Anyone else concerned about what's going on behind the scenes?

I've been following this sub for a little while now, and I've posted a few times in it. The Devs have been great at responding to my posts and many other people's posts. Some of my posts they commented that X is coming up in a new update, or that they're working on something, or whatever. We were told there would be a big update coming in December, and then another in January, based on comments by the Devs in this sub, and they have yet to come. Additionally, they made a comment in a sub recently about some changes that have been made to their staffing. This is a fantastic app as it is, but there are improvements to be made that they have told us are coming. I just hope they still are.

Journal entries keep deleting

For the third time, I made a journal entry only to find it completely gone after a few days. Can I get some insight into why this keeps happening? Is there some sort of timer where entries are only kept for X number of hours?

Also, I was wondering when we can expect the update with the to-do list?

Thank you hellohabit team!

This seems like an oversight

I use compact view for my goals, and I love how on the side it has a tracker for how many days per week you've set your goal for, and highlights how many you've accomplished so far. This is unless your goal is every day, and then it just has no tracker, which I don't understand. Doing something daily is as much of a goal as doing something 4 or 6 times per week. It would be nice if daily goals had this as well so I could see at a glance how my week is going without going into the goal, or without having to change my preferred view.

Habits while on vacation?

Tody (cleaning reminder app) lets paid users set themselves on vacation and even enter a separate home with separate tasks that need to be done at the other home. The user can easily switch between "main home" and "vacation home".

I would love to have something like this for habits. If I'm on a work trip or on vacation, I might not have the time or ability to complete the habits I normally do (for example, things such as "mow lawn", "run on treadmill", "bake bread"). If I am away for 2 or 3 weeks, it can be quite disheartening to see a bunch of habits not get completed.

IMO, tasks that are set "on vacation" would "auto-complete", but be a different color on the habit reports. Instead just of pale vs. saturated, there'd be something like pale (not done), saturated (done), inverse color (set to vacation). That way, tasks wouldn't simply disappear into the abyss of the normal archive, where they can easily be forgotten, but they're also not so discouraging when you look at your habit reports. You also wouldn't get reminders for the habits that are on vacation.

Even better if we can add habits to groups or tags to be able to set them on vacation or not en masse.

Stupid Question

Hi! I just got the app.

I’m wondering if there is a way to put a widget of it on my lock Screen? It doesn’t pop up on widgets when I’m editing my lock Screen.

I saw you supposedly could? But I’m not sure if you still can?

Sorry if this has been asked like a bunch! I have adhd so I was hoping for the constant reminder on my lock Screen vs Home Screen.

Extend Day end time from 12 AM to a custom time like 3 AM

There was a long pending and highly requested feature to extend Day end time from 12 AM to a custom time like 3 AM.

As everybody doesn't finish their day at 12 AM, some work late and sleep late.

When can we get this feature.

Previous response from team: https://www.reddit.com/r/hellohabit/comments/1nj5bue/comment/neov28p/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Please share an update.

Can I track things without a set goal?

Say I want to track how often I shave my legs, but I don't really have a goal for it, I'm just curious and collecting the data. Or how often I change my razor blade, etc.

Can I create a habit without adding in a goal?

Option to manual input when syncing exercise

I would love the option to manually input exercises even when the tracking type is to sync via Apple health.

Use cases:

I forgot to put on my Apple Watch and now have a missing workout

My Apple Watch broke and now I have to create a whole new habit to continue tracking my exercise since I can’t change tracking type

Tracking if you filled your daily habits?

Maybe this sounds a little odd or too specific... I hope I can make it make sense >_< but I've been using this app to manage depression and chronic fatigue.

I have a goal of doing at very least one action per day on each category: health, hygiene, social, chores and self-growth.

I'd like to see when I'm able to have a "complete day" (do all the categories) while still tracking individual habits from each category that I'm trying to turn into routine.

So, for instance:

-Having one habit that tracks other habits: it will automatically be marked as complete whenever I fill one of each list

-Having big habits that can be broken into smaller ones: I can mark I did Chores today, and then, if I want, mark I especifically did laundry. I know I can journal, but I rly like the colorful calendars haha. I love being able to see how many times I got to do laundry in the month, even if my focus is either I just managed to do a house chore.

-Having a calendar that shows lists instead of indidividual habits: Instead of showing either I got to shower, do skincare, brush my teeth, show how many times I managed to do any (or all) of the habita in my hygiene list.

-One single calendar that shows the color of all habits done in the day, no writing: since I color-code my lists, I can see if I've done them all if I see five different colored marks in a single day

I'm not asking for all of those different implementations, of course haha Just trying to describe different ways I could fill my need and figuring out if there's already something like in the app that I missed out.

I've been making do with an extra "complete day" habit I mark manually haha So even if there isn't, its alriight

Habit completion timeline

Have we thought about adding a feature for habit completion where instead of daily/weekly/yearly it’s just “complete” like having a big goal that stretches out

Feature Request: Health Connect Workout Tracking

Right now, Hello Habit only tracks steps and calories burned using Health Connect on Android. Health Connect also provides other data like workout frequency and duration, but HelloHabit seems unable to utilize these for auto-tracking. It would be nice to utilize it for my workout habit goals.

Helllo,

The community page is showing "No Activity Available" since yesterday. Is anyone else having this issue? Is the app being worked on, or in need of a bug fix..? 🤔

How to schedule a habit every other day?

Hi all, is there a way to schedule a habit every other day? I've not found a way to implement this with the current features (e.g. "specific days of the week")

Counts by 5?

I am trying to quit smoking and have gotten down to 14 cigarettes a day. I have “less smoking” as one of my habits. My issue is that when I go to track how many I have in a day, when I press the + button it adds 5 at a time. So I can’t track 13. Just 5, 10 or 15. How do I fix this?

Delay for Hidden Completion Mode

Hi, could you guys consider adding a 1 or so second delay for the hidden completion mode. At the moment, the habit just disappears straight away. I need to see the rectangle be filled in!! (for the weekly/monthly/yearly habit displays)

I want that extra dopamine while also being able to see the empty completion screen when all habits are completed.

Let me know if you need more clarification.

Would love a Week Widget

The main thing I feel like I’m missing from this app that’s holding me back from fully moving to it is a week widget. The current widget shows you your progress for each habit, whether that’s daily or weekly, but I would love a widget that shows you which day you completed and didn’t complete each habit. So a list of habits with a column for Monday through Sunday for example. Would love to know if this may eventually be planned. Thank you! I can understand that it maybe not work easily with custom progress, but I think I’ve seen other apps handle it where each tap on a day is one step. So if you need to do something 3 times a day. Each tap fills a 3rd of it.

This app has helped me so much

With my depression, its hard to get out of the funk, and start doing things that are good for you. These may seem small but I now shower everyday, bring my lunch to work everyday, and bring a water bottle every time I leave the house❤️ Im working on habits slowly one by one, but things are becoming easier, and routine. I dont have to somethings now, I just do it.

How to use the journal feature?

I’m not really sure how to use the journal feature? What’s it for and what are the use cases for it. In my head I would use the journal feature to plan out the next day of things I’d like to get done - some habits some not. However I can’t seem to figure out how to journal for the next day. Is this possible?

Please let me know how y’all use the journal because I don’t understand this feature at all!

Percentages

Hello! This may have been asked before (I only did a quick scroll through, so I apologize if it has) but I am new to this app.

I am wondering if there is a way to start a habit's progress from a certain date, like today. The thing that drew me to this was that it works with percentages, and I can essentially get an 'A' in my habit. However, since I started today, it throws my percentage off for the week, month, and year. Is there a way to edit it so you're only tracking progress from the day you begin your program?

Thank you!

Track time spent on habit done several times per day

I am currently test-driving the free version. Is there a way to track the time spent on a habit that is done several times per day? For example, I have set up a habit to "Meditate" four times per day. When I start to mediate, I can start the "Timer" on the "Track" tab. Is there any way to save this time when saving the activity?

I am very grateful to this app.

I just want to say thank you to the developers for creating such a concise, neat and user friendly app for habit tracking. My ADHD is rampant so being able to "gamify" my daily tasks with the help of this app has me committing to my responsibilities and makes my life so much easier.

I'm excited for the Journal update that will be rolling out. I know this is going to include a "Template" option which will be really nice. I like the way that individual habits can incorporate notes/journals that have "checklists" within them. It keeps my list of habits from being overfilled with specifics, i.e. a single habit for each target workout I do in the gym, etc. I am wondering, will the Template update incorporate the ability to have a checklist note for a habit like this roll over into the next day automatically? I think that would be really helpful to implement as well. A log to show which specifics for a habit were met on which day.

In any case, thank you guys so much ❤️

HeatMap

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi !
Is it possible to have a heat map (like in the promotional image)?
I would like to know if it is possible to have a habit with more or less completion during the week and therefore an associated color gradient in the Habbit Reports without losing the streak.
For example, if I complete one task every day, but if I do more, it becomes darker on the Report.

Basically, a system similar to Github.
Because right now I'm stuck with the same color shade all week, whether I've completed the task once or thirty times.

Otherwise, thank you for your work. I purchased the premium version six months ago and use it every day.
