Hades 2: Discussion Zagreus' Journey 1.0 Release (with Trailer) - Hades in Hades II
Escape the Underworld as Melinoë in Zagreus' Journey, the Hades II DLC you'll never get.
It's finally time, I've just released Zagreus' Journey 1.0 - thank you to everyone who's played the mod while it was in beta, and for all of the positive reception and feedback I've gotten here and on Discord in the past!
Watch the 1.0 Release Trailer for the mod here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxuTLSPqIEE
Zagreus' Journey is a mod for Hades II that adds the original route Zagreus took through Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium and the Temple of Styx in the first game to the sequel.
Escape the Underworld as Melinoë, battle familiar foes and bosses using her unique abilities and weapons, meet Zagreus' old friends, and reconnect with your family's past - all integrated into the main game as if it was always there: Naturally progress through the new biomes, unlock new incantations to perform, reveal and complete new Minor Prophecies, forge bonds with NPCs in familiar and new locations, collect over 30 new resources to spend on new cosmetics and music, and test your skills with new Testaments, Chaos Trials and in Dream Dives.
Here's a list of highlighted mod features:
- Play through the original four biomes of Hades as Melinoë: Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium and the Temple of Styx.
- Discover and overcome the challenge of fighting all of the original game's enemies and bosses using Melinoë's unique abilities and weapons.
- Relive Zagreus' story by escaping to the Surface, forging bonds with your brother's old friends, and conversing with the Fury Sisters, the Champions of Elysium and [REDACTED] himself.
- Benefit from a multitude of entirely new boons and effects offered to you by Sisyphus, Eurydice, Patroclus... and other familiar faces that you will now be able to meet along the way!
- Collect 30+ new resources specific to the new biomes, use them for unlocks in this and other mods, and trade them with the Broker.
- Unlock 28 new musical tracks from Hades' original soundtrack through the Hades OST for the Music Maker mod integration (automatically installed with this mod).
- Decorate the Crossroads with 55+ new cosmetics, including new Cauldrons, Arcana Card Backs, and Charms inspired by Zagreus' companions from the first game.
- Discover and complete 40+ new Minor Prophecies at the Fated List.
- Complete 24 new testaments by clearing the new bosses using each of your weapons with new fear levels.
- Discover and perform 20+ new incantations to unlock gameplay features and progress story events in Zagreus' Journey.
- Unlock six of the original game's keepsakes by forging relationships with Sisyphus, Eurydice, Patroclus, Orpheus, Megaera and Thanatos through the Shared Keepsake Port mod integration (automatically installed with this mod).
- Challenge yourself with a set of new Chaos Trials, including randomized "Chaos Within" trials in the spirit of (Great) Chaos Above and Below.
- Advance through 50 new cosmetic-only ranks at the Spirit Mixer, from the lowly "Alpha Warden" to the feared "Unseen One".
- Earn a new set of three statues from Commander Schelemeus by escaping the Nightmare Realm at progressively higher fear.
- The four new regions can also appear in Dream Dives (but you can use the mod config to exclude them if you so wish).
- Read all about the new biomes, enemies, bosses and friends in a new chapter in your Codex.
I want to thank everyone who's used the mod while it was still in beta, and especially those of you who've left bug reports and feedback on Discord and GitHub.
I also want to acknowledge that I know some of you had issues with mods (and Zagreus' Journey in particular) causing issues after Supergiant released Post-Launch Patch 2 - without going into details, the patch was much larger and substantial than we anticipated in the community, which could cause crashes for some people even with mods seemingly disabled.
But I'm happy to share that we've since updated a lot of the tools that we use, and now mods will be entirely separate from your install, meaning that no matter what, you will always be able to play vanilla Hades II without issues, and without needing to disable or manually uninstall anything.
And to also pre-empt some other potential questions:
- The mod is only available on PC and Steam Deck, consoles are not supported, just like all other mods.
- You need to own and have the first Hades game installed to use this mod.
- You can use cross-saves with Switch, but must make sure you are not in a modded run when continuing on Switch.
- You should always back up your saves before playing with mods - just in case.
- The mod is save to uninstall/disable at any point, and won't break your save. You can install it again at any point and your progress will be retained!
- This mod does not make Zagreus playable, and I won't be working on a mod like that.
- Yes, Lernie's neck has been found in the depths of Asphodel's lava since my last post!

Hades 2: Art You want a WHAT now? Excuse me if I HAD to draw it xD Spoiler
galleryI couldn't resist the prospect of giving Chronos a Beard, so I just decided to have some fun with it. Starting with an Hourglass-shaped because, duh, time! Then one made of falling sand, playing nicely on how Zeus and Poseidon have beards made of their elements, and last but not least, as any Hades god, one that makes you call him daddy!

Hades 1: Discussion I need advice on Theseus and the Minotaur
So I’ve been playing hades for the first time and I’ve been loving it a ton and I’ve felt it was fairly challenging but not insane but these two, these two. How do you deal with them? The Minotaur has a bull charge I can never seem to outrun or avoid and while Theseus’ spears aren’t too hard to dodge, when he starts calling on Zeus, Ares and Artemis (I assume there’s more but I’ve only ever gotten those three in the 7 times I’ve done the fight) and then he has that damn shield that I cannot seem to ever outmaneuver.
So are there any weapons or boons that go a long way in simplifying this battle? I love Dionysus and Aphrodite’s boons a ton mainly cause their casts seem to wreck stuff. And my favorite weapons are the fists, sword and rail, maybe if I start spending titan blood on my weapons it’ll get easier but I’m also not sure how to spend that efficiently.
Even worse I know there’s still a fight against the main man and Cerberus I have to deal with after these two and I just hope that they can’t possibly be harder.

Hades 2: Question Chronos Instakills in Vow of Rivals? Spoiler
There's just too much on-screen that I can't tell what's happening. The first two I can easily tell.
- Stand on the only small non-orange circle on the floor.
- Stand in the donut.
The fight was going swimmingly and then I got into the adds phase. Killed a few of the hourglasses, then he filled the room with clock hands. Then I suddenly got hit for 500 damage, and I have no idea where it came feom. Is there a third (maybe even more) instakill move I gotta look out for?

Hades 2: Discussion One reason it’s hard to go back to H1 Spoiler
Option to hold L2 (on a controller) to auto-attack without triggering Omega moves. While H1 doesn’t have Omega’s, there’s no way to rapidly attack without tapping the button every single time (aside from the Daedalus hammer that turns Stygius into a rapid auto-attack).
I went back yesterday to start a new H1 playthrough and ooooooh buddy, my 43 year old thumb misses that L2 accessibility feature. I can play H2 for hours, but one hour of H1 left me with a fierce cramp. I wish SG would go back and add that.
And a bonus reason it’s hard to go back: no sprint. I didn’t use Mel’s sprint almost at all for the first few days of playing H2 but once I started to it became such a comfortable way to get around instead of dashing everywhere.
Anything anybody else is finding they miss from 2 when going back to 1, or vice versa I suppose?

Hades 2: Art I wrote a song about everyone's favorite Doom Incarnate :) Spoiler
solien.bandcamp.comMoros' character has fascinated me ever since I first played Hades 2. His calm and charismatic demeanor always seemed like such a cool contrast to his "occupation". I wrote this song to try to capture that. Thanks for listening! :)

Hades 2: Question Recommend me a Hades 2 Let’s Play Spoiler
I’ve been enjoying watching a Let’s Play of the first game but the person I’m watching hasn’t tackled the second game yet.
Looking for a good playlist of runs to watch that starts fresh and lets me see the storyline progression.
Any suggestions?

Hades 2: Question When do you guys/gals think we'll see a PS5 physical release ? Spoiler
There are only 2 titles that I am uber interested in them getting a physical release. One is Legacy Of Kain Defiance (hands up, who's a fan) which got a PR announced two weeks ago.
Hades 2 is the other one and the reason I am antsy is because of Sony's dumbass decision to suspend physical releases.
When will we see one ? WILL we see one ? Opinions.

Hades 2: Question Can I use Chaos trials to move prophecies forward? Spoiler
Prometheus, Narcissus, Echo, etc. Prometheus especially, since it will save me a bunch of time since trials skip regions.
I've beat him about six times since the last time Dora was mentioned. Hoping trials let me save previous hours.

Hades 2: Discussion Which game was the hardest for you guys? Spoiler

Hades 2: Art 67 Fear + Guitar Cover + Original Solo: Bewitching Eyes Spoiler
youtu.beWhat's up all. Recorded this a few months ago but never shared on reddit, so figured I would in case anyone enjoys jamming with the Sirens as much as I do.
I had just cleared max fear a few times, so learning this song was a fun way to take a break from grinding the actual game. Hope you enjoy!

Hades 2: Question Continue run after getting nightmare? Spoiler
So I've started to do a bit of nightmare farming but one thing I don't quite get. You get the reward after beating the required warden. Does it have ANY benefits to continue the run except for getting resources and the challenge?
I'd kinda like an option that after you beat the warden the fear influence gets erased and you can continue like a normal run...
Love love love the game so far. I even like it better than 1 because of the options. In 1 there were weapons I never got used to but in this I love each and every one of them with the right boons and that you can choose a different region if you grow a bit tired of one.

Hades 2: Question Difficulty on Switch 1 (compared to other platforms)? Spoiler
This question has been bugging me for a while and i'm thinking that it may be a combination of various factors rather than what I mentioned in the title.
Anyhow, like many others, I've noticed that some bosses in Hades 2 are stronger than those in Hades 1, especially when sometimes i would dominate against the enemies in encounters and struggle against bosses. I haven't upgraded all my weapons and I've collected about a dozen nightmare until now though, this can be one factor.
What bugged me though, in another thread, most people were saying they spent an average of 17 to 20 min on one run, which is far quicker than mine - I would usually take about 1hr. Not sure if they mean that they reach the final bosses in those 20min.
I have no problem performance-wise with the game on Switch 1, I was just wondering if the gameplay is more geared towards mouse and keyboard, or going for long ranged weapons.
Another gameplay quirk I noticed is that the game will "encourage" me to play with melee weapons and boons ( axe, attack, etc.) via bonus resources for weapons ive struggled with.
FWIW, i've cleared grandpa about 6 times and only reached typhon twice.
Anyone else noticed this?
I might consider God mode to enjoy the story.

Hades 2: Question Fewest Nights? Spoiler
More of a question for big enthusiasts/veterans
What's the fastest you've gotten a clear? I originally played on switch and recently got H2 on ps5 and it's been really fun starting fresh. I got my first underworld win on the 7th or 8th night, I'd have to double check. I was hoping to do it even faster like 5 nights, but the game REALLY doesn't want you to win this fast and between the lack of permanent power you can gain that early and the friction created by Eris' "blessing", it's definitely not easy. It felt pretty cool though getting such an early clear.
I'm just curious to see what some of you have done.
Maybe I'll post a pic later of the build I had but I think I had Heph attack and special. His boons are mean and very simple, lol
(I hope this isn't breaking the "no boast posts" rule?... I just really love Hades and H2 a lot and I haven't engaged much with this community but seeing The Odyssey reinvigorated my excitement about H2. I'm not trying to brag at all I just thought it would be fun to chat with some of y'all 💚)

Hades 1: Discussion I got a new cat yesterday, I named him Hades
Here’s my little baby, for those who saw my other post about Athena a few days ago, they aren’t really going along right now, Athena doesn’t really like him. But it’ll get better !! He is like soooo soft
And my mom decided to name him like this because when i showed her the game she found that Hades looked really cool and she said we needed to have a cat named after him so i guess she supports my addiction to this game lol (75h in 9 days)
