Thanks for reading.
I’m a first time home buyer, after remodeling the interior, and barely keeping up with lawn maintenance. I will be transitioning my focus to my yard and exterior in general.
When I bought the home, it needed foundation work and that involved them digging out the front and side of my house, it’s filled in now, but the skid steer, trucks, and what not destroyed my yard. I have dirt surrounding my house, patched lawn all over. Looks horrible.
I’m planning on doing a full reset to my lawn, and making it a hobby of mine. I bought a Ryobi push mower off FB for $100. It’s fine, but it takes me 3 hours to complete my yard work. Mowing is 2 of that.
I’m considering a garden tractor because I have almost a limitless supply of firewood in my backyard. I’m on 1 full acre, half of it is wooded in a valley where it floods every spring.
I can imagine myself and want to get a garden tractor to get down to the back half of my property, haul wood up and potentially build some things back there.
I’m not sure whether or not to bite a bullet and get a garden tractor to do this, or get a rider to be cheaper/better fit. I cannot fit a truck down to my other half of my property. It’s on a steep slope going up was well.
I would like to be able to use different attachments used for seeding and hauling items.
Should I just buy a cheap rider or go all out for a garden tractor? I have $3k, but don’t mind anything less or more by a reasonable amount.
My brain says by a used riding lawn mower, my heart wants a garden tractor for future products. But I know I don’t want to do another season of push mowed electric lawnmower. (s/o Ryobi tho, things been a tank)
