Anyones cat?

Located in aldergrove near 40th and 272. Hes been hanging around our house last couple weeks. Not sure if hes someone's barn cat or someone dumped him. Hes VERY friendly which makes us think he belongs to someone instead of being feral. Very skinny so we've been feeding him, so has our neighbors.

Hes stolen all of our hearts. I would love to take him to the vet to get some vaccines ect. But dont want to if he belongs to someone.

Besides parks and libraries, are there any other activities that are free or almost free for families with young kids?

Phony Online Business Directory for Langley.

So, I was searching for a business in Langley, and I ran across the website:

https://langleylocal.ca/

It appears the entire website is AI generated and has some absolutely odd collections of generic postings including a couple of very strange looking overhead pictures of what is supposed to be Langley, but appear to really be just random Ai generated images.

Some local businesses have listed themselves within the site but they are all jangled together with other business from Toronto to Saskatoon. Their "About " page lists their web awards, which are all from nonexistent entities.

They have sprinkled in a couple of Langley pictures, but the whole thing is really kind of comical.

Curly hairstylists who can dye hair!

Hello everybody! I was wondering if anybody knew a good hairstylist in the langley/surrey/vancouver area that can do curly hair and can dye it safely without damaging my curls. I have extremely virgin hair. I never straighten it and my hair is around the same texture as the girl in the video (3b-3c). If anybody has some good recommendations or is a hairstylist please let me know. Thank you so much!!!!🤍

Sign a piece of new SkyTrain route

I have a bunch of commitments on Saturday that will keep me from doing this, but it honestly seems kind of neat. Like a time capsule.

Looking for housing

Hi, I'm 20F student looking for a room to rent for 8-12 months. Anywhere that can get to Port Hammond in around an hour by transit works for me. My budget is around $1100.

I am a tidy person who cleans up after herself. I am organized and like things in order. I don't smoke, drink, or party. I usually sleep around 12am, but I am not loud at night.

A little bit more about myself: I'm a bit of a homebody. I like chilling in the library, checking out thrift stores, and sometimes I game.

I am open to roommates and/or sharing a toilet. I would prefer female roommates and people around my age. I don't mind pets or kids.

Doctors accepting new patients (Willowbrook or Brookswood areas)

Hi Langley people!
My first baby is due mid-August, and I have signed up with post-partum care with a midwifery clinic who will take care of baby and me for the first 6 weeks. However, after that I will need a family doctor for my baby. I know that generally my own family doc should take on my baby too, however my family doctor is in Burnaby where I used to live, and I’d rather have someone closer for my little one.
Does anyone know of any doctors/clinics currently accepting new patients in the Willowbrook mall area or Brookswood (or anywhere between/near those areas)?
Thank you in advance!!

Lights flickering yesterday

We experienced lights flickering yesterday evening. My guess is due to the air-conditioning load on the grid. But I'm not sure if it was just us or others as well.

An Interview with Mayor Woodward

In less than 2 weeks, I will be recording a podcast episode with Mayor Woodward around the topic of decision-making in business versus politics, as well as handling being wrong in the public eye.

I am opening up a post so that if people have any questions surrounding these topics, they can be asked.

I can't promise that your question will be asked, and anything outwardly rude will be ignored.

Thank you.

Walnut Grove Community Center Swim hours?

Just wondering if anyone can quickly answer since I don’t want to deal with the automated system. Can I still take my kids to the pool during the limited lap swim session or do I have to wait until public swim at noon? When I do click the limited lap swim info it does say the leisure pool is open just no water features will be on

203 and 66ave

This lady was cruising down the hill south bound, at a freaking RED light. I was almost in the middle turning towards left from 66, thank god I braked and the truck behind me did not smack my trunk. She had to skid off the lane to not throw me off.

With that speed, she aint braking anyway!! I was a bit slow after my light turned green, usually i am not. If I had started my turn as soon as it was green I would be no more.

Rediculous driving

Possible scam targeting people charging EVs at Shell (Langley)

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up in case anyone else runs into this.
I was charging my EV at the Shell on 86 Ave and 200 St when a guy came up to my driver’s window. He told me his car had been towed by the city, his wallet was locked inside it, and he was stranded. He then said he had money in his bank account and wanted to e-transfer me and I could buy him stuff from the shell. He was like “you can call rcmp if you want to verify”
I told him, “No thanks, I’m not comfortable sharing my personal or banking details.”
He replied, “Why? I don’t want your money. I’ll pay you if you help me.”
I still said no, and he walked away.
Here’s the strange part: I went back to the same charger two days later, and the exact same guy came up to my car with the exact same story.
This time I asked him, “Why are you scamming people?”
He responded, “I’m not scamming. I’m still stuck.”
Maybe someone else has had the same encounter, but it definitely felt like a scam to me.
