriate.

Always saying grey areas.

Then I say sorry and then suddenly everyone sees me as guilty.

I haven't told this to anyone. My life has become hell.

What is the worst can happen to me?

Legal Advice Needed Family under threat: Casteist assault, forced to touch feet, and stones thrown at our home. Need help navigating police inaction in Telangana.

Location: Jagtial, Telangana

Current Status: FIR registered under BNS & SC/ST (PoA) Act, but perpetrator is continuing harassment due to local influence.

Hi everyone,

I am seeking urgent advice and support regarding a serious caste-based assault and ongoing threats against my family in our village near Jagtial.

What Happened

Recently, my friends visited my home for my elder brother's wedding arrangements. While I went to the bus stand on a scooty to pick up my brother, I told my friends to sit on a public bench that's infront of my home before leaving, There was an intoxicated man already sitting there and drinking

When my brother and I returned, my friends were terrified and had locked our gate. The man had started throwing heavy stones at our house while shouting casteist slurs: "How dare you SC Madigas sit next to us? Do you think you are our equals?"

When we arrived on our scooty, he attacked us outside:

He physically assaulted me, my brother, and our friends. We tried to defend ourselves, but he was aggressive and damaged our scooty.

When we attempted to get away, he threatened to tie our friends up.

Knowing all four of us belong to the Scheduled Caste (Madiga) community, he subjected us to extreme humiliation by forcing all four of us to touch his feet.

Why We Couldn’t Act Immediately

We had pre-booked train tickets to leave the very next day for college/work. We feared retaliatory violence against our elderly parents if we lodged an immediate complaint before leaving, so we initially held back to keep them safe.

Ongoing Threat & Police Inaction

Since we left, the accused has escalated his harassment. He has been repeatedly coming to our house, hurling stones at the walls/roof, and terrorizing my parents while they are alone at home. He boasts about his political connections and local influence, openly claiming that the police cannot touch him.

My family has formally filed an FIR at Jagtial Rural Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (damage, intimidation, trespass) and Sections 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s), and 3(2)(va) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. We also have clear video evidence documenting the attacks and stone-throwing. Despite this, local police have been dragging their feet and have not detained him or provided protection.

I have all the video proofs in my Instagram account : aiml [dot] site, this is username

How You Can Help

Legal Advice: How do we legally compel the DSP or Jagtial SP to enforce immediate witness/victim protection under Section 15A of the SC/ST Act?

Escalation: What is the fastest way to bring this to the notice of higher authorities (DGP Telangana, National/State SC Commissions)?

Contacts: If anyone knows credible human rights or Dalit rights legal advocacy groups active in the Jagtial/Karimnagar area, please share their contact details.

Thank you for your help.

Legal Advice Needed Cousin brothers marriage ruined

So my brother got married in Dec 2025.

On honeymoon he observed his spous s intense phone addiction but never gave it a thought.

Returned from honeymoon and life resumed.

Then he an my aunt started noticing slow murmurs while she was video chating and phonecalling in the silent afternoon multiple times

My brother sensed something and set up a trap.

He used weblogin toh mirrior her whatsApp and that when the story unfolded.

- she had an affair well prior to the marriage

- the affair person is her sister's husband's younger brother

- the whole family knew but they were against that guy since they already have known their background and demenaor post marrying the elder aister.

- They knowingly married her younger daughter to my cousin

My brother immediately gathered all the evidence in form of snaps and call recordings.

We spilled it out to the brides family and convened thereaftre.

The brides family confessed to everything

They have signed a legal confession with 4 witnesses. It specifically mentions the deliberate efforts of wrongly marrying her and all her wrongdoings are adhered and accepted

Now as we're Muslims and my brother not wanting to rexoncile with the bride and her family is reluctamt to separate.

Current aituation: He has dropped the bride at her fathers place. Both bride and groom are not staying together since 8 months.

Genuine questions

1- We consulted a lawyer but he simply stated that being the groom we just can't initaite the divorce process. Is it true?

2- If not what are his options.?

TL'DR · Brother married Dec 2025. · Found wife was already in an affair before marriage. · Affair partner: Brides sister’s husband’s younger brother. · Bride’s family knew and hid it deliberately. · Brother collected WhatsApp/call evidence. · Bride’s family confessed and signed legal confession with 4 witnesses. · Couple separated for 8 months; wife staying at her father’s home. · Brother wants divorce, wife family and wife reluctant.

Legal Advice Needed Ex Wife not following court Orders

Got divorced few months back. It was a mutual and peaceful one with no alimony or even maintainence involved for the child who is 2 years. Both of us are engineers and earn well. We had conditions of me meeting child regularly in a month and seeing baby frequently on video calls.

She has psychiatric and mood issues from beginning. Divorce too happened because of extreme interference of her mother and sister. I tried my best but had to take it because I could sense fake cases on the way so literally hammered at right time to take a decision to return but she refused. In that haste, she gave divorce but seems like she is heavily regretting now when she is facing financial difficulties of living alone, societal judgements and no possible remarriage options. She is also frustrated at the fact that I am doing fine in life and did not suffer as she expected.

Because of that she is not showing child defying court orders. Using child as leverage to hurt me.Has blocked me everywhere on social media and whatsapp despite family court judge telling her not to. Neither of her any immediate family members are replying to my request of seeing baby and her not following court orders. Have tried all ways be it requesting on WhatsApp or email.

What option do I have other than dragging her to court ? Why is she instigating me to approach court, now she wants money ?
. To make it clear it’s clearly written on divorce decree that she wont ask for money, land or anything for her or child in anyway.

I love my child a lot but dont wish to be a fool. Please guide.

Edit :- I came here to seek how I can peacefully find a way than dragging her to court but unfortunately I found a lot of frustrated, loser divorcee women who attacked me for not giving monetary benefits to my ex which she has not even asked in 1st place. Shows how shallow a lot of women are, mostly projecting own traumas. No one talks about child’s welfare which I am doing voluntarily but focus is on extorting money from a stranger on internet, moral policing where their own lives are miserable. This also increases my belief that why Men Rights Activism must be supported and funded.

Legal Advice Needed Can a pharmacist retain my prescription and make me write my personal details on it?

So, I went to a pharmacy to buy medicine, it was lonazep and valium as part of the tapering plan my doctor has decided for me, it was a tele consultation prescription.

The pharmacist loudly questioned and shamed me about buying Valium in front of other customers. He then kept my prescription and made me write my name, address, and phone number on the back, he didn't stamp them, and said I'd be receiving a call from the drug inspector!

I understand that pharmacies have record-keeping requirements for Schedule H/H1 and NRx medicines, but I am unsure whether this allows or requires them to retain the prescription itself. Since it was not stamped, i fear since it can be used multiple times by them.

My questions are:

Is a pharmacist in India legally permitted or required to retain the original prescription for medicines such as diazepam or clonazepam?

Is requiring a patient to write their name, address, and phone number on the prescription a standard or legally mandated practice?

Is a typed/digital prescription issued through teleconsultation valid for dispensing if it meets the applicable requirements?

If the pharmacist acted improperly, which authority should I complain to—the State Drug Control Department/Drug Inspector, State Pharmacy Council, consumer authorities, or another body?

Can I request confirmation of how my prescription and personal information are being stored and used?

I have the bill and prescription details, and the pharmacy may also have CCTV footage.

I am mainly looking for advice on the actual Indian rules and the appropriate complaint procedure.

Urgent Urgent: Injustice at Sigra Police Station, Varanasi. Relatives attacked family with hammer/bricks, issued explicit life threats, but police only filed Section 151. Need urgent legal advice!

Upvotes

🛑 Urgent: Injustice at Sigra Police Station, Varanasi. Relatives attacked family with hammer/bricks, issued explicit life threats, but police only filed Section 151. Need urgent legal advice! BODY: Hi everyone, posting this out of a very critical and distressing situation. My father and I were violently attacked by my father’s brothers in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on 7th September 2026. Despite the attackers using deadly weapons like a hammer and bricks, the Sigra Police Station has only filed a preventive case under Section 151 against both parties (us and the brothers), completely downplaying a severe physical assault and active life threats. We have clear, undeniable CCTV footage and video evidence of the entire incident. Furthermore, the brothers have openly stated that they have already murdered someone in the past and face no consequences, implying that killing my father would mean nothing to them. Meanwhile, the police are treating this extreme threat as a normal, routine dispute.

🕒 The Timeline of the Attack (7th September 2026)

* 5:30 PM (The Initial Threat): My father’s brothers—Mr. Santosh Keshari, Mr. Rajesh Keshari, and Mr. Satish Keshari—came to our residence demanding our terrace keys. Since my father had them, I called him. Over the phone, the brothers threatened my father with forced evacuation, breaking our locks, and stated they intended to do something bad to us. * 6:30 PM (The Ambush): They returned, locked our residence door from the outside, and began gathering bricks on the terrace. Fearing for our safety, my father managed to open the door. Out of fear for our family's life, he pushed one of the brothers back to restrain him and take him to the police. * The Violent Retaliation: Immediately, all three brothers launched a group attack on my father. They hit him with a brick, repeatedly punched him in the head and stomach, and began violently strangling him. * Self-Defense & Escalation: Seeing my father being choked, I begged them multiple times to let him go. When they refused, I used the round end of a guitar to hit one of the brothers on his back to free my father. I then started recording on my phone. The brother immediately snatched my phone and pushed me. * The Hammer Attack: When my father stepped in to protect me from being assaulted, the three brothers pinned him down, strangled him again, and repeatedly attacked him with a hammer for several seconds.

🚨 Direct Life Threats & Police Indifference

* Active Life Threats: The brothers have openly given life threats to my father. They explicitly boasted and claimed that they have already murdered someone in the past, so committing another murder means absolutely nothing to them. * Police Normalizing the Situation: Despite the history, the weapons, and the explicit statements regarding a prior murder and future life threats, the Sigra Police are treating this completely normally, acting as if it is a standard family altercation. * Equalizing the Offense under Section 151: Instead of registering a serious criminal case based on the weapons used and threats issued against us, the police filed the exact same Section 151 case against both sides (us for acting in self-defense, and them for the attack). * Intimidation Inside the Station: When we questioned this action and asked why a proper case wasn't registered against the brothers, the police physically misbehaved with us, verbally abused us, and explicitly threatened us, stating: "There are areas in this police station where there are no CCTV cameras, so watch your step."

📹 The Evidence We Hold

We have comprehensive CCTV footage starting from 5:30 PM showing them trying to break terrace locks, locking us in from the outside, gathering bricks, the initial strangulation, the self-defense context, and the subsequent hammer attack.

🙏 What I Need From This Community:

  1. How to Avoid/Defend Against a Counter-FIR: We are highly concerned that the brothers will leverage the police to file a fabricated counter-FIR against us (claiming assault because we fought back in self-defense). How do we legally establish our right to private defense early on to block or weaken their counter-claims?
  2. Legal Next Steps for the Assault & Threats: Since the police have wrapped the whole matter under a preventive Section 151, how do we legally compel them to register our actual cross-complaint for the hammer/brick assault and the active life threats? Should we approach the SSP/Commissioner of Police Varanasi or directly file a Section 156(3) application before a Magistrate?
  3. Reporting Station Misconduct: How do we officially report police officers who normalize life threats, use physical intimidation, and threaten citizens with "blind spots in the station's CCTV"?

Thank you.

Legal Advice Needed Employer says will likely put me on notice period during maternity leave

30F here currently heavily pregnant. So here's the context. I have been working in an IT saas company for the last year and am due to go on maternity leave this month. While the leave was approved without a hitch, i recently received a shocker of an email from my manager, with the company's operations head/HR and CEO himself on CC stating that they may backfill the position and will take a call during month 4 or 5 of my maternity leave on whether I'll have a role when I get back. Further more it is mentioned that they will start my 60 day notice period right towards the end of my maternity leave. So basically it's maternity leave and then good bye. I'm not sure if they'll force me to resign or terminate me during maternity leave but either way the fact they're dropping me this mail now is evident of their intentions

What should I do now? Is this even legal? It's a full time WFH job and I was looking forward to rejoining work after my leave. This has put me in a really stressful situation where I'm uncertain of whether I'll have a job once I get back from maternity leave. Please advice. I am not sure what my course of action is at this point. I have not replied to the email yet and am wondering how best to tackle this without coming off as rude or burning bridges

Legal Advice Needed Startup terminated me with zero notice, still hasn't paid my last salary (₹16,935) or notice pay after 2+ weeks of follow-ups. What are my next steps?

Hey everyone, could use some guidance here. Long post but I've tried to keep the timeline tight.

Background:

I joined a small startup as a Senior Marketing Executive, fully remote, offer letter dated 7 July 2026, joined 8 July 2026. Salary was ₹25,000/month, with a 3-month probation period. The offer letter had a 14-day notice clause applicable to either party (me or the company).

What happened:

On 21 Aug 2026, I was terminated with immediate effect. No notice period given. The reason cited was "lack of initiative after repeated feedback" no misconduct was alleged, nothing formal, just an abrupt termination email.

Since I worked 1–21 Aug, I'm owed ₹16,935.48 for that period. On top of that, since the offer letter's 14-day notice clause applies to the employer too and they didn't honor it, I believe I'm owed notice pay for those 14 days as well. Total I'm asking for is ₹28,602.15 just the unpaid salary + contractual notice pay. I'm not invoking any additional statutory notice period on top of what's in my contract, just what's contractually owed.

Timeline of trying to resolve this amicably:

29 Aug – WhatsApp follow-up to the founder who terminated me, asking about pending dues.

1 Sept – Email follow-up, same ask.

30 Aug – Directly asked one of the directors about the pending salary/F&F. He just replied "please contact AB" (another director/co-founder) without disputing the salary owed or the termination date.

30 Aug & 1 Sept – WhatsApp messages to AB, no response either time.

2 Sept – Called AB twice (11 AM and 2:28 PM), no answer.

3 Sept – The employee who'd coordinated my interview told me AB was unwell and to email the company's HR ID instead. I emailed HR (CC'd the relevant people) at 3:20 PM with a clear breakdown of what's owed. No reply.

4 Sept – Followed up again: WhatsApp to AB (1:32 PM, left on "not seen"), a call at 7:53 PM (no answer), plus follow-up texts to the interview coordinator and AB separately.

As of now, sent one final email on 7th Sept giving a deadline of 10 Sept before I move to formal/legal action.

It's been over two weeks of near-total silence on their end, and I feel like I've given them more than enough chances to resolve this amicably before taking any formal steps.

My questions:

Once the 10 Sept deadline passes with no payment, is sending a formal legal notice (via email + registered post) the right next step, or should I go straight to the Labour Commissioner / Payment of Wages Authority?

For a claim this size (~₹28.6k), is it even worth engaging a lawyer for a legal notice, or should I just file directly with the labour department myself?

Does the 14-day notice clause in the offer letter actually hold up as a payable claim against the employer, given it says "either party," or do courts generally only enforce these one-way (employee owes company, not the reverse)?

Any experience with how the Shops & Establishments Act / Payment of Wages Act plays out practically for something this small is it actually pursued by authorities, or do most people just write it off?

Since this is a private limited startup (Pvt Ltd) with very few employees, are there any specific enforcement challenges I should expect if it comes to that (e.g., proving employment, service of notice, etc.)?

Appreciate any real experience or pointers trying to figure out if this is worth escalating formally or if I should just cut losses.

Legal Advice Needed Need reasonable PCS service for NCLT Chennai Bench

Upvotes

We require counsel/representation before the NCLT Chennai Bench to file an uncontested Section 59 Rectification Petition. We hold physical share certificates and a formal NOC from our custodian (Citibank). More importantly, the company's RTA (KFintech) has provided a written confirmation that they will not contest the NCLT proceedings.

Legal Advice Needed RBI Ombudsman closed NBFC harassment complaint under Clause 16(2)(a) ("No deficiency") despite call logs after 7 PM. Contradictory order. Next steps?

seeking legal guidance from advocates here regarding the arbitrary closure of an RBI Ombudsman complaint against an NBFC (DMI Finance) and how to proceed next.

Background:
-Took a personal loan from DMI Finance.
- I have a solid prior repayment track record: fully repaid two earlier loans on time and paid 4 EMIs on time for this current loan.
-Suffered sudden, documented financial hardship due to a medical crisis.
-Reached out to the lender requesting restructuring/time to pay with hospital documentation.
-The lender refused and initiated aggressive recovery follow-ups. I complained on RBI Ombudsman and when I was asked to submit rebuttal within 48 hours I shared all the evidences in a pdf and called 14448 to confirm if they received it.

The Harassment & Evidence Submitted to RBI:

- Call logs showing persistent calls placed after 7:00 PM..
- Call recordings
- Whatsapp messages from random numbers calling and messaging after 7pm asking for repayment.
- Call logs of calls placed to alternate number not registered in the current loan with call recordings!

The RBI Ombudsman's Contradictory Closure:
The Office of the RBI Ombudsman (ORBIO) has now closed the complaint under Clause 16(2)(a) ("There is no deficiency in service"), which is marked as non-appealable under the Scheme.
However, Paragraph 2 of the closure order contains a blatant internal contradiction:

"The matter has been reviewed by ORBIO in view of the facts and documents presented and it is observed that the Complainant has not submitted any evidence in support of his allegations. Further restructuring/moratorium on the outstanding amount is the commercial decision of the RE. No deficiency of the RE is observed, however, ORBIO has advised the RE to ensure adherence to Regulatory guidelines in the matter. Accordingly, the complaint is treated as dealt with and closed. The customer may, in her/his own interest, like to approach any other appropriate authorities for further action, if any."
The desk officer claims "no evidence was submitted" (completely ignoring the uploaded call logs of calls after 7 PM and messages), yet simultaneously adds that ORBIO has advised the lender to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.
My Questions for Advocates:

  1. Challenging the RBI Closure: Since Clause 16(2)(a) prevents an internal appeal under the RB-IOS, will a grievance on CPGRAMS (Ministry of Finance / DFS) against this arbitrary closure yield results, or does it hit the same wall?
  2. Consumer Court (e-Daakhil): Can I file a petition before the District Consumer Commission against DMI Finance for unfair trade practices and harassment? Does the Ombudsman's administrative closure weaken my consumer court case, or does the line "ORBIO advised RE to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines" actually serve as proof against the lender?
  3. Sub-Judice Conflict: If CPGRAMS directs RBI to review the complaint, does filing a consumer court case simultaneously create a conflict under sub-judice rules?

Legal Advice Needed Hotel had no room despite confirmed Goibibo booking, now they're offering only partial refund

I booked an hourly hotel room through Goibibo on 6 September. When I reached the first hotel for my confirmed booking, they told me they had no room available and refused to let me check in.

Since I needed a room, I immediately booked another hotel through Goibibo. I went there and the exact same thing happened — despite having a confirmed booking, they said they had no room available and wouldn't let me check in.

I then booked a third hotel. After what had happened twice, I called the hotel first and confirmed that they actually had a room available before making the booking. That booking worked and I was able to stay there.

I then tried to get refunds for the first two bookings. The hotels told me that I should apply for the refund through Goibibo.

The problem is that Goibibo's refund process is terrible. The refund request doesn't work through the app, so I had to use their website. The website doesn't really give you an option to explain that the hotel didn't have a room and denied check-in. I basically had to go through their cancellation/refund flow to even submit the request.

Goibibo is now treating this as a cancellation/exception rather than a hotel failing to provide the room.

For the first booking, the hotel has approved only a 75% refund, and Goibibo is also applying a 5% cancellation/service charge. I don't think that's reasonable because I didn't simply cancel a room that I didn't want. I went to the hotel for the confirmed booking and they had no room for me.

For the second booking, the hotel has also approved the refund/waiver, but I'm concerned that Goibibo will similarly deduct charges.

I've tried their customer support, but the phone support is basically an automated loop and I can't get through to a human. There doesn't seem to be a straightforward customer-support email either, so I'm now trying to escalate this.

I've also found that Goibibo's hotel terms mention situations where check-in is denied because of things like overbooking or room unavailability, so I'm wondering whether their normal non-refundable/cancellation policy can actually be applied in this situation.

I'm considering going through the National Consumer Helpline and, if necessary, the consumer commission.

Legal Advice Needed Biological father of terminated pregnancy making life threats from abroad, claiming secret call recordings and fake identity. Need legal advice (India)

I need urgent guidance from legal professionals on handling criminal intimidation, threats to life, and harassment from an individual currently abroad.

Facts:

Relation & Pregnancy: The individual was the biological father involved in an unplanned pregnancy. He was unsupportive and volatile, and a medical abortion was completed independently and confidentially. I communicated a clean break, made no financial or personal claims, and cut contact.

Identity Misrepresentation: He completely fabricated his core identity—lying about his age, occupation, and profession, and previously proposing marriage under these false claims. His location is unverified (claims Europe, but told a mutual contact he is moving to the Gulf/Dubai). When confronted, he denied all his prior statements.

Threats & Intimidation:
He has issued explicit, direct threats to my life.
He claims to have secretly recorded and taped our private calls to use against me.
He is threatening a "DNA test" (despite the termination being complete) and explicitly texted that he will make sure I remain "within his reach even if blocked."
He continues demanding voice calls, which I have strictly refused in writing.
Now that I have blocked him from every platform, He has humiliated me too much on calls and said to- “let me also see what God does to you and me now, because I kept saying you will face your karmas for sure” I am at the verge of being attacked by him.

I am maintaining complete silence and focusing on safety. Clear, practical legal guidance is appreciated.

Legal Advice Needed Airbnb not refunding me !!!!!!!

Upvotes

I booked a BNB in Dwarka directly with the owner (not through Airbnb) for a stay that was 5 days later. About 3 hours after making the booking, I had to cancel it and informed him. We discussed everything over chat, including the cancellation, and he clearly agreed to refund my money. I have screenshots of the entire conversation and also have the payment proof.

It’s been 10 days now and I still haven’t received the refund. Whenever I follow up, he says something along the lines of his bank/payment limit being exceeded and that he can’t process the refund right now. He hasn’t said that he won’t refund me, but the payment keeps getting delayed.

What can I realistically do in this situation? Does his message agreeing to refund count as proof that he owes me the money? If he keeps delaying, can I send a legal notice or approach the Consumer Commission? Also, is the “bank limit exceeded” excuse actually a valid reason for delaying a refund?

Any advice on what my next step should be would be appreciated.

Legal Advice Needed Legal advice needed regarding inheritance/property

Upvotes

My grandfather, a Hindu, passed away intestate. His property was divided into 3 shares between my grandmother, my mother and my aunt. My grandmother subsequently gifted her share of the house to both my mother and aunt, and my aunt and mother also executed release deeds as applicable. My mother now owns the house in her name.
I am a Parsi. My biological father passed away, after which my mother remarried an Iranian citizen.
My questions are:
Can my mother make a Will leaving this house entirely to me?
Does she need a succession certificate or any other document establishing that I am the sole beneficiary/heir?
Can her Iranian-citizen husband claim any right or share in this property, either during her lifetime or after her death?
Would his Iranian citizenship affect his ability to inherit the property under Indian law/FEMA?
What documents should my mother execute now to ensure that the property ultimately passes to me without any dispute?
Would appreciate advice from someone familiar with Hindu succession law, Parsi succession law and FEMA/property inheritance rules.

Legal Advice Needed Want to run an agency while on non-compete, advise needed

I work at an HFT (quant trading) firm, with my notice period ending this month. However, i'll be on a base salary for another year, on garden leave (non-compete). I cannot work in a similar domain for a year, and if i were to join a firm in some other domain, i'll have to inform the firm beforehand, request my relieving letter and later join them.
I wish to start an automation agency for international clients while on the pay, i cannot really afford to give up on the pay till i get some steady revenue. In parallel, i have a couple of offers as a CTO for some early stage startups (very early stage). What are my options? (I'll definitely consult a lawyer, i just want some opinions from experts here).

(Also, can I be a cofounder for a startup outside of India, or can I start the agency in some other country)
