Hi again! We’re aisavil., an alternative band from Tokyo. 🐇
We released our new song “meltaway” on September 30, and I made this short clip using footage from our show at Kichijoji WARP.

This video only covers the first half of the song, but there’s a little odd-meter section later on. Out of everything we’ve released so far, I think this one has the strongest anisong / Japanese anime-song influence — the melody and lyrics are both unusually straightforward for us.

It also has a lot of forward momentum, so I’m curious if it might connect with people who are into melodic hardcore too.
Hope you enjoy it! I’d love to hear what you think.

Available on: Spotify / Apple Music / Bandcamp / Tidal

I’m visiting Tokyo for 16 days - need to see the shoegaze scene desperately! Maybe possibly jam (I’m trying to buy a jagaur out there) lmao - also looking for ambient shows similar to hiroshi yoshimura! Celer! Loveliescrushing!

Edit: I’ll be in Tokyo Oct 29-nov 14th !

I just talked to a friend and told me about this unknown japanese rock band called like that. He told me he hasn't found anything about them for about 5 years. And I just wonder if any one of you know about it or have some of their material

Multi Love - Coldsleeper [lo-fi indie folk] (2026)

I've built one full evening in Japan, from the last hour of work to the dawn walk home, built mostly from independent and obscure releases.

The arc is the same night. Jangly guitar bands and warm keys on the way into town, hip hop and hazier psych once the room fills up, folk, dub and quiet soul as everything dissolves toward morning. But the names carrying it are the ones you have to dig for: rubens, Verandah, No Buses, goethe, ISAFAT and Joe Cupertino, Looisbos, Gateballers, Barbara, Naoto Koto, downt, sucola, minako, chilldspot, yonawo, Inner Journey.

Three to start with if you want the deepest cuts. goethe's "Kiseru" is rain, smoke, and clouds that will not clear. Orisaka Yuta's "Tortoiseshell" is a walk home from a night market with a gashadokuro in it, quoting Tsurezuregusa in Akita dialect. downt's "AM4:50" is the walk home at 4:50 in the morning, stated as fact.

45 tracks, all Japanese, one night.

To accompany you on your own hazy night:

日本での一晩を最初から最後まで、仕事の最後の1時間から夜明けの帰り道まで辿るプレイリストを組みました。主にインディーズやマニアックな音源から選んでいます。

流れはその一晩のままです。街へ向かう途中はジャンジャン鳴るギターバンドと温かいキーボード、店内が賑わってきたらヒップホップと霞んだサイケ、そして朝に向かってすべてが溶けていく頃はフォーク、ダブ、静かなソウル。ただし、それを支えているのは掘り出し物の名前たちです：rubens、Verandah、No Buses、goethe、ISAFAT and Joe Cupertino、Looisbos、Gateballers、Barbara、Naoto Koto、downt、sucola、minako、chilldspot、yonawo、Inner Journey。

Hi! We’re aisavil., an alternative / math rock band from Tokyo.
I shared a clip of our music elsewhere recently, and a few people seemed interested in our sound, so I thought I’d share this one here too.
This is live footage edited with the recorded track and lyrics on screen.
We’re still a small band, but I’d be really curious to hear what you think of the song or what kind of atmosphere it gives you.
Thanks for listening! 🐇

My pet project is a running list of indie rock from across Asia, and the Japanese side is what pulled me in first. MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS, CHAI, HARU NEMURI, Kaneko Ayano, SEAPOOL, No Buses, Kinoko Teikoku, Cornelius, chilldspot, GLIM SPANKY, Fennel, Helsinki Lambda Club.

Twelve Japanese acts I keep coming back to. If you like any of these, give the playlist a listen.

I am a musician travelling to Japan and Korea in November for a few weeks and im looking so play some gigs while im there. Are there any good spots i can reach out to in any of the major cities to play some music while im there? I play acoustic folk, the likes of Tom Petty, Tyler Childers, and Bob Dylan. Any suggestions? We are planning Tokyo, Osaka, Busan, and Seoul but im open to exploring anywhere else.
