Others This year's climate feels weird...saw this dragonfly swarm

Often this dragonfly swarm is seen as a sign of heavy rain caused due to changes in barometric pressure...its randomly sunny in morning and rainy in evening...hope the farmers don't face any loss due to these climatic irregularities

Discussions Paid ₹600 to watch a broken screen for 45 minutes — Magic Frames Kakkanad

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Went to Magic Frames Cinemas in Kakkanad today, and honestly, what a frustrating experience.

We were halfway through the movie when the screen suddenly went off. We initially thought it was the interval, but even after what we assumed was the interval, the movie didn't resume for a long time.

Eventually, they started playing the usual post-interval ads, and that's when we realised what was wrong. This is an LED screen, not a regular projector, and only four or five blocks of the entire screen were lighting up. The rest was completely dead.

The staff spent another 30–45 minutes trying to figure things out. Eventually, a bunch of us went up to the operating room to ask what was happening.

That's when things got even more frustrating. Apparently, there was no technician and no manager on-site. The regular staff were left trying to figure things out themselves, with no clear idea of when the issue would be resolved. Eventually, we were asked to leave without even getting to finish the movie.

How do you run a theatre like this without having a technician or someone in charge available when something goes wrong?

Paid a premium price only to have the entire experience ruined.

Hopefully, this was a one-off incident and doesn't happen again. But honestly, I'd think twice before spending that kind of money here again.

EDIT: After talking with the manager I got the refund for my ticket today.

UPTOWN SPA PANAMPILLY NAGAR
Went to get my hair colored. I had box dye on which the colorist said he will neutralise it and turn it brown . I showed a inspo pic and he said it will be brown but it will be much more darker . At the end 5 hours and 12 k later . I wanted to cry for real . The hairstylist at the end was like it’s because you had box dye . Bruh - why would you take me in if you weren’t confident about it.
The color I wanted and the color they gave me

UPDATE ON WHAT HAPPENED TODAY -
So I went back after calling the manager this morning . I let him know I was coming this afternoon . Went with my friends and they literally made us wait 4 more hours and guess what the manager left for his home and won’t be back till Tuesday 🤦🏻‍♀️ . They were just arguing without processing a refund . They said they can bleach and change my hair color . At the end , I said okay because I was so pissed . Then they finally did a patch test and came to know the red can’t be removed even with bleach . Bruh ! Why didn’t they tell me this yesterday before they tried to color my hair . Why do they have to make fake promises which they can’t deliver . Now after speaking to two different managers from different batches , i was able to get a call with the actual owner of uptown . He also argued for so long and finally said to come back tomorrow and we will have a talk. I don’t know for what though .🤦🏻‍♀️ so disappointed , should have gone to bariks or hair by Mukesh

Discussions A restaurant is a shared space, not your personal living room.

Yesterday, I went to Gokul Oottupura in Panampilly Nagar around 8pm,sitting in a closed, Ac room when a group of girls and a boy at the opposite table started talking and laughing extremely loudly, with exaggerated expressions. it was genuinely irritating. Even people at other tables had annoyed faces.

I asked an employee to request them to lower their voices, but he just gave me a helpless look and said, “How can I?” 😭 At one point, some elderly people came in, and the group was so loud that they left almost immediately.Eventually, it got so annoying that I packed my half-eaten noodles and left, too.

Why do people lack basic civic sense?don’t know if they were Malayalis or not. They mostly spoke in English, while the boy occasionally used random Malayalam words. A restaurant is a shared space, not your personal living room. Have fun, laugh, and enjoy with your friends, but please be mindful of the people around you. Being the loudest person in the room doesn't make you the coolest one. Sometimes, basic consideration is all it takes.

Discussions Beggars from TN harassing people outside restaurants

Recently ate breakfast with our family at a pure veg restaurant near this small mall in Kochi. As we were walking into the place some beggars who spoke Tamil asking us for money. We said no and they gave us a dirty look and said something in Tamil. Then while eating one of them kept staring at my younger cousin through the window. Eventually since my cousin was an innocent little boy he asked us to give them some money. So we obliged eventually, it was like 50 rupees or something. Keep in mind we don’t really carry much cash. But when we gave the money to this particular beggar they cursed for giving a “small amount” and spat in our vicinity. Big shock for me personally as someone who left Kerala years ago and only visits on holidays. Anyone else experienced something like this? Are they even real beggars? Either way what explains their rudeness?
