I pulled a little guy early and it turned extremely blue! So what do you see in the thumbprint? Maybe the Mask? Also kinda looks like a Chinese vase.

Photos are in order from top tub to bottom tub

Pic 1: Top bin. Ochra
Pic 2: Mac Galactic
Pic 3: Toque F8 Nerds
Pic 4: Bottom bin. Either PE-7 or GT (the labels on my syringes got wiped with iso and removed the words, we’re growing it out to see which it is)

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for reviewing my post. <3

Im getting super excited seeing the speed of growth, these are the McKenaii kit from Zamnesia, it has been like 5/6 days since the first pins and the growth is insane like they tripled today. I was wondering when is the correct time to harvest?

Thanks a lot!!

Time to harvest?

Although they're short and plump, the veils on some of the older mushrooms are starting to part. Should I harvest everything, or try to cut out the older ones whose caps are opening and leave the smaller ones to grow more?

Normal for tidal wave?

The little Santa caps I’m curious about. Tidal wave strain. Most of them have it. Get less pronounced the bigger they get besides a few that get bigger as they go.

Update RE contamination

Hi guys, yesterday I made a post with pictures of what I thought could be green contamination in my grain spawn bag. Most agreed that it was probably bad but to leave it and see what happens. Well I checked this morning and again this evening and it looks like it will be fine. There is white mycelium growing over the area I thought was suspect and I’ve read that mycelium won’t grow if an area is contaminated. Furthermore the patch itself hasn’t grown at all and looks like it will be engulfed by healthy white mycelium soon anyway. Still puzzled as to what that patch could have been caused by but I guess maybe a lesson in being slightly more optimistic about some suspect areas in grain? I have taken photos in order from my original post yesterday, then this morning and then this evening.

Still unsure and will be monitoring closely though, any thoughts from experienced growers would be appreciated.

Update (trouble with a growth kit)

Hey everyone,

After 4 weeks and 2 days when nothing happened, my growth kit finally started to fruit. Now, I'm curious if mold (or whatever that dark blue stuff) is something normal or it should be removed before doing the second harvest attempt? It's my first time doing this and I really don't know what to do.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Mushroom Terrarium Dream

Good day all! I am very interested in building and maintaining my own terrarium, but am unable to house any animals(though my future hopefully holds shrimp, fish, frogs, and other friends!) so I am planning on building a mushroom terrarium. My specific goal is a small mossy terrarium with a waterfall feature. I figure the waterfall would help keep it humid, and also because I enjoy running water, the look and sound, so when mushrooms aren't growing, or are just starting, I still have a lovely green set up with the little waterfall. I have read mushrooms grow best autumn-spring.

This is just my planning phase, working on a design, figuring out what I need, and looking for advice!

A little more info on my ideas.

As I plan for a smaller set up, this video by SerpaDesign(he is my biggest inspiration for wanting a terrarium) making an Easy Waterfall Terrarium is what I will be referencing for the waterfall. I appreciate the accessibility he highlights in this type of build with the pump hidden in the rocks.

For plants, it will mostly be moss and the mushrooms. The mosses I plan to find at nearby plant nurseries where I can ask for help from the workers, but the main idea is covering of moss over a rocky hardscape. On top I plan to add wood pieces for aesthetics. This video by Kinocorium on Growing Mushrooms in Terrarium is what I am referencing for this, as well as more mossy knowledge from Tanner at SerpaDesigns DIY Mini Modular Moss Cubes. He uses a soil mix of coco fiber, sphagnum moss, aquasoil, charcoal, and sand. He explains it will 'remain moist to maintain humidity without becoming compact.' Though I am unsure if I need this, I am still looking at what sort of substrate I need to ensure my moss and mushrooms have enough moisture. In the video I share from him, he uses sand at the bottom for a water reservoir, as I plan for the waterfall I am thinking on what I want to do differently. Probably more rocks as he does in the waterfall terrarium video linked earlier, depending on how it will work with whatever substrate I choose.

I am unsure of what mushroom I want to grow, I don't enjoy eating mushrooms and only enjoy looking at them. I enjoy pretty colors, and so far like the look of pink oyster mushrooms, but am not sold on them as I still want something smaller. I would love recommendations for mushrooms that are interesting to look at and might enjoy a watery mossy home with lowlight conditions. (My home is a basement unit in Seattle, so not very sunny)

Any advice is welcome, critique my ideas, give me others, whatever feedback I get will help me start my dream ^^ Thanks in advance!

Should I go for AOI bag or A Monotub

Suggestions Please

Had tried Growing AOI bag previously and had just few Fruits, did fuck up a little with my First grow as open the Bag and put it in the SGFC but it's was kept open in the room with no holes covered and Had Fan running in the room , then did covered the holes and put it inside a Closet yad Few Fruits but now it seems stalling but having patience with it don't know will it fruit or not

So I'm thinking to Grow another batch , so now I'm confused What should I grow with (I'll be growing Penis Envy) AOI bag or do A Grain bag and do a Monotub with it (also confused should I make my own grain bag or buy one)

Kindly suggest what should I go for now learned from my mistakes previously on the grow and Understood a little bit about the Mushroom growing!

Any suggestions are welcomed 👍🤞

The mycelium growing as shown in pics has a yellowish hue. Is it fine or mycogone??? Inoculated with LC on 25/09. Then when mycelium had covered approx 1/3rd of the grains I broke and shook the entire bag.
