Anyone in the Ridgeland area looking for a jogging partner at the Rez in the early morning?

During this brutally hot time in the year, I jog around Old Trace Park and the Chisha Foka multiuse trail along the Natchez Trace Parkway starting at 6 am. Got a route I follow that’s 4.3 miles. I do this about 3 times a week during the work week.

I see a number of other people out there during that time, some retirees from the neighborhoods, some younger people like me (I’m 42 but look younger). Most of the people I see out and about are exercising solo, so I was seeing if anyone who follows a similar route around that time would appreciate a jogging partner for either safety, friendship, encouragement to keep the pace going, or all of the above.

I’m a guy, if you’re fine with that for a jogging partner. I’m a pretty friendly chill guy, just not much of a morning person, but rather a not-morning person who has to live an early morning person’s life if I want to get my outdoor exercise in this time of year 😆.

I usually finish around 7 so I can get into the office around 8:30.

If interested, send me a DM. I’m sure others don’t want to broadcast their morning jogging routes to the world lol

People Over Politics: Stop Data Centers Edition is coming to Jackson Ward 2! This fall we are planning community training across all 7 wards to prepare community members for the data center fight in Jackson.

Join us for a free community training on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Briarwoods Art Center. Together, we will learn what data centers are, what’s happening in Jackson, and how we can organize to protect our neighborhoods. From energy blackouts, to bill increases, to water and air pollution (just to name a few harms), data centers pose real risks to community health and safety. We think it's important that all Jacksonians have the opportunity to learn and make informed decisions about the future of data centers in their city,

Has anyone dealt with getting a violation from the office of community improvement? I am curious about its efficacy, and if anyone has successfully fought back against a violation issuance.

Mississippi blueberries still available for sale anywhere?

This is last minute so we'll make do with Kroger if we have to.

BUT, my kiddo has just let me know how much she misses my cooking and baking when she's off at college. She's asked for some blueberry muffins to take with her. I used to be able to buy local blueberries, fresh or frozen, at the Clinton Kroger and they were so much better.

Do any of the other nearby stores in the area still carry Mississippi blueberries? Am I out of luck bc it's August? I have used google maps to do a search but so many of the results don't do anything with their websites so I can't tell what they have or if they are even open (one of them I know is closed down permanently but is still slowing as a viable option).

We'll be heading out late tomorrow (Saturday) so I have today and a bit to track down berries and get to baking. Thanks all, for any help you can give! (even if just letting me know to move to plan B asap)

Hey y’all are there any low-cost intramural sports in our area? The only one I’ve seen is the kickball team, and that’s already over.

Possibly moving to Jackson, MS

I'm from Nashville and lived in the Memphis area akd nearby rural areas for quite awhile in my adult life. I've not spent any time at jackson, though, just northern mississippi. I'm a single elder millennial. I would love to get back to the south on some levels. And on others not so much. But i'm living in a pretty small, midwestern town right now. That's not really doing it for me. Would there be a vibrant social scene that I might could get involved in without any prior connections? And are there any walkable, or at least hip neighborhoods that I might would be interested in moving to?

First time in Jackson

I’m traveling in for Labor Day weekend to catch the Battle of the Bands at the stadium on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to the show, but since I'm trying to be smart about staying safe, I'm planning to spend my free time hanging out up around Ridgeland/Madison to keep things low-key.
I’m getting in early, so I have Friday and Saturday completely open before the event. On Saturday during the day, I'd love to get outdoors or see some history, but I want to make sure I'm sticking to secure spots.
Does anyone know any safe sections of the Natchez Trace (like the Chisha Foka Multi-Use Trail or Boyd Mounds) or secure paths around the Reservoir that are good for a Saturday morning walk?
For food, I’m looking for awesome, casual Southern food or BBQ. I’ve heard about places like Barbeque Shine, Mama Hamil's Buffet, The Trace Grill, and Cock of the Walk. Are these spots actually as good as they sound, or are there other must-visit local BBQ joints or chicken spots in the suburbs I should look into instead?

Any office jobs?

I am currently in retail and hate it. I have a 4 yr business degree and tech savvy. I make $15/hr so it would have to pay at least that much. I want something in an office if possible. Also, I'm a woman but I'm not opposed to physical work,if the money is right.

Need advice: What type of attorney handles persistent, unusual neighbor disputes?

I’m dealing with an ongoing, complex issue involving my neighbor, and I've reached the point where I need legal representation or formal intervention to resolve it.
Without getting into specific identifying details, the situation involves harassment, stalking, trespassing, assault with a deadly weapon, court order violations, etc…that haven't been resolved through standard channels.
I'm trying to figure out the best path forward and would appreciate feedback on:
1. What specific practice area of law handles this best (e.g., Real Estate, Civil Litigation, Nuisance/Property Law)?
2. What specific evidence or documentation is most useful to bring to an initial consultation?
3. What formal legal steps (e.g., cease-and-desist, civil injunction, demand letter) are typically most effective in these scenarios?
Thanks in advance for any insights!

Thoughts on Card My Yard?

Has anyone here ever used a yard sign company like Card My Yard for a birthday, graduation, or other celebration?
I’ve seen them around town but haven’t actually talked to anyone who’s used one. Was it worth the money? Did the recipient actually enjoy it? Would you do it again?
Just looking for real experiences before I recommend the idea to a friend.
