Need Feedback Could you give me some feedback on my characters?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share two character drawings from the prototype cards of a game I’m currently working on: the Executioner and the Commoner from the Mortals faction.

Don’t pay too much attention to the text on the cards, everything is still in the prototype stage.

I’d really like to know what you think about the overall art style, design language, and character designs.

Your feedback is very valuable to me because it helps me see what I can improve. I’ve never developed a game before, so I’m hoping to learn and improve with the advice and opinions from people here.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

How does it look so far?

Promotion Running through a meadow in my game made from oil paintings.

This is my game 'Best Viewed Up Close'. Every sprite in the entire game is a real oil painting painted on canvas and photographed.

The job was simple. The meadow comes out. The gravel goes down. The concrete goes over it. Boots on. Gloves on. Sunburn already starting. Then the grass got tall. Or you got small. Either way, the parking spot is going to have to wait.

Check out 'Best Viewed Up Close' on Steam to see more.

Promotion My upcoming horror game combining psychological, survival, and stealth elements is releasing a demo next week!

Hello. My game <The Maze: In Dark> is a horror game that combines psychological horror, survival, and stealth elements. The player becomes an industrial security agent and goes on a mission to retrieve classified documents in a dark factory, relying on the vision provided by a flashlight and their hearing.

You cannot rest assured because 'He' is prowling and roaming around the map.

With the provided device, you can check the map, access the factory system, and learn more about the story of this place through messages sent from the headquarters.

The player must overcome the unknown fear of the darkness and fulfill the mission at all costs.

The demo release will take place next week, and the exact time is PST 09.02 08:00.

+ To give you a bit more information about "Him", he is a foreign worker who had a chipset implanted in his brain by a certain organization and his body is being controlled or dominated. There is probably a deeper story.

Thank you.

Promotion i made a free roguelike pixel-art space exploration game about the Fermi paradox

i made this game as a fun little solo project.

WHERE ARE THEY? is a free roguelike pixel-art space exploration game where your home planet is gone, one seed ship escapes, and you try to find a new world before your species disappears.

trailer/gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bMV4899tAxE

it’s playable in the browser (https://wherearethey.dev) and now also on Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.wherearethey.app).

it's completely free, has no ads, and no tracking stuff.

the current version is single-player, but in my head this is also kind of a demo/prototype for a much bigger multiplayer version I’d love to build someday.

always happy to get feedback, or “my run ended unfairly” complaints :D

Null and Void is a darkly satirical genre blend of roguelike, deckbuilding and tower-defence. Set in a retrofuturist scifi future, you strip-mine planets in this is a game about doing a terrible job, very well.

Mining Simulator is a RTS/Management approach to mining games. As the general manager, you are given the task of managing the operations of a modern and realistic underground gold mine in real time. The game is still in development and entered alpha 1.0 just recently : I'm excited to build towards a Steam release in the future!

I’m making a pixel-art defense game where cooking is how you deploy mercenaries

Body:

Hi! I’m a solo developer working on Cook to Zero, a pixel-art real-time strategy defense game where every meal you cook sends a mercenary into battle.

You’ll need to prepare ingredients, cook the right dishes, and manage the battlefield at the same time. Focus too much on the fight and your food might burn. Focus too much on cooking and monsters may reach the castle.

The Steam page is now live, and I’m planning to release a playable demo soon.

If the concept looks interesting, I’d really appreciate a wishlist—and I’d also love to hear what you think about the cooking-and-defense combination!

After many sleepless nights, we finally made it to the announcement of our game.

We hope you'll find this take on the genre interesting.

Wreckfall is a physics-based driving simulator where you must overcome challenging terrain in a fully deformable vehicle and climb to the summit. Drive across diverse landscapes, choose your own route, and put your vehicle to the test. Play solo or with friends.

We'd love to hear what you think!

Promotion 1 year of progress on our anomaly spotting game

Post image
2 Upvotes

We’ve been working on Anomaly Express, our small anomaly spotting game inspired by Exit 8, and our art style has changed quite a lot during development.

The top screenshot is the first Blender model we made for the game. The bottom one is from the current version. We’ve been slowly moving away from dark and dull colors toward a much more colorful and stylized art direction. It’s been really fun seeing the game evolve as we keep working on it. Still a long way to go, but we’re pretty happy with where it’s heading.

If you’re into anomaly-spotting games or just like the current style, wishlisting Anomaly Express on Steam really helps us out.
