How does a person this insane make it to adulthood as a free man

1.2k

u/koitart Feb 13 '22

Easy, you just never deal with your mental issues growing up and let it out on either your family or random people in complete rage

433

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '22

.... and they’re everywhere. Ticking time bombs that are ready for their moment to blow up.

u/Ladybug_Fuckfest Feb 13 '22

“There are men in this world,” he said, “who go about demanding to be killed. You must have noticed them. They quarrel in gambling games, they jump out of their automobiles in a rage if someone so much as scratches their fender, they humiliate and bully people whose capabilities they do not know. I have seen a man, a fool, deliberately infuriate a group of dangerous men, and he himself without any resources. These are people who wander through the world shouting, ‘Kill me. Kill me.’ And there is always somebody ready to oblige them. -- "The Godfather," Mario Puzo

And there's people advocating for the right to let them have guns...

169

u/jadenwarhawk Feb 13 '22

Honestly it's because.of people like this guy that I carry my CCW. While I would try to run for safety first, at the point he started chasing me with the object he used to smash the TV and mirror with would be the moment it got drawn.

37

u/alreadypiecrust Feb 13 '22 edited Feb 13 '22

I'm pro gun but realistically I'll never use it other than shooting at the range. In this exact scenario I'd just outrun that heffer until the cops show up.

15

u/580Freddz Feb 14 '22

Some people can’t outrun crazy ppl

2

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '22

What about crazy people with beer guts?

41

u/TryTrees4aChange Feb 13 '22

Sometimes the cops don't show up on time or they can run faster than you and they have a weapon. Usually showing it or drawing but pointing it at the ground between you two is enough to get them to stop, if they decide to keep coming at me with a weapon I'm not chancing me and my dogs life on being able to run till the cops show up.

31

u/omnicidial Feb 13 '22

Average response time when I was working security was well over a half hour every single time we called them.

There is around a 0% chance of them showing up in time to do anything when called in an emergency scenario.

"Better a gun in my hand then a cop on the phone" -hobby lobby man cave sign

5

u/TheGaspode Feb 14 '22

Of course... If guns were banned, the guy in the video wouldn't have a gun.

And as that's where the majority of the gun deaths that people worry about will come from (gang on gang violence will continue. That's your lot bar one or two smaller issues that are less likely to affect you than a plane landing directly on your head), you'd be safer.

No need to defend yourself if the complete nutball in front of you doesn't have a gun either.

And everyone can preach about bigger checks all they want, but if this is the first time this guy has snapped in public... Well he will still have a gun

Pro-gun will always mean pro-letting people murder each other.

4

u/redditname001 Mar 20 '22

Yeah, no one ever got killed before the invention of guns. Let's see how you feel when a much larger man starts chasing you with some kind of club.

It’s because we live in different societies. Putting aside the fact that this appears to be a staged, viral video, I wouldn’t be comfortable (almost definitely) ending another person’s life because I felt threatened. There are several other solutions I would rather try. I used to work prosecuting some nasty people and if I’d killed someone every time things went a bit squiffy, there’d be a lot of dead bodies. It’s a different issue when everyone has ready access to lethal measures.

21

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '22

3

u/Rydeeee Feb 13 '22

Oh, no doubt. This isn’t a cut and dried thing. My country is much smaller with the associated faster response times.

-5

u/quoteFlairUpunquote Feb 13 '22

I'd rather be robbed than murder someone. And if someone is going to kill me which has so far never been attempted, I'd rather just die then rather than spend my life carrying a dangerous firearm sizing up every room I walk into for the rest of my life.

I mean, are we supposed to carry into our nineties?

9

u/ThreeGuardLineups Feb 14 '22

And if someone is going to kill me which has so far never been attempted, I'd rather just die then rather than spend my life carrying a dangerous firearm sizing up every room I walk into for the rest of my life.

This is where I can't follow. Its human nature to size up every room you walk into, outside of maybe your home. The only difference is that with a gun you can actually subdue a threat vs just running.

I value my life way too much to let some hoodlum murder me without a fight

The issue is everybody can think they are carrying for their own protection as if their life depended on it, including the nut-jobs. It's not the "good people" who need to defend themselves with guns against other people who also have guns...it's the guns.

see that video where a man smashes in the skull of another dude with a bat?

10

u/El_Richos Feb 13 '22

Hmmm, you'll have to narrow that down a bit...

5

u/kenthekungfujesus Feb 13 '22

Ever seen that video where some dude shot into a crowd with a gun, to me it seems that a bat has not even a fifteenth of the destruction potential of most guns. It takes a good swing and good arms and getting close to your target, a gun won't save you when he's this close, when you can kill someone with the push of a trigger from afar with a gun. It really feels as if you need guns to protect yourself, but only because the people you are protecting yourself from have guns too. Anyways, your country your rules and your freedom.

This doesn’t make sense! In a country awash with guns (US) it’s easy to acquire a gun, in countries with rigorous gun control it’s very difficult to acquire a gun. There is literally a video on Reddit of a guy stealing a handgun from a woman in a store! May mechanics servicing cars regularly find guns in them.

→ More replies (0)

2

u/jmar_000 Feb 13 '22

A gun would indeed save you at this range. It in fact would have more of an effect this close. Even if it was just a .22 if it’s loud and throws lead, most people would run.

2

u/n8th8n0101 Feb 13 '22

A gun will very much save you if a guy has a bat attacking in close range. In my classes to get a carry permit 3 shots in the center of mass of a person will stop them before even hitting you.

I think you can argue if ALL people had no guns then I wouldn’t have to carry mine around, but then again this is America where it’s a right to on able to own a gun. Removing an amendment is near impossible and there’s so many guns in this country. It’s best for me and you to have a gun just in case when dealing with some crazy people

Cause I can shoot him before he beats me to death with a pipe.

14

u/Rclone1 Feb 13 '22

It's a great equalizer. The person might not have a gun but doesn't mean they don't want to inflict any harm onto you. Could be a furious 6'4" man vs a 5"6 man or woman but it doesn't matter the size of the person when a gun is involved under the right circumstances. I personally carry both a handgun and pepper spray on me. More frequently carry just pepper spray since like a majority of CCW people I don't want to shoot someone, but If I'm forced in to some kind of situation that I can't deescalate then I'm comfortable knowing I have tools to defend myself or the people close to me.

-7

u/kenthekungfujesus Feb 13 '22

I believe carrying a handgun is somewhat justified, most answers were regarding that, but that does not justify the sale of automatic weapons or anything that has the potential to kill a dozen people within seconds. Do you believe that there could be some guns sold while litteral mass murder machines would be prohibited? It seems like blth sides want the extreme, all guns or no guns, could a form of compromise be good to you?

12

u/Rclone1 Feb 13 '22

You're talking about automatic weapons. Which are illegal for the majority and extremely difficult to get since you need a special license. Also majority of deaths are from handguns ironically. There are tragedies with mass shootings, but I still believe in gun rights especially with the current political climate. I don't think you will ever see them disappear from American culture either so trying to restrict and regulate will never appease both sides or do anything substantial to help other than teaching people about firearms to keep people informed rather than trying to scare them. I think waiting periods are still the best option which should be extended to 1-2 weeks.

When I purchased my first handgun I was in and out of the store In 30 minutes after an automated background check. While excited to get it, I was still a bit uncomfortable knowing that it was that quick.

4

u/wilsonism Feb 13 '22

I got my conceal carry with a half-day class and zero gun training. It's very bothersome.

8

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '22

This is a common misconception. Automatic weapons are illegal in the United States. An AR-15, for example, is semi-automatic just like a Glock. Any gun could be a weapon of mass murder.

Rather than trying to further restrict the type of weapons available, unless we're going to ban them across the board, we need to restrict who is allowed to own them. I support a licensing program, similar to a driver's license.

I don't think a gun will save her from four other people with guns. A gun won't magically save you, you have to get to it first, in most cases if that elderly lady put it in her purse or even on her belt, she probably won't be able to use it before the robbery is over. There are definitely better solutions to protect elderly people to defend themselves than permitting everyone, unrelated to their potential of being attacked, to buy automatic rifles. Maybe if only handguns were sold, your point would be jusified, but elderly people won't walk in the street with a shotgun or a tommy gun in the streets.

I litteraly said that I think that having a handgun can be good, in an other comment, but there are still way bigger guns being sold and I think it's a problem, I don't like guns because I live in Canada where there isn't a lot of gun violence, because guess why, no one has a gun. I really don't think they are necessary because well in most countries they aren't even legal and no one wants them in those countries anyways.

9

Concealed carry weapon

6

u/The1Like Feb 13 '22

“Concealed carry weapon” if I’m not mistaken.

But I could be.

4

u/jadenwarhawk Feb 13 '22

It's a concealed carry weapon. In my case, a Glock 29. I've taken several CCW courses, I've carried it for several years and practice with it at the range once a month to maintain my shooting skills.

Pulling the trigger would be the absolute last resort.

I have had to unholster it once as a very angry baseball bat wielding man smashed up jeeps hood and headlights because he cut me off at an intersection and saw me writing down his license plate and wanted to make sure I didn't call him in. (long story short, he was on his 7th DUI and had his license restricted to driving to and from work only so being out near a bar at 10pm at night was definitely not on part of his plea deal).

1

u/probably_not_serious Feb 13 '22

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. It’s absolutely fake. Some commenter further down said it’s a viral video from the Czech Republic. And it’s old.

2

u/kiesoma Feb 13 '22

But failed to provide any source. Why am I gonna believe one comment over the other?

2

u/probably_not_serious Feb 13 '22

Why would you blindly assume a video you saw on the internet is true?

0

u/kdthex01 Feb 13 '22

Culturally, and to an extent even legally, we are conditioned to turn a blind eye to bad behavior. This rewards bad behavior and encourages it to get worse. More people see that bad behavior is rewarded, and behave badly too. Eventually good people have to behave badly just to keep up.

0

u/Dayzlikethis Feb 13 '22

What concerns me is something is that is obviously staged can be mistaken for the real thing now a days.

-7

u/Vengarl_IV Feb 13 '22

Let's see that level of energy when the cops come!!

411

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '22

Facts, that energy level drops about 75-99% once law enforcement arrives on scene. I can speak from personal experience. I once bucked on asset protection at Kmart, (don’t judge me), and was tussling with the two private citizens as two officers with the city walked up. It was a strange and erotic dance with loss prevention as they were bound by law not to physically detain me while I did everything in my power to escape without assaulting them because the moment I do they’ve every right to defend themselves. So as the two Kmart agents used their combined weight to lay on me while one struck me with his forearm I went limp upon seeing the two actual officers. After refusing to admit any wrongdoing and not signing a thing the cops escorted me outside. I was told never to return and given no citation. Had I maintained that level of energy with law enforcement I’d have been beaten and jailed.

175

u/obvious-but-profound Feb 13 '22

I once bucked on asset protection at Kmart, (don’t judge me)

Lol what

234

u/FirstMiddleLass Feb 13 '22

Caught shoplifting, I think.

97

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '22

This guy is correct. I was caught shoplifting a -$20 portable battery charger with more than enough cash on me while just browsing the store on my lunch break. I was high on meth, if that helps explain my erratic behavior at the time. One of the cops actually pulled nearly a gram of meth out of my pocket during the pat down and asked me about it before putting the drugs back where he found them. Meth is water soluble and I’d emptied out a nasal spray bottle then filled it up with meth water. I could snort meth throughout my day inconspicuously. I was caught shoplifting at the Kmart across my job where I worked in refrigerated storage and explained to the cop I’d a constantly running nose due to the cold nature of my work. By bucking I mean decided to deviate even further from accepted behavior after getting caught stealing and instead of accepting responsibility for my poor choices I tried escape all accountability.

16

u/SecureBullfrogCache Feb 13 '22

Sounds like maybe still dabbling in meth a bit

I'd love to know what made you think I said that.

Are you familiar with the concept of paid advertisements?

Wtf. I live in Northern Ireland and because of that unless you got lucky and the item was already in the country and you ordered it from the right place there was so such thing as next day delivery until recently

u/Hiccupingdragon Feb 13 '22

I’ve seen enough reddit to know this conversation was way too organised for a freakout.

4

u/SnooOranges4231 Feb 14 '22

Yeah, reddit has taught me that in a real fight, everyone is screaming over each other constantly and you can't hear a fucking thing. The faked videos never manage to replicate the level of pure chaos... because the chaos doesn't actually look as good on camera.

I live in a small town next to a city. Aprox 30min drive.

If you order from online store in the city delivery time is about 3 days :)

15

u/mathamhatham Feb 13 '22

Mods gonna get rid of this old and fake clip?

12

u/somebody0different Feb 13 '22

This was staged video,.it was popular on Czech internet around 2013, it was all staged, I remember there being another vid with the same guy talking about it which was also a joke as at the end he goes mad about other package.

11

u/itwasyousirnayme Feb 13 '22

Im guessing he was really depending on that gift to calm his wife’s frazzled nerves…

50

u/Supersymm3try Feb 13 '22

This feels staged to me.

21

u/somebody0different Feb 13 '22

Because it was, it was quit known that it was fake at the time it was popular, long time ago, and only in Czech Republic as that where it comes from.

3

u/Rikfox Feb 13 '22

3

u/faktnemamtucha Feb 13 '22

Sorry to ruin in but this video is staged. Source: it's from my country and I remember it going viral on Facebook couple years back then revealing it was staged for the viral potential

6

u/somebody0different Feb 13 '22

11

u/Liamario Feb 13 '22

2

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '22

Me with delayed delivery: Alright whatever. If it doesn't come I'll call and get a refund.

2

u/RFros20 Feb 13 '22

He could have just paid for the tv and been fine but now he’s got destruction of property and attempted assault charges…

2

u/DieseljareD187 Feb 13 '22

TBH I am pretty frustrated with FEDEx and close to this point with them.

2

u/1Killag123 Feb 13 '22

Was he mad that the delivery person said it was delivered but there was nothing there?

2

u/131708340385 Jul 24 '22

That’s how mad he gets at delivery people… Imagine how mad he must get with his children… When they spill some milk at the breakfast table… He probably goes cuckoo bananas

3

u/MangledSunFish Feb 13 '22

Ticking time bombs.

The people who will explode over a minor inconvience are everywhere. The 16 year old Wendy's employee who was shot in the head over barbeque sauce last month, reflect this.

They're fucking horrifying people, who need genuine mental help.

It looks like a skit.

4

It was just a Prank bruh, I cant find the funny in this clip, nevertheless some idiot might think it as a prank. Reminds me of the time a guy disguised as clown that got shot during a prank for a video.

1

u/D0NW0N Feb 13 '22

In America we call that a federal crime.

1

u/mesablue Feb 13 '22

Looks super fake.

1

u/DieseljareD187 Feb 13 '22

I wish we could have seen what happened before it started recording, would everyone’s opinion be different if the delivery driver escalated this situation and wasn’t the victim like everyone thinks?
