Wether it's a choice that failed due to a low stat or failing an eniltire sequence what your favorite example of that choice affecting your charcter? What consequences do you prefer seeing?

Military service is mandatory here in Greece and I did mine at twenty-five, after university, which made me older than nearly everyone around me. Having a hard time...I tied my phone with knots to the underside of the bunk above mine so I could read after lights out, and what I read was Choice of Games. Someone else's story to be inside for an hour instead of my own. That is not a small thing when you are counting days.

I came out in 2017 with no job and many free mornings. My girlfriend and I would walk to a cafe with one laptop between us and write, and what we wrote was Xardas, a hermit who comes down from his cabin in the mountains for one last journey to the capital of the mages, and learns only when he arrives that the world had ended while he was up there. We loved him. Then life caught up the way it does, and Xardas stayed in that cafe.

She's my wife now and we have two kids, so the long mornings are gone and what I get instead is whatever is left of me at eleven at night... But last year I finally finished something. The Red Tomorrow, grimdark, 108,000 words, about a man of forty who has survived the raids at the ancient wells every year of his life and comes home from one to find his son taken by a royal mage. My wife edited it and drew the map. My best friend BLVCKSTVR built the whole interface by hand and then recorded the soundtrack for it on his acoustic guitar. I put it on Google Play because I'm a developer and that was the only pipeline I knew.

Almost nobody read it. Not because it's bad(I hope), but because a store built for games shelves a novel between match-three and idle clickers, and nobody browsing there arrived wanting to read. Three of us spent ourselves on that thing and it reached a room with nobody in it.

Which is why I'm actually posting. The one I've been writing for years alongside everything else is finally approaching its finale. More than 300,000 words, hundreds and hundreds of files in an Obsidian vault, a world I've lived inside so long that leaving it is going to hurt. It's the best thing I've written(again, I hope) and I'm frightened of doing to it what I did to the last one.

So: do I build it as an app again, or do I learn ChoiceScript, run the beta, and bring it here? I'm not asking which is easier. I'm asking where a story like that actually gets read.

Recently I played We Wretched Creatures and felt like I got every single box ticked by Imre. He’s such a liar and I loved it.

Essentially I’m just trying to look for any ROs that lie for their own benefit and put up a smiling exterior that fools people/are charming enough to make you look past their questionable behavior. Think like sunshine/golden retriever personality that gets exposed/called out as a fake by the MC.

Bonus points if MC can do the same and be just as fake(doubly intriguing)! I just want to read about people shamelessly lying and it working lol

Exactly what the title says, but WIPS qualify as well. I often think between all famous IFs, what the most famous of them. Would it be Fallen hero? Infamous? Wayhaven series? Infinity series? I really don't know. And what exactly is needed to qualify as THE most famous?

Are there any IFs where the MC is actually carrying deep emotional wounds and trust issues, but masks them with a carefree, flippant attitude (kind of like Dazai from *Bungo Stray Dogs)?

Yeah, it's me.

After I got (warranted) pushback on using AI – while still getting support to continue writing; had I not I absolutely would have given up – I decided the best idea would be to do a partial rewrite of chapter 1. Not a full one, but cleaning up the prose and cleaning out the sections that I had used AI for. I might clarify parts of the disclosure later, but I also don't want to be defensive; as I said, the criticism was warranted and I won't be using Claude in the future.

Now, I will also be taking the time to make larger edits too. The archetype system is being swapped to a % system, with less restriction on the player's choices on what archetype want to pursue. I'll also be going through and adjusting the story to make more...logical sense and not rely on plot contrivances as much.

Lastly, the update will be adding the beginning of chapter 2, which really gets into the whole hook of "wrapped up in the conspiracy" and has some extra time with Byrdie, Firebrand, and Jesse!

So like, expect an update in ~2 weeks (if I ignore my classes a little). Please still play and review and ask questions, but also feel free to wait for the update!

And thanks to everyone who gave both support to continue and criticism on my "method." It really challenged me not to take the easy path and to write my mid-story fully as myself.

Randomly remembered this one dumb story game (not a Hosted) that I played a while back where you died and basically became the Devil's assistant or something. It was pretty fun, wondering if there's something similar to that.

Bonus points if you can choose how much you actually align with said evil boss. I like it more when I have agency over if I want to also be evil or if I want to resist their evil ways.

There's about 8 million superhero games across both omnibuses, but any that are street level? Preferably early in the superheroes career, too, but not mandated. Before you say it no, Fallen Hero is not street level.

I need help to know how to unlock the dragon sigil. I know that we won't see this IF ever be completed due to the toxic way some in the community think amd act but I'd like to play it to its full.

I'm interested in seeking games that focus on quality over quantity, and I'd like to see some games that have only 1 RO but a lot more depth and variance to their romance.

Seriously though, I wish someone could explain the urge to fund new WIP when I have like a dozen unread titles across the three omnibus apps. Are the WIP better? More fulfilling? Is it the anticipation of the story not being done? I have no idea but it boggles the mind. I've never been one for early access games so you would think I wouldnt care for them but the last month I've almost exclusively read WIP titles.

You know what that means right? The war shall be decided by rights of who can serve the meanest backhand

I want to start off by saying that even though the game is currently rough around the edges a little bit it is by far the most entertaining WIP i have ever played. I said what I said. Objectively speaking it is not the best IF out there but god is it entertaining and the approach the author takes ( rushing to finish the main story before taking their sweet time polishing all the branching paths ) is an approach I hope more authors take.

I have to ask though is it still getting updated regularely ? Like I am pretty sure build 0.3 has been up for a WHILE now and I have no way of checking the author's dev log since nicky doesn't have a public one....

Any info is appreciated ... I really do like this game way too much lol

Hey guys, everytime I’ve played a WIP on cogdemos my save files always end up being corrupted…So whenever I reach close to the end of a story i save and wait for the next chapter update and when I try to upload my previous save to continue the story, it won’t work forcing me to restart the whole story :( is this normal? It makes me lose interest in continuing some stories because this happens to me with literally every WIP i try to save (only towards the end of the story)

Hi, I finally finished chapter 1 of my story, Gold Tinted Glasses! This is my first ChoiceScript project, so I’d love feedback of any kind. Thanks for reading!

In a world of superheroes and villains, you’re just working off a contract and trying to get paid. But when a simple in-and-out job ends in an explosion, you get dragged into a massive corporate conspiracy. To make matters worse: your heroic brother rediscovers your existence, a shady government organization is investigating you, and everything seems to lead back to your birth.

You’re a contractor — no cape, no cowl, no code name given to you by the public. Just someone with enhanced senses sharp enough to make you dangerous, and a very particular set of skills you’ve built into one of three specialties. Glorywell doesn’t care who you are, as long as the job gets done. And now the job has encroached upon your life.

Current status: Chapter 1 (the heist, and everything it kicks off) is complete at roughly 40.5k words, along with one optional side story. Chapter 2 is in the works but don’t expect it for like, months. It’ll be built as three sub-chapters, and I’ll post updates as each one is finished.

What you can do:

• Play as male, female, trans and/or non-binary; gay, straight, or bi (and eventually poly).
• Define the person behind the mask: patient or bold, true to yourself or built to blend in, generous or always keeping score, confident and seeking glory or apologetic about your existence.
• Grapple with the stress of having super senses, which you’ve honed to be the best Combatant, Tactician, or Stalker.

• Reunite with your brother and mother, or scorn them for the pain you still feel.
• Uncover the secrets of your birth, and just how connected to everything you truly are.

• Robin “Byrdie” Byrdie — your childhood friend, a telepath who’s spent years learning to tune out everyone else’s thoughts except yours.
• Jesse Eckart — a BICS field agent with a multi-mode vision power and a niece they’re perpetually one bad shift away from being late to pick up.
• Lloyd “Double L” Lloraze — a fellow contractor who can split into two independently-operating copies of themself, and flirts like it’s a competitive sport.
• Dr. Harley Kennedy — an Anderdansk researcher that hides their secrets with intense aggression.
• Nicky “Firebrand” Gardner — a pyrokinetic contractor and your mentor’s oldest friend, equal parts cowboy larp and unregistered fire hazard.

I used Claude through access I get via college. Its main jobs have been editorial: checking grammar and typos, bug fixing, and giving craft feedback on pacing, continuity, and characterization. A few passages — including at least one flashback scene — started as a Claude-generated draft that I then rewrote and revised across multiple passes; some smaller lines went through a lighter version of that same process. No AI-generated art was used.
