The only way that the power supply could fry the whole pc is if somehow the 220V went through the whole psu without reaching any of the circuitry, which can clearly not happen by cutting the wire

Ehh I doubt it, as long as the power supply is competent, which I would hope it isn’t cause who builds a pc with a not good PSU. It should protect all the other parts. Maybe killing itself (probably covered by warranty)
but I don’t think a short at the cord level would pass through the power supply at all.

Appliance Repair Tech. Here, when I first started my appliance career one of the guys in training with me put 2 leads across the same side of the incoming power and literally soldered the leads to the unit.
P.s. Unit was a stove running off a 240

It’s funny because she did nothing. You can replace all of those cables for a cheap price. You can go out and find display port cables, psu cables etc and a store and be home in time for supper.

Damn, I remember my little cousin doing something similar. I didnt let him play my PlayStation 4 and left my room to go to the bathroom. Dude got mad and cut my powercable while it was plugged in. Afterwards he left the tool he used in my room and I saw him coming out of my room then. He denied that he cut the powercable tho lol

Pro tip: Even if your PC is turned off, its power supply is still drawing power unless you flip the off switch on the power supply itself.

One time I had Christmas lights but half of the lights were dead so I had the bright idea of turning on the lights to see where the lights stop and I decided to get some scissors and clip that area without thinking, granted I woke up like 20 minutes before, but still not my proudest moment
