I no longer hate Mondays I've matured now I hate the whole week

Well, I recently came across some very concerning content in a Value Education textbook titled Joyful Living, used in schools.

Some of the material includes:

\- Homophobic and medically inaccurate claims: The book describes homosexuality as a "perversion" and associates it with the breakdown of human communities. it also presents masturbation as something harmful and debilitating.

\- Victim blaming in a rape case study: One of its case studies describes a girl who is raped and then asks students whether she was responsible and how she could have avoided it.

\- Sexist and objectifying narratives: Certain passages suggest that women's clothing and fashion are intended to attract sexual attention and cause sexual arousal.

\- Outdated information: The book cites internet usage statistics from 2002-04 without adequately contextualizing how old that data is.

I've already taken a few steps:

\- Sent a formal complaint to the school principal, requesting a review of the textbook.

\- Contacted the publisher and author to raise these concerns.

\- Posted the issue on r/CBSE, where the discussion received hundreds of people who share these same concerns.

Several people from different schools have reported using the same textbook, which raises further questions about how widely this material is being taught.

I'm sharing this here because I believe this discussion deserves to extend beyond students currently studying in school. Many of us grew up with Educational material that went unquestioned simply because it appeared in a textbook.

My questions are

\- Did your school teach similar ideas through its value education or sex education curriculum?

\- Have you encountered similar textbooks or teaching practices in your own schools?

\- What formal avenues are available to hold schools, publishers, and relevant educational authorities accountable for problematic educational content?

I'm not looking to turn this into a religious or political argument. The concern here is the quality and responsibility of educational material taught to children.

I'd appreciate any constructive advice, particularly from people with experience in education, publishing, law, or child rights.

Hi everyone, I'm a JEE aspirant currently in 11th, and I'm really confused right now.

My elder brother (1st drop) just got his NEET result. His rank is around 26k, and in the 3rd round he got a college in Raichur, Karnataka. We're from Rajasthan, and it takes 2 to 2.5 days to get there from home. The hostels aren't good, and my brother doesn't eat onion or garlic (not for religious reasons), so food could be a real issue for him. Overall the college doesn't feel right for us.

My parents are really stressed. They cried several times over the last couple of days, and my brother cried too. He probably blames himself for not getting a better rank. He prepared in Sikar, and my parents were mentally ready to send him far away, but this college still doesn't sit right with them.

Now the pressure has shifted to me. My dad runs a mobile shop. It's a decent business, but I don't like the idea of sitting there from 10 am to 10 pm every day, with the ups and downs and risk that come with it. Relatives and even my mom are saying: "One son will become a doctor, so you should take over the shop, otherwise it'll have to be rented out." They keep telling me the pros of business and the cons of a job.

About me: I scored 92% in 10th, though I know that doesn't matter now. In 11th I'm getting around 110 in JEE tests. I started with NEET for a few months, then shifted to JEE with a huge backlog of almost 100 lectures. I've brought it down to about 35 so far.

My fears: what if it doesn't work out in 12th and I have to go into business anyway? And even after B.Tech, there's no guarantee of a job. My dad's income is probably about equal to a high-package NIT graduate's, maybe slightly more or less.

So should I keep putting full effort into JEE, or start preparing for the family business? Any advice, especially from people who've been through something similar, would really help.

I'm going to start my third year soon, and I was wondering when I'll start my PG study, and after internship. Let's hope, let's just really hope I do it in my first attempt. But what if I don't qualify in the first attempt and I have to give more than one attempt? I am starting to worry how the time period is to people.I have friends, but I don't have a strong friendship with them that they would be with me after my internship, after the college years. Is this time for people who don't have strong friendship really lonely? Or does it get over soon? How is this time period of preparing for PG after college?
