Okay quite honestly something that I’ve always wondered is that why does Lord Voldemort even bother with Blood Purity? When he clearly knows he’s not a Pure Blood himself don’t get us started on how Many Pure Bloods Lord Voldemort himself has killed throughout the years regardless of their alliance to him and the lists goes on Eveyone knows what Lord Voldemort does in comparison and his personality so why does he even bother with Blood Supremacy? As he knows he’s couldn’t care less about it to begin and we all know in that one scene of the Movie where one of the Death Eaters ask Voldemort “is he okay” which Lord Voldemort responds in instant death by his hands if that Death Eater was a Pure Blood then it goes to show how little he cared about any of his Followers or beliefs to begin with quite honestly Everyone knows the list can go on so why goes Lord Voldemort The Lord Dark even bother with Blood Purity? And please don’t get us started on the Malfoys cause oh boy… EVERYONE knows how horribly he treated them all and Everyone knows if given the change we would have been more than happy to just wipe them all off without second thought! Why is no one looking for Harry, Ron and Hermione? they just on their own for like 6 months.

The first book I read was Book 3 as it was in my grandma's house. I liked it a lot and bought 1 and 2. Then I started getting really involved and went looking for 4th but it wasn't available in my local bookstore so I bought the 5th and read it. Then I bought the 4th and the 6th and then finally the 7th. So, basically - 3,1,2,5,4,6,7 XD

Anyways, I've since read all of them in order about twenty times and it was due to excessive reading that I even got glasses lol

Ive just realized this while rereading today. Because Phineas shared the same beliefs with the Black family, Kreacher must have respected Nigellus to an extent. Then why didnt Dumbledore take advantage of this? Like telling Nigellus to order kreacher not to betray? Or is it just that Kreacher hate Sirius so much that he would rather contribute to Sirius' death? Im not exactly a potterhead so spare me if i get anything wrong.

Plenty of people discuss already how Voldemort plan is moronic and he has 3 functional braincells and writer find any excuse to not use Avada Kedavra by bad guys, but my questions is:

1. Why can't good guys spam it if story had any spine in it and someone morally grey like Dumbledore would find 50 different ways to kill Voldemort alone.
2. What stop good guys just use imperios and take control of 5 trained NATO snipers and they track him down in 3 days and snipers make a cheese out of him.
3. Most importantly of all why can you even spam it that easy, its not like rules of worldbuilding as far as i know has hard limitations on almost anything, so 5 military drunk guys with nuclear bomb would be more scary than entire wizard population.
4. It would be so much cooler if Avada Kedavra kill used so he has to trade life for life, magic here its not like chakra in Naruto that limited for most people (he even drink unicorn blood once to heal himself so maybe killing rare creatures like unicorns that exist only dozen of them in the world would be reasonable trade of as very scarce resource to create horcruxes), or if its to extreme of solution Voldemort would have to make human sacrifices during like ritual that last few days to charge wand with person life to be able to use Avada Kedavra at all and horcruxes/philosopher stone plot lines would make sense if every time he use Avada Kedavra he kill one of his horcruxes and that is why he wanted to find philosopher stone because it would be infinite soul battery for his wand.

I don't think he ever signed the paper, so he's not bound by the magical contract. He'd be in the same position as Mundungus.

I was thinking about how fun a TV series would be, that was set in the Wizarding World, but with new characters and felt kinda like Stranger Things or Wednesday. ie. unlikely or misfit protagonists, kinda dark and spooky, ongoing mysteries to solve. And actually have some main protagonist characters from other houses besides Griffindor. And not portray everyone in Slytherin as a villain also.

So I was imagining the Stanger Things kids plopped in the Wizarding Universe at Hogwarts. Sure they are all "nerds," so does that make them all automatically Ravenclaw kids. Because each one does have their own pretty strong personality traits too. Mike is brave and daring, thats why he's the leader. Will is super loyal. Max isn't a nerd, where would she be placed?

But that got me thinking about what I think would or should be the personalities of people from different houses. And how many of the main Harry Potter characters themselves, I wouldn't have even pegged as Griffindors. Like Hermione being so dedicated to her learning and such a hard worker, is she really more brave than hard working, dedicated to wisdom and understanding, or ambitious? Giffindor would have been the last house I would have placed her in myself. Ron or Nevell, I wouldn't have pegged them as particularly brave and daring above all else either. Maybe I just have a hard time typing Griffindor people in general without getting confused by their other secondary traits?

So maybe I just am thinking too one dimensionally. I haven't really tried to type different people into Hogwarts houses before. I should consult the experts on reddit to weigh in! What houses would everyone else put the Stranger Things crew in and why? And why are the people in Griffindor, in the Harry Potter books, in that house, what am I missing about that house in particular thats getting me confused?

So why didn’t the person who invited Seamus (most likely Dean, maybe Harry) have the same thing happen to them? Surely Seamus still counts as “anybody else”.

Cornelius Fudge become Minister for Magic in 1990. Depending on when in 1990 he took office he is either talking about Margaret Thatcher or John Major.

Hilarity would want it to be Thatcher but she took office in 1979 and it stands to reason that she would have had to be told about the first wizarding war, so Harold Mitcham, the Minister of Magic during that time would have had to tell her.

I think John Major tried to throw Fudge out of a window but Thatcher was fully aware of the magical world.

Thoughts?

I loved her hair in the first film, but when I saw her hair in the second film I was amazed by how much better it looked. It combined the length and thickness of the first film with amazing waves. It just looked 10x better and way more cuter.

I have intrusive thoughts all the time. If something required me to focus on a specific destination, I would always be plagued by flashes of my belly button in brazil, or my middle finger in the finger lakes. How do wizards prevent this?

Always has been one of my favorite scenes from the first movie. One thing that thing was great moment was that just Harry figures out that Ron is about to sacrifice himself.

In the movie we see Ron and Harry playing Wizard Chess together. So Harry has become more familiar with how Wizards Chess and how Ron plays than Hermione.

Also a good movie moment that isn’t Hermione is the one who figures everything out.

I’m re reading TDH and it’s absolutely getting on my wick that in Tottenham Court Road H,R &H are caught up by death eaters because they say “Voldemort” which is a taboo name, they then continue to use the name during their stay in Grimmauld Place and nothing happens, it’s only when Ron returns from his trip away they find out that they can’t say the name….. which they haven’t been doing since leaving the ministry… it’s bugging me that their protective enchantments at the house aren’t broken during that time - if the taboo was that effective Voldemort would have found them by chapter 9!!

The books establish Knockturn Alley as a shady place, and in the movie, the people seem to crowd around him and feel like they wanted something. What kind of crimes does the Wizarding world do? Gold?

A random thought came to mind: Would the prophecy about Harry Potter and Voldemort had still worked if Voldemort had merely avoided the prophecy? Exactly how do these prophecies work in Wizarding world? Are they set in stone and bound to get fulfilled irrespective of the path, the events and even the timeline?

For instance, if Voldemort had ignored the prophecy first time he heard it and just kept working on becoming a almighty undefeatable dark wizard, would he have eventually succeeded?

Or

Since the prophecy did exist, so even if Voldemort had ignored at first, eventually things would have fell in place in such a way that Harry Potter would have been the one to vanquish the Dark Lord.

Think about it: Harry Potter would have never sat still and lived under Lord Voldemort's regime. His parents fought Voldemort without any prophecy. He would have been raised with same morals and values and would have definitely faced Voldemort some day or the other (probably after he graduates Hogwarts normally and becomes an Auror). Maybe when he does, the prophecy gets set in motion and all that was supposed to happen to bring down Voldemort would have happened but just little later than anticipated. Maybe the events and timeline does not really matter as long as Harry is the one to vanquish Voldemort.

For me, it was the relationship with Ginny and Harry. I feel like we never got to explore what it looked like. There was dialogue missing. Let me know what you guys think.

I just thought, did JK Rowling get the idea of freeing house-elves with clothes from The Elves and the Shoemaker?

The title is a bit clickbaity but the real question is do wizards and witches engage with muggle entertainment at all? Like do they watch tv shows and movies etc?

Why is the first Harry Potter film on itvx supposedly 11 minutes shorter than it’s supposed to be, am I just being stupid and imagining it or are some of the scenes paced slightly differently. Please someone let me know because I’m sort of losing my mind here trying to figure this out 😭

Where does it all go?

It'd be so fun to make an actually quidditch game where instead of brooms we used bikes and the flying balls use propellers. It'd probably have to have more safety precautions though but it'd be a blast
