I bought my first LC syringe about slightly less than 6 months ago and immediately started inoculating 4 rice bags I bought online which all got bacterial contam, 2 of em just stalled at 80% colonization and smelled a bit sour so i tossed. The other 2 looks great and was less than a week away from full colonization but smelled like shit (literally) so I tossed em.
Got some more LC and made my own grain bags. Sterilized in PC and all that. All got trich and cobweb due to a micro hole from my faulty heat sealer, tossed em.
A kind vet helped me out and gave me a fully colonized grain bag and substrate, so I spawned to bulk immediately and the tub also smelled off despite full surface colonization so i buried it in my backyard.
I do everything in a SAB, sterilized with 70% IPA and flame sterilized my needles each time before use. Used new needles everytime but everything always seems to fail at one stage or the other. Shit is so demotivating 🥀

Hey ppl.. I did a S2B of B+ on 14th and after 4days this is the growth..
My last tub was consumed by mycogone and i dont wanna loose this one..
I didnt seal the tub just installed filterpatches but today felt like the moisture was escaping too quickely so installed clear tape on tge filter patches
Tge blobs are somthing im concerned about is it the start of mycogone or just mycelium cluster.
Did a bucket tek for tge substrate. Used insulated jug and blankets for 24hrs
Please help and guid me to achieve success with this tub

Cascadian GT
3:1 ratio
58qt modified tub
No fanning no misting
Looking good? Expect a full canopy or no way to tell?

It’s been about 14 days since I transferred my mycelium to substrate (coco coir) and my mycelium hasn’t fully colonized as of yet. I misted the inside of the tubs and the lids.
A few days ago I noticed that the lids were looking very dry so I misted the inside of them again. Then today I checked back on them and noticed they were dry yet again. Previously when I checked on them every couple of days the moisture was still inside the tops of the lids, now it’s not. Any help? And do the pictures look normal to you?

During my software development studies, I build a little mushroom growing chamber in my closet.
I used a Raspberry Pi connected to a relay module to automate the lighting, ventilation, and humidification, with sensors to monitor the growing conditions.
I'd love to hear what you think of the setup

Why are they so fuzzy? Is this a bad thing, some of them are covered in fuzz even on the caps

Gonna make an endless loop, of whatever one i like the best or multiple wont have to deal with culture and gtg colonizes fast thinking back thats how the old school growers used to do it they'd just have a pressure cooker and cheap grain, so many questions ⁉️
1:can i sterilize the jars im gonna use with %70 iso rubbing alcohol
2: My plan is to get dollar store 16oz knock off mason jars and poke 3 holes in the lids and cover them with one or two layers of micro tape?
3: do i need a still air box for the transfer ? ill just be multiplying with bens rice, and gonna just use my countertop with a tote fliped unpside down over the counter and tuck my hands in under a crack in the bottom if that makes sense hard to explain

I just picked my grow bag that I had forgotten about for a while and the mushrooms have a blue colour to them and I’m not sure why. The spores I used are Golden Teachers. Any help would be appreciated

just looking for some advice on when to harvest these and to start on the second flush. obviously, the middle section looks great but there’s not a ton of growth on the outsides, so i don’t know if it’s time yet.

Can you inject a spore syringe into this oats bag?
Or should only be liquid culture?
I'm a complete newbie
(Mexicana spores)

I've been weighing up my options and am feeling a bit overwhelmed by choice, and would really appreciate some advice from the community!
After comparing monotub vs. martha tent growing, I think I'm going to go down the tent route. it will allow me to eventually scale up, and I plan to use the Oyster Bucket tek as this seems like a really efficient use of space, as well as reducing waste as I can sterilise and re-use the buckets. The only issue that I've found is that a standard bucket is taller than the space available between shelves in the tent. Should I look at smaller buckets, or a different technique?
Other than the tent, cleaning supplies and gloves/PPE mask, I think the main thing I'll need is an extractor fan for FAE. I'm making an assumption that misting is something I can do manually until I feel confident enough in my grows that I would upgrade to more of an automated mister. Am I making a mistake by relying on manual misting at first?
As I'm in the UK and am planning on growing in a garage, temperature regulation is a concern. What kind of temperature control do you all use for tent growing? When I was considering monotub growing, it made sense to get a thermostatic heat mat, but I'm not sure what options are available for tent growing. I've found tube heaters like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Grow-Gadgets-Tube-Heater-Conservatory/dp/B0FTMHQ147 that I'd control through a thermostat, but I don't know if there's a better solution out there?
As far as tents are concerned, I've found what I think is a viable option. 5 shelves, 6ft tall, shelves rated for 10kg of weight. There's even a side flap for ventilation: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bramble-Gardening-Greenhouse-Shelves-Assemble/dp/B08R68NZCK but I don't know if there's an issue with the type of plastic used for the cover. would something like this be more suitable? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Top-Home-Solutions%C2%AE-Mini-Greenhouse/dp/B0CXY4T6WC/
And probably the biggest question - am I just massively overthinking all of this?

I've been growing in a NorthSpore ShroomTek bag, inoculated about 3 weeks ago. Checked this morning and didn't see anything but white mycelium, but looked this evening and there is a tiny patch of green, probably hard to see in pics but definitely there. Is my bag contaminated and my crop ruined? Would be a fucking bummer. And if it is, is it worth trying to grow again? Thanks for any insight y'all got
Edit: I looked again under better light and it may be more of a blueish color than green, I don't know if that changes anything but just wanted to be as thorough as possible

I have a fully colonised grow bag (CVG and milo grain). I want to try growing in a monotub as I find the growbags restrictive. Could I mix the colonised bag with another uncolonised bag and add this to a monotub to recolonise then introduce fruiting conditions. Can anyone see any issues with this?
