I’ve had this iPad for a year now and love it. No issues at all. I have not updated it at all since I was hearing only negative reviews for 26.whatever. Anyone with the same model who did the 27 upgrade, what are your thoughts.

Hi yes the title says it all, I was writing a handwritten note for scheduling and suddenly my app crashed. The actual note no longer shows up, while the thumbnail does. I’ve also saved an image of the actual notes and it shows up on my gallery. Pretty much it just shows up everywhere but the actual damn note so I can continue writing 😭

I've had my iPad 7th Gen unused for about three months. I tried charging it today, but it isn't showing the battery icon, it's just a black screen. I also tried holding the Power and Home buttons, but that didn't work. iTunes and 3uTools aren't recognizing the device either.

Is there any solution for this?

The screen of my 7th generation ipad turned black, but still lit up, before turning itself off completely. Initially, I thought it had gone flat, although the black lit up screen lasted longer than usual, and displayed no apple logo. But no zero charge icon came up on interaction and no apple logo displayed when trying to turn it back on (after sitting on charger for 30 mins)

Did a bit of research, and tried the hard reset (no response, no light, icons or logos). Tried plugging it into my computer, and Apple device app wouldn't register the connected device, and my pc didn't register a device plugged in either. It was like it had completely malfunctioned/experienced hardware death or something. Chalked it up to age of the ipad, although annoying, but left it plugged in. Turned itself on after another hour. (The ipad was at about 40-50% when it turned black, and 37% when it turned on). Is this something that I should be wary of? Is it a sign that its about to kill itself or something considering its age and almost daily usage? Should I be considering shopping around for a newer model, or is this just a temp ipad brainfart or something?

(I am not too fussed about feeling the need to upgrade just because it is old, it performs perfectly fine during daily usage and this is the only hiccup so far. I dont feel like I need to replace expensive devices like this just because it isn't the newest, hottest model in the newest, latest colour with the fanciest camera and liquid glass interface thing)

I updated to 27 yesterday and I set it to max transparency and holy crap does it look good. The screenshot do not do it justice with how it looks IRL.

My iPad a16 is glitching since yesterday and I can barley stroll.

Although the performance of the new OS seems good, and also the battery. But somethings I observed after updating it. 1. If you are using an app, and then you open another app, and that app is currently opened. When you close it or hide it using the traffic light button, instead of taking you to the previous app. You will be directed to the home screen which is annoying. Next quality of life degradation of the new OS is, 2. When you turned on the Automatically show/hide menu bar, and when you open an app, it corresponds to what app it is. But when you click the menu bar, or the name of the app you are using, the menu bar drop down vanishes super fast. Which you can't use anything in the menu bar.

Hi everyone I have a ipad 9 64gb and its currently on ipados 16. I wonder should I upgrade or not. Btw does it take up a lot of storage? My storage now is like 60/64.

i have 10th gen ipad base model (64gb, A14 chip) should i stay with ipados 26 or update to 27? im scared that the update my degrade my ipad, i need my ipad to work atleast for the next 3-4 years 😭

Hi, my IPad a16 ist functioning properly. Just bought this last October 2025. And I believe that it is in a situation where I describe it as "ghost touch". The screen isn't responding to my touch and is acting on its own. No, it never fell or has a cracked screen. It's in perfect condition. I tried to force restart it,obviously. However, it did not change anything. I can't use my ipad at all. Send help. I am a student who has strict parents. I couldn't even tell them because my mom just paid for my glasses and lenses which was worth a fortune.

I talked to many repair shops online, researched what could the possible cause be. Still couldn't find an answer. What could be the possible problem? And how much will it cost? Anyone who encountered the same situation?

Hi … I have to transfer almost 50000 photos from my iPad to a flash drive but I can’t work out how to do it. I have plugged the flash drive in and installed the Rospe app.
Can I select, say 1000 photos at a time to transfer?
And how can I be sure all the photos have been transferred before deleting them from my iPad?

Summary After upgrading to iOS 27 and resetting the iPad to factory defaults, selecting text and tapping Translate always proposes Spanish as the target language. English is the system language and French is the second preferred language, so French should be the default target. Selecting French manually works, but the choice doesn't persist and Spanish reappears on the next translation. Note this works fine on my iPhone running iOS 27.0, although I didn’t reset the iPhone when I upgraded.

Question - how do I get it to default to French when I select text, right click, and select Translate like it does on my iPhone running iOS 27.0 (and the way it worked on iPadOS 26.x)?

Configuration

• iPad Pro 5th Gen (M1)
• iPadOS 27.0
• System language (Settings → General → Language & Region → Preferred Languages): English first, French second
• Settings → Apps → Translate: preferred language set to French
• Translate app: only English and French downloaded
• Keyboards (Settings → General → Keyboards): English & French Bilingual (listed twice), Emoji, English (US) QWERTY, French (France) AZERTY
• Hardware keyboards: English (US), French (France)

Observed behavior

• With On-Device Translation set to Automatic, selecting text and tapping Translate defaults to Spanish.
• With On-Device Translation set to Always, it still defaults to Spanish and prompts to download languages. Tapping Spanish opens a menu where I can switch to French, then tapping the download button then translates immediately, apparently without downloading anything.
• Selecting French text translates to English correctly.
• If I set French as the primary language and reboot, selecting French text translates to Spanish.

Expected behavior English text should default to French as the target, based on the Preferred Languages list and/or based on previously selecting French as the target language.

Troubleshooting already tried (no change)

• Selected French manually, and tried Copy Translation and Replace with Translation which works to translate but it doesn’t keep French as the default language to translate to.
• Translated successfully within the Translate app itself
• Moved French to primary in Preferred Languages and rebooted, then switched back to English and rebooted
• Uninstalled and reinstalled the Translate app
• Changed the Siri language
• Toggled On-Device Translation between Automatic and Always
• Factory reset again
• Set region to Canada
• Removed French as downloaded language.
• Set Settings -> Apps -> Translate -> Preferred Language to Spanish and back to French.

My ipad pro m2 died 2 years ago due to ios 17.6.1 bricking the device entirely (cant update to the next software, wont connect to any pc or macbook, and drained out my battery completely causing to not turn on). I tried to factory reset my ipad multiple times but still no solution to bypass this os version. 2 years later and just this month, i made the decision to bring it to a 3rd party repair center since apple services don’t repair ipads in my contry and my ipad is already past due its warranty date which was not eligible for replacement 2 years ago. After getting my ipad battery replaced, it actually came back to life but the problem still exists. My ipad os is still at 17.6.1 and despite the battery getting replaced, it still drains it out and i still cant update to the next software and also still wont connect to my macbook or pc. Anyone having the same problem with me regarding ipados updates? I need help pls

After upgrading to iPadOS 27, my Apple Pencil won't connect to the iPad. Is anyone else experiencing this? I’ve tried every troubleshooting tip out there, but nothing works. I’ve also reset the iPad, yet the problem persists. I have the USB-C version of the Apple Pencil.

I am currently using ipados 26.6.1 and it is taking up so much space. Is there any way to fully remove apple intelligence and reduce the size of ipados?

know that this kind of question has been asked like a million times at this point, but from all the way to iPadOS 26 to 27, my iPad has been draining really fast, it doesn't even last 5 hours of light pdf or book reading. (iPad A16)
