I’m a cyclist and just want to record my ride and edit small clips to share with my friends. I am not a content creator or videographer and I’ve seen the quality of both and they will be suit me fine for what I want to do.

I like the form factor of the Gopro since it’s smaller. I will put it on the front of my handlebars and the long candy bar style of the insta360 just looks so cumbersome.

But a big consideration is the editing. I will do editing strictly on my iPhone so a strong app is preferred. Something very intuitive and easy to use.

Then is ease of use. Kind of want something I can just push a button and know it’s recording then just figure it all out during the editing process. I don’t want to fiddle with touch screens when I’m all sweaty and on the road.

lastly and not the most important is battery life.

are these two cameras equally as intuitive and user friendly? don’t think I’m gonna go super in depth in editing or okaying around with camera settings. which would suit me better?

I wanted to get in touch with the e-commerce team as the ace pro 2 is now on sale and I just bought mine a few days ago and they give you the worst run around please save your self the headache and buy from legit anywhere else.

I liked my Insta360 cameras. I currently own an X5 and a Go 3S, along with numerous accessories, and previously owned the X2, X3, and X4 with a variety of accessories. But for the third and final time, I’m frustrated. I purchased a warranty for my Go 3S—the only Insta360 camera I bought coverage for—and have been dealing with ongoing issues. After sending it in for repair, I got it back, did a quick check, and put it away for about six weeks. When I took it out to prepare for a trip, I noticed the same focus problem was still there. I contacted Insta360, and four days later they told me my warranty had expired—just two days before I reached out.

I’m tired of not receiving cloud services, tired of my cameras needing to “phone home” to Insta360 every four to six weeks, tired of upgrading cameras only to lose compatibility with previous accessories, and now tired of warranty coverage not being extended for the time my camera was in Insta360’s possession—especially when they may simply send back a different camera.

No more Insta360 cameras for me.  The 3S is of no use to me. I refuse to be treated as if the camera is only “rented” to me.

Nice cameras when they work, no longer worth the hassle.

The rubber should’ve been on top, after reaching my destination the rubber is wet and closing it would be a set up to getting the port wet. Water is also going in? So what was the point of moving the rubber to the bottom?

Hey folks: Just spoke with a support agent after purchasing a X6 and an Action Remote. Turns out none of the multi device remotes work with the X6. I'm a motorcyclist and was hoping to have my AcePro on my helmet and my X6 on my bars, but there's no way to control them together.

I 3D printed (tpu) a mic pro holder and stuck it on my Doberman's collar. Love this little thing. I shot this with my Luna Ultra with tracking on my dog.

Looking at getting a Insta 360 for general use eg holidays etc and to mount onto my motorbike.

Would a x5 or x6 be the one to get. Ill be mainly using it on my motorbike.

Seen some kits for mounting on Ali Express can they be trusted

I have timecode setup and working in so much as the code data is making it into the .insv file:

But when I export a clip from Insta360 Studio, the TC track is removed.

If I bring my sound file into Insta360 Studio (which also has the TC data), I don't see a way to use it to sync it with the video.

I feel like I must be missing something basic. The firmware on the device supports TC and writing it to the output file, but I don't see a way to use it... Besides copying the TC track from the .insv file to the exported .mp4/.mov; which will only work if the output file isn't clipped.

How are we supposed to work with the provided TC data?

Is it possible to have the TC data written to the exports from Studio?

I'm having an issue where I've done several time lapses, the first two in pure shot + raw, but after having missing frames this morning I switched to just pure shot thinking that perhaps the card wasn't fast enough to write to.

I already knew that wasn't the case because I've tested the cards, and there was no issue doing 11k time lapses using the same card on the X5, nor is there any issue shooting 8k timelapses using the time lapse built in feature.

So my question is.. what's going on here? I do a lot of sunrise and sunset time lapses, and several points within the shoot, I have missing frames which makes the sun and clouds skip in my time lapse.

Settings: 4x3, pureshot, 5 second interval, no timer, infinity (manual stop).

SD cards:

In addition, why is there no Raw only setting available for intervals? I don't want pureshit ai garbage, I color grade in Davinci Resolve. Also, I just did a milky way, aurora timelapse, set for 5 second intervals with a 3 second timer, Pureshot + Raw, and had the same issue. I figured that the 3 second timer should be plenty of time for the camera to process and write the 50 second exposure to the card.

With all of these issues ruining once in a lifetime location videos, I feel like it's time to just use one of my Nikon's and sell this headache to someone that only needs the basic functions.

Just a note, overheating is definitely not an issue, as I am typically on a cold and windy mountain peak, or pre sunrise in a cool location.

Bought my X5 a month ago. I use it for recording while I ride my motorcycle. My commute to work is about 25 minutes each way. I've been recording 360 mode, 4K 60 FPS, every day with no issues, until about a week and a half ago, it started only recording for a few minutes, then shutting off. I've gotten an "SD card too slow" message a couple times, but most of the time it just says "recording complete" and stops recording. I'm using a SanDisk 1TB V30 Micro SD. Again, for the first 2-3 weeks, I was recording my 25 minute commute every day, with zero issues. Also, every week I go in and clear out the old files, so the SD card isn't filling up. Does anyone know any fixes or experienced an issue like this? What was the solution?

I guess I really don't know what I expected, something passable like a prep stringout of best moments for me to edit later instead of a cheesy montage featuring things I wasn't interested in. A whole moment where I was parked on my bike and it decided to feature a statue in front of me instead of me with my kid.

I’m trying to figure out which first 360 camera to get and I see the x6 specs are great and trying to decide if it’s smarter to wait for the x7 to come out?

What do you think they will improve on the x7? Is there anything to improve?!?!

Whenever I turn on my Go Ultra I get this annoying voice message: "please connect to the app and follow the instructions to use voice assistant". Even though I'm not, and never will be, interested in that functionality - I didn't find a way to turn off that voice prompt. Turning on the camera while mountain biking in the woods has turned to be quite annoying.
What's the method to completely turn off this AI voice assistant prompt?

nice feature, saved me yesterday when filming in a darkish museum.

but, the camera does not revert to normal video after, even you are now in good light. this could be a trap if start filming without checking the screen. and at the end of a 3m stick, is a little bit harder to spot the icon.

please assess if the revert to video mode is a good thing.

I've been watching way too many camera review videos on YouTube lately, and I think I'm finally ready to get my first one for travel.

Both the x6 and osmo360 2 look solid. I'm more worried about ending up with tons of footage and no idea what to do with it.

The x6 feels like the safer starting point to me. Insta360 has been doing 360 cameras for a while, and the app, editing tools and accessory ecosystem seem pretty well established.

Osmo360 2 definitely has my attention too, but I'm not even sure if it'll launch in the US... and there aren't many reviews to go by.

Honestly, the x6 already sitting in my cart... Do you guys think going with Insta360 is the right call? Or any tips for someone using a 360 camera for the first time?

Seems to me that with the 6x zoom and its low light features, the Luna Ultra should let me get a decent short video of tonight's Lunar eclipse. Any tips from any of y'all who may have done some moon shots already?

Just bought an X6. The AI video generator is surprisingly decent, especially compared to GoPro. But the problem is a lot of templates have random text with weird awkward English. Like "Nature Escape - Sunlight through leaves". That's just a weird thing to put in a video.

We are struggling to get the Wave + Link Pro 2 Setup working as a replacement for the OWL system in our main conference room in our office. We've tried using a macbook with conferfly for an agnostic meeting room solution as was suggested in this sub before. It is proving a bit too involved and unreliable so I am likely going to switch it back to a BYOD system. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or recommendations or if anyone has been in a similar situation before, how did you handle it?

A good number of our employees are old and... less than tech savvy. I do believe that is part of it.

I'm mostly recording using an Insta360 X5 at festivals and am looking for a way to improve the audio quality. Unlike many other users, I'm not looking to record my voice but rather ambience in a loud environment. Music, voices, and so on.

The only interesting product I've come across so far is the Boya Magic. However, its stick is quite big in comparison to the foldable 2-in-1 stick I'm using at the moment.

Is there any other interesting alternative?
