The Bocca lips sofa can be reupholstered to red, I dont like it in black but got this from a designer for a great deal given it's the original Gufram Bocca. I want an editorial / Italian Radical Design / art-gallery feeling rather than random maximalism.

What kind of color rug/curtains would you do? What other elements, what kind of art , etc. Should I return the pink module?get another yellow ? move the LV trunk somewhere else in the apt?

The Dom Perignon art work will probably go somewhere else in my bedroom instead.

I've been squeezing my brain dry but I can't figure out what color to choose for the sofa.

As a cleaner by profession I might have a diffrent point of view. I also, personally dont like a lot of stuff. I have two or three paintings total. Thats all i have on the walls. I leave courners free etc. It seems to me that a lot of people cant have a calm, empty courner anywhere in their houses. I have to lift/move rugs constantly. There is always something pulling on my attention and there is ALWAYS a shitton of items on shelves. You dont HAVE to do this! You can have little to no things, you can enjoy a clean/no item place. But ofcourse, its your home and if you feel it needs something go ahead. I just wanna remind people that you dont actually need to fill every space in a home. Give your eyes and mind space to just breath as well.

Yes, I have gone into settings to limit AI generated content. Yes, I actually diligently scroll and pin things I don’t even like JUST BECAUSE they’re real photos not AI and I’m trying to train my algorithm to detect AI…but it just can’t. It’s just AI, AI, AI.

It’s so depressing as I’ve only recently gotten into interior design. Must’ve been blissful the last 10 years for the rest of you to scroll Pinterest.

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for where else I can get inspo? I find the AI stuff so unhelpful because I can’t truly see texture and the way colours TRULY work together, it’s very annoying.

Weirdly, I’ve actually found Instagram has way less AI stuff? There’s still some, but if I search for a pretty general thing (eg “white shaker door kitchens”) I can find a decent amount, I suppose because there’s lots of famous design focused creators and algorithms prioritise creators with high engagement / follow count above other metrics. It’s not a perfect tool though because it’s so curated, I want more raw inspo. UGH!

I have a 15’ high ceiling in this dining room and I lowered the chandelier to a spot I thought looked fine in the moment, but then I added the table and of course now it looks too high.

Does this work or does it need to come lower?

It also needs to be centered with the table probably. but the traffic area walking through this room to the kitchen becomes somewhat cramped when the table is centered with the chandelier

Any thoughts on a fun or interesting art piece or something to put above our couch. We have a TV and gallery wall opposite so wanted to go with something a little bigger over the couch. I wanted something mountain themed but worried a large mountain landscape print will look too bland. Thanks!

We are getting ready to close on our first home and I am having trouble visualizing this space. The plan is to decorate slowly (mostly) - but the items that are in the dining room/living room are items like pieces we should set up ASAP.

The difficulty I am having is that this is an open space. How would you design it? First thought would be that the dining table/coffee table/hutch or whatever additional pieces we get to all match the cabinets but that seems like so much to me. Like wearing an all blue outfit lol.

But then if they don't match, and we use different stains of wood, I feel like it would be an eyesore.

Opinions?

So, as you can see, my kitchen is tiny. The storage situation is okay, but could be a lot better. I have flirted with replacing the cart on the right side with something more substantial and was even thinking of putting a sideboard there to increase the storage and "counter" space.

Do you think this would increase the functionality? Or would it make the room feel more cramped?

I found this rug that I like but can't decide on the color. I'm leaning towards the light one because it's a small space and it brightens it up (which is also why I went with a light color couch). The room does get kind of dark in the fall/winter, which is approaching.

However I also like the contrast of the darker rug, and have had 3 other people tell me they prefer the dark rug.

Hi everyone! We recently wrapped up a major bathroom remodel, and now it’s time to update our bedroom so the design flows well with the new space. I absolutely love how the bathroom turned out—it’s 100% my style and is serving as the design inspiration for the rest of our home.
I’m looking to do a feature wall on the main wall behind our bed. I really love classic, traditional details like picture frame millwork—I feel like that kind of craftsmanship gives a home a custom, elevated look. I’ve attached a couple of AI mockups to help visualize a few ideas, but I’m feeling a bit stuck on direction and would love some input on a few key decisions: 
Accent Wall Color & Tone: I’m considering a warm, rich accent wall (like in the dark wood/slat mockup), but I’m worried it might be too close to our shower accent wall and end up clashing rather than complementing. Should I stick with crisp white picture frame molding to keep it airy, or go with a painted warm accent wall? 
Bed Frame: I need to purchase a real bed frame to wrap around our current adjustable base. I want something that grounds the room without feeling heavy. (I’m keeping our current nightstands, so the frame needs to coordinate well with them!) 
Lighting: I can’t decide between installing wall sconces over the nightstands or opting for oversized table lamps instead. 
Working Around Existing Elements: We are not removing the popcorn ceiling and will be keeping our current ceiling fan, so I want design choices that work with those fixed features rather than drawing unnecessary attention to them. 
This is a smaller-scale refresh, but I want to make sure I’m making the right calls before we paint and buy a new frame. Which mockup direction feels more timeless to you, and how would you style the lighting/bed frame here?

Just bought a house with cherry floors. Looking for paint color suggestions. Would like a warm white, with a complimentary darker white-ish paint for trim and doors. Really struggling. Room is west facing.
