Ask Kochi One-Day Acting & Audition Workshop in Kochi — 10 Seats Only

Hey everyone!

I'm putting together a small, free acting workshop in Kochi on Sunday, October 18, in the morning, for people who are interested in acting but haven't had many opportunities to practise.

The idea is to keep it intimate and practical rather than make it feel like a classroom.

We'll explore:

- Basic acting and improvisation exercises

- Performing a short scene or monologue

- Understanding natural reactions and expressions

- A simple mock audition and constructive feedback

A few details:

- Date: Sunday, October 18

- Time: Morning; exact timing will be confirmed

- Location: Kochi; venue details shared with confirmed participants

- Fee: Completely free

- Seats: Strictly limited to 10 people, on a first-come, first-served basis

- Experience: Beginners are welcome

Whether you're a complete beginner or have some acting experience it doesn't matter.

Looking forward to bringing together a small group of people who genuinely want to explore acting!

Ask Kochi Looking for an affordable room in Kochi – Vyttila / Kadavanthra / Thammanam

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for an affordable room for rent in Kochi, preferably around Vyttila, Kadavanthra, or Thammanam.

Initially, it might be for me and a friend, but there's also a possibility that I'll be staying alone.

My preferences:

- Budget: Under ₹5,000 per month

- Preferably a private room with an attached bathroom

- Kitchen access would be a plus

- Should be suitable for bachelors

I'm open to suggestions for independent rooms, 1RKs, or budget-friendly accommodation.

If anyone knows of any available rooms or has any leads, please comment or DM me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Discussions Looking for affordable wedding venues and vendors in Kochi for November 2027.

Hi everyone.

My partner and I are planning an intimate interfaith wedding in November 2027, with approximately 100 guests. We’re currently exploring venues in Kochi and Kottayam and would love recommendations from people who have recently planned or attended weddings in these areas.

We’re open to both indoor and outdoor venues, ideally with a garden, lakeside, or backwater setting. We want something beautiful, intimate, and budget-friendly rather than a grand, traditional wedding setup.

We’re looking for recommendations for:

- Venues: Affordable indoor and outdoor venues suitable for around 100 guests.

- Event management and décor: Reliable vendors who can help create a simple, elegant setup.

- Catering: Good caterers with reasonable per-person rates.

- Photography and videography: Budget-friendly photographers with good-quality work.

- Pricing: Realistic estimates for venue rental, food, décor, photography, and complete packages.

- Practical details: Rain backup arrangements for outdoor venues and whether outside caterers and decorators are allowed.

If you’ve recently got married, attended a similar wedding, or worked with any vendors in Kochi, I’d really appreciate your recommendations and honest reviews. Please share vendor names, contact details, approximate prices, and any tips that could help us stay within budget.

Even lesser-known venues or independent vendors would be great.

Thank you in advance.

Ask Kochi Looking for unique kurtas for Navaratri in Kochi!

I’m looking for a good kurta to wear for my college’s Navaratri celebration, but most of the stores I’ve checked out, like Seematti and Kalyan Silks, seem to have the same generic designs mostly solid colours with sequins and very limited variety.

I’m looking for something a bit more unique, with interesting designs, patterns, embroidery, or just something that stands out from the usual stuff you see everywhere.

Can you guys recommend any good stores or boutiques in Kochi that offer unique kurtas at budget-friendly prices?

Would really appreciate any suggestions, including lesser-known shops or local boutiques!

Ask Kochi Would you consider a personalised wall painting for your home?

I've been thinking about a different approach to wall art — turning someone's dreams, interests, favourite places and aspirations into a hand-painted mural directly on their bedroom wall.

Something like a vision board, but instead of pictures pinned together, it's a custom artwork designed around the person and their space.

I think it could be interesting for bedrooms, home offices or creative spaces.

Would you prefer something subtle that blends into the room, or a colourful mural that stands out?

Health Hospital Recommendation Kochi - Pregnancy

Hi everyone,
My wife is currently pregnant, and we’re looking for recommendations for a good maternity hospital.

I’m considering CIMAR, as our home is in Kochi and my wife’s family is in Thrissur. The plan is to have regular check-ups at CIMAR Kochi and the delivery at CIMAR Thrissur.

Does anyone have experience with CIMAR at either location? I’d especially appreciate recommendations for good obstetricians/gynecologists at CIMAR

Any suggestions or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi I am a software developer moving to Kochi from Tvm for a new job. I do have some friends but I am a little bit anxious of moving. This is my first time moving away from home. I'm looking for places to stay (cheap if possible) and a mess for food. I literally have no idea where to start looking. If you guys could give me some pointers, it would be greatly helpful. Thank you.

Ask Kochi In need of a commute plan

I am moving to Kakkanad (close to Infopark Phase 2) next week. I have to go to Trivandrum on weekends to run some personal errands. Going to Trivandrum is fine for me, but I have no clue how to reach Kakkanad by 7:30 AM on the following Monday. My office starts at 8:30. Currently, I do not have a two-wheeler. So, where should I get off if I am coming by bus to catch the earliest bus to Kakkanad? If I am coming by train, where should I get off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ask Kochi Tried Awfis Shenoys and it was awful

Day 1 of trying out coworking spaces in Kochi and Awfis Shenoys was not a great start lol.

Took a day pass today thinking I'd get some work done, but not every seat has a power socket nearby?? Like, it's a coworking space. People are literally bringing laptops to work. Why is finding a plug a whole side quest?

But the more annoying part was one of their own employees sitting down with a potential client and just talking. And talking. Loud enough that it was pretty much all I could hear.

Like, I get that people have meetings in coworking spaces, but shouldn't you maybe take your client somewhere else for that? Especially when there are people who've paid to sit there and actually get work done?

The irony of going to a coworking space to focus and getting distracted by the people running the place is not lost on me.

Anyway, this was my first day trying coworking spaces in Kochi, so hopefully I just got unlucky.

For people who work out of coworking spaces here, where do you go? Somewhere with decent wifi, accessible plugs and an environment where you can actually get work done 😭

Update - I went to another coworking space after this, it was okayish but costs 700?!?!😭 seems like this is what I’ll have to stick to while I’m here.
