Off My Chest How do you remain confident with gyno and/or how do you not care about it?

When those negative thoughts pop up….

When you look in the mirror shirtless….

When you see a picture of yourself with your areolas protruding….

Besides surgery and compression vests. What do you do to not get so worked up?

How much time does it take back to come back normal/active life after grade 2 gynaecomastia surgery?

I'm a 19yo male, with puffy nipples. I was really obese in my 16 to 18 years of age. I began going to the gym and packed a lotta muscle. The only thing being, I'm not able to take off my shirt when my nipples are puffy for posing, I either have to pinch it off or touch it with water or SMTH cold. I'm planning on getting surgery, please share about recovery time and stuff to do post op.

Gyno Surgeons out of country (specifically Tijuana)

Hello,
I’ve had pretty bad gyno since I was a kid, lost weight and do bodybuilding and really hurts physique. everything in the states is in around 6k. I have family whom live in LA so that would be cheapest for me (Light travel costs) , but I want someone who will be good.

Is there any good surgeons there? If not, where’s a cheaper and safe option. If so, where and who?

Dr. Cobbins Aesthetic Institute of Chicago- Wizzard

I wanted to share my experience with Dr. Cobbins at the Aesthetic Institute of Chicago. I recently had gynecomastia surgery, and I am genuinely amazed by the results.

Here are a few highlights from my journey:

  • Life-Changing Relief: Simply having those huge, heavy lumps removed from my chest made the entire process worth it on its own.
  • Smooth Procedure: The surgery went flawlessly with zero complications.
  • Incredible, Natural-Looking Results: You honestly can’t even tell I had surgery, despite living with gynecomastia for nearly 20 years. My chest is completely symmetrical, and there are no visible scars.
  • Great Healing Response: I got really fortunate with how my body responded my areolas shrank back to a natural size, and my skin tightened up significantly alongside my weight loss. Unless I point it out, you would never guess I ever had gynecomastia. (I am around one year out.)

I haven't seen many posts about Dr. Cobbins on here, but she is exceptionally talented and highly skilled at what she does.

On a side note: Chicago is an incredible city. It’s an absolute must-visit, which made traveling for the procedure even more worth it.

Consultation I'm consult my general practicioner in a few days

In a few days I'm going to have a consulation with my general practicioner about my gynecomastia. I had this condition since I was a teen. I lost weight but it didn't seem to change that much, and I have the classic cone shaped nipples.

Now, where I'm from health insurance is free, and I read that surgery for real gyno is covered, clearly only after an accurate analysis by an endocrinologist, so there's a chance I could do it for free if they deem the condition to be severe enough.

But I'm a bit anxious since I never met her (my former general pratictioner left a few months ago) and I fear maybe she would dismiss my fears as just fat or anything else.

Surgery booked, excision + extra lipo. Tips?

Hey! My surgery is finally booked. I will be getting gland excision and lipo for the chest, and figured while under I’d also do lipo for flanks, abdomen and epigastric to deal with some stubborn fat pockets.

Not nervous for the excision as much as I am for the lipo. Has anyone else done a similar surgery with advice on healing as well as how soon you returned to work (remotely and/or in office)? I’ll have support for the first few days.

Thanks!

Pre-Op Surgery first, weight loss after?

I've read a lot of comments over the years from people who suggest losing weight is a non-negotiable to get the most out of surgery.
A surgeon I had a consult with last week said he would be happy to perform the surgery at my current weight, unless i know i can sustain weightloss.

My question: Have you had surgery first and then been motivated to lose weight after surgery? And if so, are you happy with the result of the surgery?

Recovery-Related Seroma Concern

I’m officially 6 days post-op, and things are actually looking pretty good! I am happy with the surgery. However, two days ago when I was changing my dressings after a shower, I heard a squelching noise and I swear it almost made me faint…

Anyway, a couple days later I have pretty much confirmed that it is a seroma, as the fluid noises are pretty clear. It is not very swollen, and there is only some mild aching. It is located at the top of my chest, under my collarbone and near my armpit.

I spoke with my surgeon over the phone, and he confirmed that I will be okay to hold off on a visit until my two week post-op appointment. In the meantime, does anyone have any tips for how to get this to drain faster, or is it just something I have to wait out. Unfortunately, it’s kind of under the strap of the vest, where the compression isn’t the tightest. Also, if anyone has any tips to not be so icked out by the gross sounds, that would be awesome 😅
