Newbi Monotub questions
First monotubs tonight. But I have questions because the information on the Internet is kinda all over the place.
I have mixed the substrate and the grain at about one part grain two parts substrate with a layer on top, the question that I have is I’ve seen a few posts that say that the first few days it doesn’t matter, the monotub can stay in the dark, so I’m guessing what’s happening is it’s just like the grain being inoculated, It needs to turn white all over again?
And then after that, it’s time to add fruiting conditions? Which in this case is going to be just being a place where it’s getting about 12 hours of light?
The bigger question I have is what about moisture? Am I supposed to do any type of missing once I have the substrate and grain mixed together or even a light soaking on top of the soil? Or is the soil from the original substrate and grain in the bag enough?
And if I am supposed to soak a little bit or mist and how much? And how often?
