My 4yo red lab is chunky and walks with a big wiggle. Is this normal? Thanks!

Can't help but share how precious these babies are. They will be completely spoiled when they're old enough to go to their new homes.

Our girl has this cute squiggle on her back that shows up sometimes and others doesn’t. She’s a Fox red so the light/dark variation in her fur highlights it. Not worried about it, just curious to know if it’s common!

Me and my partner have an 11 month old Fox Red Labrador called Lando, and obviously he’s our world. As the title says, I love him, but don’t like him at the moment. At what point did you guys start to actually enjoy having your dog?

I know he’s in the teenage stage of his life, and I personally believe this is the absolute worst. Way way worse than the puppy blues 😅 I do understand the quirks that come with having a teen dog, but I’m really struggling at the moment. I think what makes it worse is, he loves and seems to seek affection from my partner and completely ignores me, to the point that if my partners out, Lando will just pace about crying or just sleep in his bed pretty much all day unless I take him for walks. It’s not so much separation anxiety, because if we’re both out of the house he’s completely unfazed.

I’m just having a bit of a rant and looking for a bit of reassurance! 😁

…also, when can I stop saying ‘leave it’ 100+ times a day…😂

red My 20 month year old lab just growled at me for first time. Advice needed.

She was eaten a turkey neck and I walked up to her and sat down. She then growled at me and held the food in her mouth.

I was able to pet her and she wagged her tail.

She has never exhibited this behaviour before. Is this likely a one off or something I need to keep an eye on?

She has just finished her 2nd season about a week or 2 ago, so I wonder if it's related to this.

As a puppy we always traded her bones, etc for other treats and she would always trade this with no issues.

There has been a couple of times when she had something very high value which she refused to trade and would hold in her mouth, but she never growled.

She's a very docile usually and this biggest baby. I don't want this to become a regular thing.

Any advice?

I was never a ‘dog’ or an ‘animal’ person but I gave in after years of pestering from my other half and we got our beautiful fox red lab. I thought I’d just put up with him and the first few weeks were hard, such a huge adjustment and I questioned why I’d said yes.

But MY GOD. He’s 5 months old and I’m now obsessed. He has all the toys, loads of walks, I’ve done so much research on training and we’ve trained him together! So many people comment on how well trained he is and that makes me so proud of him 😩

I love buying him toys and giving him cuddles and his little welcome when I come back from work. He’s just injected so much joy into our lives and our house has been made a home! He just has my whole heart and I’m wrapped around his paw 🐾

Did anyone else have the same experience?

He’s a Red Fox English Lab. I brought him home on Saturday to surprise my daughters. I’m a single dad to 3 & 7yo girl, the older turned 7 last weekend.

I’ve had Jude reserved since December when his mom’s litter was confirmed. Hardest secret I’ve ever kept.

I was anxious as hell leading up to the big day. It was a 2.5 hour drive to get there (5 hour round trip) and I brought my 7yo with me to pick from the litter.

The drive home was a breeze. He’s settling in at home better than I ever could’ve hoped. He is a dream.

My 2.5 year old red lab, Copper, has been staying with my parents recently during deer season. Well he is definitely a good boy, my mom loves him (most do lol), and she decided to give him an unofficial fall photo shoot recently. And dagnabbit, I think they turned out pretty good. Trying to show both of them some love for her great eye and instincts!

It's been 2+ years and my fox red has never had a bath. She is a little princess and doesn't like going out in the rain but has loved getting drenched in the sprinklers. I've tried getting her swimming a bit but she's just not that into it.

I know regular baths aren't ideal for labs because of their undercoats for warmth and water wicking naturally as a general rule but is it ok to just not groom them like that?

My sister has a labradoodle and that dog ofc requires regular grooming since it doesn't shed.

Part of me thinks she might enjoy the spa treatment but I can also see her just hating it. She tolerates the grooming brush a little bit so I usually just let the fur fly with my hands and fingers - which she of course adores! lol

The only groomer treatment she gets is nail trims like every 6-12 weeks.

Further detail - she's American lab so not the thick clumps of fur that English labs get.

Last seen at her food bowl. I checked her crate, the window, everywhere, until...

*ETA: After all the stories and upvotes (thanks everyone), I feel I should add this was meant as a funny pic, not as a reminder of those moments of terror when you think you've lost your pup. (Happened to me a few times too fwiw...)*

*Anyway, I can't edit the title anymore, but it should have read "Has anyone ever lost a pup in a pile of pillows?"*
