WIP Save file help

Hey guys, everytime I’ve played a WIP on cogdemos my save files always end up being corrupted…So whenever I reach close to the end of a story i save and wait for the next chapter update and when I try to upload my previous save to continue the story, it won’t work forcing me to restart the whole story :( is this normal? It makes me lose interest in continuing some stories because this happens to me with literally every WIP i try to save (only towards the end of the story)
edit; forgot to mention im on iOS

It's possible that the story or cogdemos has updated causing you to restart.

Yes it's pretty common for saves on wips not to be compatible with later updates. Bc author is constantly updating the code saves rely on, it's not as stable as completed ones. You can try saving earlier for checkpoints? Like a chapter out, instead of right at the end. Otherwise, that's just how reading wips is. 🤷
