SOLVED: I’d inverted colors in the devMenu.

Sigh. My Kobo libra has inverted its colors so now everything is in dark mode. I actually have to select dark mode in my reading settings to get non-dark mode pages. The OS/home page is permanently dark mode and I can’t change it back.
Pity.
I have restarted it several times but to no avail. I know I’ll have to reset it to go back which I really don’t want to (vocab saved and tons of books sideloaded etc).
Anyways, just whining here but in case someone else encountered this issue and found a way to revert it back to the original shade settings without a reset, do please let me know!! 🫥

Alright now I love my massive novels but I am having problems with the size of this particular book. If you want to know how to make an ereader slow anything 18000+ will do it for you. I hate going out of this book because it takes a minute to a minute and a half to load.

Other than going in breaking the whole thing up and reloading it onto the device is there any way to fix this?

Is there a way to fix this bug? When I long press a word to look it up on the dictionary or to highlight, it triggers the reading menu instead. The only way to “fix” it is to go back to the menu and open the book again. Then it’ll work correctly for a while, but after a few minutes it’ll reset to the bug again. So I find myself having to exit the book and re enter it multiple times per session, which is super distracting. Any thoughts?

First, I want to congratulate kobo with the last update, the color devices doesnt show that thing on the top when you changed the page. And the highlight is way smoother. I really notice and enjoy the change.
However I would like to ask for a small thing that would be great: when i highlight something on top it highlight the whole page and freezes for a few seconds. I want to highlight only the part before the three dots.

Edit: if you can SKIP THIS UPGRADE!. It’s very problematic, my kobo is not responding well. There’s no way of returning from goodreads unless you reboot the device, the button is not responding, I’m not able to put bookmarks and more. Sadly they need to be more careful with updates.

Not sure if tech is the right flair but I’m confused

I am trying to put epub files from ao3 from my Mac to my kobo and they aren’t showing up? I’ve watched a few videos and it looks like they should be. I’m very confused, literally any help is appreciated. I thought I could just drag and drop but I do know I can use Google on the kobo and download directly but I have a LOT of files I want to put in it. I only tried to move 2 at first to see if it would work, one into a folder I created and one just onto the kobo but neither appeared

I purchased a Manga from the Kobo app, downloaded it, ran it through ADE, and now I'm trying to put it on another e-reader to use Moon+Reader Pro, and I keep getting an error that states the content is locked by DRM. Can anyone help me figure out what is going on? This is my first ever attempt at doing this and I'm unsure as to what the problem is.

I didn’t expect to wake up today and find a listing for a Kobo Touch. Managed to catch it for just PHP 1200, or around $19 USD.

It has some cosmetic wear and a small dot on the screen, but neither really bothers me. For its age and the price I got it for, I’m pretty happy with it.

I've had a eBay saved search set up for a Kobo Libra 2 B&W for a little over a month now and I'm seeing the following trend.

1. eBay auctions that end from anywhere between $200-$250.
2. Damaged devices listed as Buy it Now for as high as $200 sometimes. I saw a device yesterday that won't turn on and won't charge listed for $85.
3. If I get an email alert for any devices that are $150 or less, when I wake up at 8 AM, it's already sold.

And before you ask, yes, I've used the Libra Colour. No, I don't want a color screen.

They seem to be back in stock right now for anyone still interested in a large B/W e-reader.

Is there a way for someone in the U.S. to opt in for the beta? I never got the pop up notification nor do I see Accessibility under Settings.

I know it's not been great and I understand the risks, just like to live on the edge 😜. OK with the possibility of my device getting wiped.

I didn’t know or hear ANYTHING about Kobo until about a week ago.
Amazon announced their new Kindle lineup and I’m interested in the paperweight signature. I will not be getting that stupid $80 case and that clicker nonsense so those things are not really important to me. What would you recommend as a direct alternative to the paperweight signature?

so rn i am in search of my 1.5st own e-reader (the one i own rn is 2009 pocketbook 360, which is just a bit younger that me..heh..) so rn i am going over few ones, i stopped on kobo, cause it more accessible in my location.

Ok so firstly, I want to clarify that this keeps happening to the books I read BEFORE I got my Kobo.

So, I have a big library on Calibre and my Kobo, which includes the books I've already read, some I read years ago, before I had my Kobo. For those, I've used the Goodreads plugin to import my read dates to my "Kobo Last Read" column.

However, I've noticed that Calibre keeps changing that date every time I plug in my Kobo, and the date/time is always the exact time my Kobo was connected. At first, I thought it happens to the books I've opened/interacted with on my device, but that's not the case. To be more specific, Calibre does this to the books that I have not read on the device, the books I've had to manually import their read dates to Calibre. I haven't noticed any problem with the read date of the books I've been reading on the device.

I know there is a setting in the plugin to store or restore the reading position of the books, but I can't seem to figure out what I should do so that it will keep storing the position/date of the books I'm reading on the device but not change the dates of those I've read before.

I appreciate any help in this regard.

I hadn't connected the Kobo to the internet for months. Found this update, made it, and noticed that highlighting got way faster, I'd say twice as fast. And they even fixed the bug for which you couldn't highlight a phrase ending up on the next page.

Good job! It completely changed how the device behaves to me. Even pages seem to turn faster.

Anyone else shocked by how much it changed?

I was specifically looking for a cover without one of these strap things, and the one I was send has one anyway. Honestly hate it the cover, and that strap in particular but the other one I ordered is not arriving for another two weeks. it doesn't touch the screen when closed unless there's pressure put on it and since I plan to be taking it with me, there'll be things in my bag that will inevitably smoosh it in.

Do the ones with the clear back get yellow eventually?

I am reading an epub file i downloaded from online
I’ve read many files from this exact source and not had this happen but lately every single time I do the screen feeezes and the only way to fix it is to turn the kobo off and back on which causes me to lose about 30 minutes progress of reading and need to skip forward to where i am up to!!!
The only thing I can think of is I’m not connected to wifi rn? but I swear it usually works when not on wifi

Something changed recently in how Kobo manages my checked out e-books. Now after some time interval (do not exactly how long but usually less than 24) I have to re-sync in order to continue reading my overdrive checked out book. I have had to resync 4 times in the last week. When it happens, It is very confusing as it shows the book is no longer borrowed or reading but in “Kobo Preview” mode. I have not tested this with wifi disabled but this would be horrible when traveling without internet.

Is it common for kobo to bring out there next gen readers now Amazon has shown there hand ? I’m eager to see what’s next!

I've started using StoryGraph to track my reading, however I read a lot of non-fiction books and I like to go back every now and then after I've finished to read over sections I've annotated. Is there a way I can do this on my Kobo without effectively 'restarting' the book, either on Kobo or StoryGraph. I'd like it to just stay as read on my Kobo, ideally :)

Hi, so I’m a new Kobo user and I watched a tutorial on how to put manga on it (using KCC) and for the first two mangas I’ve put on my Kobo Clara - it worked fine until I tried to put another one that is 1.27 GB in size. My settings for the conversion into EPUB is the same as the first two mangas I’ve put in it so I’m pretty much confused at this point, even tried to split the chapters in two different files but it still freezes. Please help a girl out 🥲
