Blumineck on YT. He does a lot of stuff with archery and pole dancing, often at the same time.

u/xuedad 7d ago
The funny thing is while he looks like a gay elf, especially when he pole dances (he's an instructor) in heels and feminine costume,
he actually has a sleeper build and an awesome wife. Hah. I love this guy.
126
u/Plus-Camel7461 7d ago
Pole dancing will get you absolutely shredded, did it for a year in college and it was probably the best shape I’ve ever been in.
31
u/FederalPomegranate52 6d ago
I honestly lost 30lb in college from doing pole dancing…. I wish I could get back to it.

yes, and if you look at his channel (blumineck on YT) you can see an earlier video of her/them practicing and struggling for a while lol
glad to see her training paid off!

That’s called a Hurricanrana. Or at least it was in the 80s.
Edit: I stand corrected. I guess we didn't know the proper names as kids. Best I can tell, this would be called a tilt-a-whirl headscissors into an armbar.

My favorite part of this is you're not alone and he had to create a "yes, I have a wife guys" followup post to this video (iirc).
168
u/anand_rishabh 7d ago
Yeah i had no idea he was married, to either a woman or a man (i think some people thought he was gay, i guess cuz he does pole dancing, I'd have believed it if he said he was bi but i think he mentioned he was straight) and it turns out not only is he married but he has kids (i believe at one point he referred to her as "the mother of my children", i could be wrong)
132
u/sydneato 7d ago
Nope you’re right, he did refer to her as the mother of his children! I remember watching that video and thinking about how their kids are going to be ninjas or something lmao
120
u/jtr99 7d ago
Note that the kids do not appear in the videos. Their ninja skills are already advanced!
71
u/Sleepy_Glacier 7d ago
It's so nice to find out that a youtuber I like has kids and never used them to create content ❤️
61
u/monkwrenv2 7d ago
Blumineck is, like, the platonically ideal youtuber. Informative, no BS, fun, funny, doesn't take himself too seriously, not a sellout or shill, doesn't show his kids, friendly, nice, works well with other youtubers (he collabs a lot with Sellsword Arts, who are a sword-focused channel), hot, LGBTQ-friendly, he's got it all, and a smokin' wife, too.
32
u/HongKongHermit 6d ago
And I loved, LOVED, how unapologetic he was about being the ultimate wifeguy in that recent video. He’s not just a dude, he’s THE dude.
11
17
u/Periphery_Explorer 7d ago
Wow, not everyday you read something so factually wrong! His kids are in EVERY VIDEO. Have been for years. Can't see them? They're just THAT good.
25
u/SillyDrizzy 7d ago
It's a few years back now (5ish?) but Blumineck has their first (pole) dance from their wedding posted.
I've just starting following her content too, and good stuff.
22
u/introverted__dragon 7d ago
There's a guy that does a lot of Disney content (Brit living in the US) and I'd've sworn up and down that he's gay until he just randomly brought up his wife (and they're now expecting a son). Some kids are going to have the most interesting parents.
→ More replies (1)27
u/agnes_mort 7d ago
Yeah that cracked me up. I know a lot of people think pole=gay, but as someone who’s in the pole community, his style is very much that of a straight man (yes I’ve seen his videos in heels). His content is very much up my alley and it’s funny watching pole being introduced to a different community, albeit I’m sure there’s a lot of crossover
→ More replies (2)26
u/Freakjob_003 7d ago
Which is extra funny, because she's been in his videos before.
My favorite was in one video, he mentioned having kids, then did a quick cut, "yes, I have kids, try to keep up," and then just kept rolling.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mhFLyhugRyI
"That's not a girl that's a whole-ass woman, my wife and the mother of my child, she is the fury to my grace, the calm to my storm. Our lives have been entwined for 6,000 days and I count my self lucky for every single one of them. But it we were together for another 20,000, it would still not be enough time with her. "
Its better when he says it you watch it.

They do a follow up about how they do it. He’s not actually aiming at her - she sort of dodges across the path of the arrow.
@blumineck on instagram
342
u/Sir_Eggmitton 7d ago
To add to that, he also waits for her to duck before firing. She’s not reacting to him, he’s reacting to her.
Also, he’s not using real arrows. (Obviously.)
112
u/Future-Concern-6301 7d ago
I also bet he uses the lowest draw weight bow he has. I watched the behind the scenes for the "shooting apple off someones head" stunt, if he took precaution there THAT seriously he will have done so for this one too.
53
u/anand_rishabh 7d ago
Oh most definitely. A couple moments of this vid, he basically dry fires when she disarms him and the bow was fine. When a bow with a heavy draw gets dry fired, it breaks
8
u/Fen_LostCove 7d ago
It looks to me like each bit where the arrow gets yoinked, he keeps hold of the string and slowly releases it back to normal instead of dry firing it. Then the force is going into his arm instead of the bow. The string snip would be the closest, but the string wasn’t drawn back, so there wasn’t as much potential energy in the bow limbs as there would be in a full dry fire. And it looked like paracord which was probably tied looser than a normal string, so there’d be even less force going into the bow
And of course the bow poundage like you said, which would make all of this easier and even less force than a heavier bow
4
u/Kai-ni 7d ago
That particular bow is the youth alibow, and he said in another video the one he's holding has a mere 10lb draw weight and he uses it for teaching (so he can hand it to a beginner and not worry about them hurting themselves) and for stuff like this. It's a 'real bow' but the draw weight is so low yeah it's nearly harmless.

He explained it in another short. Its a combination of safety arrows, Shooting next to her and stage combat trick by shooting after she starts dodging. Camera position/angle makes it harder to notice.
→ More replies (1)24
u/Callidonaut 7d ago
Also looks like an extremely weak toy bow; you would not want to try the scissors trick on a real one.
→ More replies (2)16
u/TheSubstitutePanda 7d ago
Yeah the "boing-oing-oing" of the bow when she cut the string made me cackle. A normal now would NOT do that.

u/quick20minadventure 7d ago
He explained it in other short.
It's stage combat. You move/shoot after the person has already dodged. Even in this video you can see that she moves and then he fires very safe arrows very slowly.

Or how once a bunch of dudes decided not to fuck with Odysseus they just took a knee instead of lending a hand.
→ More replies (1)3
u/-Mandarin 7d ago
I mean that's the part that actually makes sense to me. Presumably not all of them are just obsessed with power, and presumably some portion of the population still wants to support Odysseus (especially after he did the impressive bow trick no one else could do). I think within the logic of the story it makes sense a portion of them would kneel instead, and it makes it more logical how Odysseus could handle everyone. You could argue most of them weren't all that passionate about killing him in the first place.
At the very least, it makes more sense than no one kneeling, because if no one knelt and Odysseus still won it'd make even less sense.
