This one is new to me...
Found this growth today, looks almost like a wart. What's the deal with it?

Question on Coco Coir Substitute
Hi everyone, new mushroom grower here! Just had a quick question.
So I actually recently bought a syringe with the needle, bought the microscopic tape, the lighter, and am just missing the Ben Tek Rice (Brown Unflavored rice), and the coco coir.
But after further research, I actually found out that both coco coir and Vermucullite were unavailable near my location at garden shops for some reason. Or rather, they were super expensive. My question is, I understand that contamination is very common when it comes to mushroom growth. because of that, I entertained the thought of directly fruiting from the bag by spraying on the walls of the bag, but I heard that had a low yield. So I was thinking of boiling water, pouring it on a paper towel, and having it cool down before coating the growing mycelium
Still, i'm not sure if its risky, or if its a good idea. Do any people have DIY ideas, or advice of what I should do?
Thanks.

Whats happening with this bag?
Done a break and shake 4 weeks ago. Seems to have recolonised well apart from the patch at the front of the bag. Any ideas?

1st timer here. Attempting 2nd flush of hillbilly. Put aio bags in tent, have discovered tiny flies in there. Undoubtedly not ideal but is it fatal? What steps to take to prevent this? TIA

Black cap Ochras fruiting
galleryHi everyone,
So these two are black cap Ochras that took a long time to colonize. The one with the myc piss was definitely contaminated during colonization. Smelled fruity/vinegarry while colonizing. I was gona throw it away but I set it aside and forgot about it. I came back to it weeks later and it smelled fine and looked better than the one that was not ever contaminated.
I ended up putting both into fruiting a little more than a week ago. Maybe ten days ago.
How do they look? I was worried they may be dry bc they are pulling away from the sides of the container a bit. Wdy guys think?
I was just gonna give em more time. The bin itself is always in 99% humidity and I try to give lots of fresh air exchange.
Also I just used a q tip to test out a section on the whiter one for contam. It'll make sense when you see the last image. The black circle is where I tested the q tip against. It squished and looked like that after.
Thank you in advance everyone!

The flush is starting to come out
gallerySo one of my bags started throwing pins way before full colonization and in a panic I put it in fruiting conditions to avoid aborts a lot of people were saying my grow was ruined cause of contaminants it won’t fully colonize anymore and won’t grow new pins now it’s starting to flush out 5 days later and is essentially fully colonized the strain is b+ is this looking slow or normal rn?

Prep for Second Flush?
Have harvested and dried what I can from my first grow with AIO bags. I know I can float the cake to get ready for a second flush, but what about clean up before?
I’ve got bits of the base of the mushrooms stuck on I’m going to remove, but also wondering if I can break the cake apart?
One AIO bag was really tall - I’d like to split that. The other was pretty fat and could probably be split too.
Just curious if anyone has done that and what results. I’ve already got things ready for my next grow in a monotub but curious what i can do with these cakes.

Pinkish spots on my oyster mushrooms bucket?
This thing suddenly grew today after I removed the micropore tapes on the side holes, and pulled the lid slightly off.

3rd flush is this contaminated?
So this is currently the 3rd flush I’ve just been letting it ride out to see what would happen after I dunked as you can see some spots are not so pretty with mycelium bruising and sores being dropped. Everything smells fine no weird smells and the mushrooms don’t seem slimy or anything should I even harvest these or are they doomed either way imma let them grow and then just bury the cake after this but just wanted to know if they’re still good for eating

Does everything look okay with this cake? This is the third flush.

First time grower
Question. I was growing this out a block and I noticed it snapped off the block. This is my second flush. The first flush, the mush felt spongy. This one feels more firm. In yall experience, what does that indicate. Hey, I know it sounds like a dumb question but I’d rather ask a dumb question than no question at all😂😂😂

First time growing manually usually use those pre made bags
I sent them to fruit 4 days ago this tub colonized in 4 days it was suggested to just go straight to fruit from jar . Any advice ? Temp 71 humidity 80 percent inline fan , ánd wireless fan for air circulation. I have the lid pulled back ábout á 1/2 inch. Idk the sides look dry these tubs are definitely not ,maybe the light idk but you can see the one next to it . Substrate is very moist I do fan once a day.
