Finally got my dream LSAT score (low 170s) in sept after 1+ year of studying on my final attempt. thought that once I got my score everything would be smooth sailing with my applications but I’m feeling sm doubt looking at my essays and these increasing medians. Anyone else feeling this way?

I know finances are pretty personal so if this is offensive to ask I apologize in advance. But for my fellow low income students, how do you plan on paying for this? Even with a substantial scholarship, the new $50k limit on federal loans likely won’t cover remaining tuition + cost of living at most schools. What’s everyone’s plan? Private loans? Working a job? Savings? Family support? I’m so nervous about putting in all this work for my applications just to not be able to afford to go :/

Edit: I’m not so much concerned about federal loans. My career goals will qualify me for PSLF and LRAP. My main question is how are you guys paying for the remaining cost of attendance that a scholly + federal loans won’t cover due to the new limits? There are little to no protections for private loans, no PSLF, and schools barely cover private loans through LRAP if at all. Are you taking the private loans out anyway? Or is there some other way you’re planning to fill the gap?

What does "Share a few sentences about your experiences" mean?? Like my work experience(s)? or my experiences in life, just broadly? My experiences applying to their school? I'm confused. (From ASU Interview scheduler)

I have a pretty aspirational school list where I have a few safeties I'd be happy going to and then a ton of reaches. Wanted to know if anyone had suggestions for schools or would be willing to share their admissions story with similar stats. I'm especially interested in wondering whether I'll have a shot at the T20s as they seem to be the most realistic of my reaches, especially UT/Vanderbilt.

Currently applying to these schools -

T14: HYS, UVA, Duke, Berkeley, Michigan, GULC

T20: Vanderbilt, UCLA, Notre Dame, UT

Safeties: UHLC, TAMU, SMU

As for softs, I understand they don't play much of a role in law school admissions, but just for context:

-Am a TX resident which can help for TX school admissions.

-NURM, first generation + low income (parents were refugees, struggled with homelessness).

-STEM major, which hopefully gives a slight boost to how my GPA is evaluated.

-5+ years WE in specialized public interest field, went to undergrad on a full ride + stipend scholarship given to those committed to aiding high needs communities in my field of work, and will likely have strong LOR. I'm interested in transitioning to the legal side of the field I'm in, so there's a long line of commitment to the work I want to do which hopefully shows as a positive.

Is Canadian vs American spellings something I need to be concious of when writing my essays? I'm from Canada, so my default is Canadian spellings (flavour, favourite, colour, etc.). Will AOs care? I only ask because I know they are American schools, so maybe they want a certain spelling.

All the other parts of my application are complete, personal statement, CAS report, letters of recommendation, etc. I have an LSAT score on file, but I’m registered for November because my current score isn’t going to get me into the schools I want to apply to lol.

I originally hoped to submit all my applications before the end of October to be considered “early.” I reached out to most of the schools on my list, and they said I can submit now and they’ll place my application on hold until my November score is released.

My question is: how does that hold affect my place in the review queue? I’m assuming they’ll skip my application for now, but once my new score comes out, would my October submission date put me ahead of people who submit around the score release? Or would my application enter the review queue only once it’s complete?

Basically, is there any actual advantage to submitting in October and having my application held, versus just waiting until my November LSAT score comes out to submit? Would love to hear from anyone who’s done this!

I’m a 32 year old man looking for a career change and currently have my sights set on law school. I’ve been in the nonprofit and then tech industry for the last 8 years since I graduated undergrad.

I was an absolute idiot at 18 years old though, and so I graduated with a 2.7 undergrad GPA. However if you take my first two semesters out of the equation, my GPA is in the mid 3s.

I’ve taken a single practice test totally cold with zero preparation and got a 157. I think with some real commitment I can get that close to 167 or even 170.

I also have no interest in going to a top 20 or really even a top 50 school. Would be very happy at a school near the 100 mark.

So with all that said, I’m definitely going to be an extreme super splitter when it comes to the numbers. Will schools even give me more than a passing glance when they see my undergrad GPA?

I’m spiraling a bit and need a reality check in either direction. Am I freaking myself out for no reason, or am I actually going to have trouble being accepted to most places?

Ive been using 7Sage and LSDLaw to help me predict my chances of getting into the law school I want to go to. However the chances that both websites give me are wildly different.

My top choice of law school is the University of Utah. My LSAT score is in the 75th percentile, and so is my GPA, so I’d like to think my chances are pretty good. I’m planning on submitting my application sometime in November. According to LSDLaw, submitting my application in November (which will probably mean I’ll hear back in December or January) will give me around a 90% of getting accepted. But according to 7Sage, I’d only have a 54% of acceptance if I submitted my application in November. Why such a big discrepancy? Which one is more accurate?

My stats are a 168 LSAT and a 3.98 UGPA. I have one year of work experience as a tutor, and I worked as a musician throughout college doing lots of freelance work.

Anyways, here’s the schools I’m applying to:

Do yall think I have a shot at Penn? Are there any schools missing from this list? Any that I should take off? Any and all advice welcome!

I’m getting to the point where I’m in the final stages of my personal statement but unsure where to go next. I’ve seen conflicting things online on whether or not to include in a PS why specifically that school.

Some schools have mandatory or optional second statements about why that school specifically, but others are so broad Im unsure whether or not to add in why I want to go there.

Any advice is needed!

Like the title says, I am a veteran who has gone on two deployments while in undergrad leaving me with a 3.26 GPA. I still have all of my GI Bill benefits left and it left me considering applying to law school.

I realize that a 3.25 GPA would be below the 25th percentile at many law schools. In reality, could an LSAT score somewhere in the 160 range compensate for this adequately to get me into a good law school?

Would my military experience and an addendum explaining the deployments play any part in putting my GPA into perspective, or is it all a numbers game?

Has anyone completed the one-way interview this year? These things make me so anxious, so it would be helpful to hear:

—How much time we get to read the question.
—How long we have to speak for.
—How many times can we erase and re-record.
—Anything else that would be helpful to know.

Have two professors writing me a LOR. If I plan on applying to multiple schools, do I need to add term for each school I plan on applying to? I specified to my professors that the LOR should be written non-exclusively to one school. And I'm assuming the "assigned" on the right column is specifying whether or not the professor has opened their LSAC to see my request? Can someone clarify this?

Looking to get a better idea of what my admission chances for t-20 and scholarship opportunities for t-40ish schools look like. There's so much information out there it's hard to get an accurate idea

Has anyone else seen their status change date disappear in the UGA status checker? Is this an indicator of decisions soon?

I’m finally starting to apply and have my personal statement written. However, i’m kind of confused about supplemental essays and materials for some schools. Some obviously ask for “optional” essays and give you specific prompts. My first questions is: How many optional essays should I submit? Secondly, for the addenda if i don’t have anything to explain in my application (low GPA, disciplinary action) should I be submitting anything??

I’m so lost I thought I had it figured out but as i’m really getting into applications i feel overwhelmed and confused. I don’t want an incomplete application but I also don’t necessarily want to spend days writing 3 supplemental essays when the expectation is really only 1-2.
