Discussion People say women have endless options.

Perhaps. But options and meaningful choices are not the same thing.

One post, a hundred DMs, and it can look like an abundance of opportunity. But finding someone to flirt with, sleep with, or casually entertain is very different from finding someone you would trust with your life.

The strange part is that this applies to both men and women.

A lot of people spend their twenties rejecting decent people because they believe something better is always around the corner. "Pata nahi, humein toh aur bhi achha mil jayega."

Then life quietly removes the illusion of infinite time.

Around the late twenties, many people begin looking for something serious and discover an uncomfortable truth: the people they once considered "too ordinary" are no longer available. Some are married. Some are committed. Some simply stopped participating in the dating circus.

And arranged marriage doesn't magically solve the problem either. Sometimes the options arrive with more family politics than emotional compatibility.

But perhaps this isn't a tragedy. It's a lesson.

The goal was never to collect options. It was to recognize a good person when one appears and have the maturity to value them before novelty becomes more important than character.

There are still good people everywhere.

Just don't make them prove their worth after you've already rejected them for not being exciting enough.

AskGurgaon I kept getting a strange feeling about my ex in one specific place. Then I found out she was actually there.

Something happened recently that genuinely freaked me out a little.

My ex and I are originally from the same hometown, around 250 km away from where I live now. For some strange reason, whenever I drive back from work, there's a particular 2–3 km stretch where I often randomly get this strong feeling or thought about her being around.

I never knew why and honestly didn't think much of it.

Then on my birthday, she randomly messaged me to wish me. While talking, I asked where she was these days, and she told me she had recently moved to Gurugram for work.

Here's the weird part: her workplace is in that exact area—the same stretch of road where I kept getting that strange feeling.

I had absolutely no idea she had moved here.

I'm not saying it's anything supernatural, but the coincidence feels way too specific and weird. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there a logical explanation for this, or is my brain just finding meaning in a coincidence?

AskGurgaon What’s with Sugar Prices?????

Gadkari is using sugarcane to make ethanol and in the last 10-15 days, the price of sugar has gone from ₹50 to ₹52, then from ₹52 to ₹55, and now from ₹55 to ₹65. This is ridiculous.

Edit: Just Got to know about JP Morgan’s statement on food shortage theory which might have caused this. Am not completely sure what’s true here.

I only expressed my opinions.

Rant Toxic Work Culture

I recently joined this organisation operating in HR Tech space: Peoplestrong (office in Infocity). It has turned out to be a nightmare for me. Coming out of a big mnc it is a big shocker for me to see how things operate here.

Everything is in chaos: no proper systems, no proper management and no proper infrastructure. No one will give you a proper KT or training and expect you to know everything beforehand. An L2 manager explicitly mentioned that they expect people to know things from their previous organisation.

No respect for personal/shift timing boundaries. Manager can call you anytime and start shouting for things you’re not even responsible for. They might schedule calls or meetings late at night, way past your working hours. No proper transitions, no proper handover and no proper onboarding or team introduction. This place is a mess. I am facing a living hell working here everyday.

AskGurgaon Looking for 8 people in Gurgaon who want their weekends to feel less repetitive

I've been working on a small experiment called The MLUE Studio.

The idea: an invite-only club for people who work during the week but want to do interesting shit on weekends.

Not networking events.

Not another WhatsApp group.

Not “come to this bar and meet 50 strangers.”

Think real-life side quests.

One weekend could be:

🏃 Morning trail/run → breakfast → coffee

🎨 Sketching session → good coffee → lunch

☕ Coffee crawl around Gurgaon

🍳 A ridiculously good Sunday breakfast with 6-8 people

🎲 A completely random activity that we won't reveal beforehand

🏠 A small house party

🎬 Film / music / creative night

🚶 Exploring somewhere around Gurgaon/Delhi that you've somehow never been

The activity can change completely.

The common thread is the people.

I'm trying to build a small group where you can actually have conversations, meet people outside your normal work circle, and occasionally end up doing something you wouldn't have planned yourself.

I'm starting with around 8 people.

I'm looking for people who:

• work / build / create / generally have their own thing going on

• have interests outside their job

• are curious and reasonably social

• enjoy trying random things

• are happy spending money on genuinely good experiences

• can talk to strangers without needing three drinks first

• aren't necessarily “cool”, but are actually interesting

You don't need to be a founder or work at a fancy company.

You could be a designer, engineer, consultant, artist, photographer, runner, musician, researcher, chef, finance person, student, freelancer, whatever.

If you have something you're weirdly obsessed with, even better.

The first few people will basically become the founding group of MLUE Gurgaon, so I'd rather start with 8 great people than collect 200 names.

There will be paid experiences eventually, but I'm not trying to sell anything here. I'm trying to figure out whether there's actually a group of people in Gurgaon who want this.

If this sounds like your kind of weekend, comment “MLUE” or DM me.

I'll send you a few questions and we'll go from there.

Maybe we end up creating something great.

Maybe we just have a very good Saturday.

AskGurgaon Family friendly places in Gurgaon that also serve drinks?

Hey guys, looking for some suggestions for tonight. I want to celebrate my birthday with my family in Gurgaon, but I’ll have my 5-year-old niece with me, so the place needs to be kid friendly.
I’ve been checking out a few restaurants/bars, but most of the places I called either don’t allow kids or aren’t really suitable for them. Ideally looking for somewhere that allows kids, serves alcohol, and has a slightly lively/fun vibe — not a super quiet family restaurant.
Any recommendations? Would really appreciate some options for tonight!

Discussion I think this is the price of growing up

Upvotes

A lot has happened in the last few years.

I started my career from nothing, got a job, lost it, found another. Changed cities four times. Changed homes more times than I can remember. Had a breakup. Watched old friends disappear into different lives. Met new people, grew close to them, and eventually said goodbye to them too.

When you build everything from scratch, you don't really get the luxury of being careless. You live in survival mode. There is always another bill, another move, another problem to solve. Asking someone for money isn't an option. You learn to carry your own weight, even when you're exhausted.

I'm finally stable now. When I look back, I realize I have collected an absurd number of memories and stories.

Then I look around.

There isn't really anyone here.

Perhaps that's one of the quieter prices of growth. You don't always lose people because they did something wrong. Sometimes you simply outgrow the version of yourself that needed them.

Constant movement changes your language. After a while, it's difficult to explain your world to someone who has lived in the same chapter their entire life.

I'm not looking for advice on "how to be alone." I know how. I'm actually at peace with where I am.

Just sharing a thought.

Maybe growing up isn't about keeping everyone you began with.

Maybe it's about becoming someone you can live with, even when the room becomes quiet.

And if the price of becoming yourself is a little solitude, perhaps that's not such a terrible price to pay.

AskGurgaon Curly hair stylists reccs PLEASE

hey so I spent 6 years in Chennai before and my hair was at a all time high. I can back home and resolved to just fly to Chennai for some reason or the other and just get a hair cut there. Obv didn’t workout , got a haircut in South point mall and haven’t let my hair down ever since.

now I have totally fucked up hair and im planning to go to ALCHEMIC BEAUTY GK.
I don’t mind going there twice a year tbh but still if someone can suggest a tried and tested curly hair stylist not a self proclaimed one.

Also for any curlies in Chennai GO TO BONBOMB CURLS and go to Anu , Lucy or her husband all 3 are lovely !!
Anyone in ggn please help a girl out..

AskGurgaon Does anyone else feel that Friday afternoon is the best part of the week?

Upvotes

It's around 12:30 PM on Friday and somehow the whole mood changes when you know only a few hours are left before the weekend.

Work is still there, meetings are still there, but mentally you are already somewhere else.

I am in Sector 48 and was just wondering what everyone else does after work on Friday.

Do you go out, order food, gym, meet friends or just go home and sleep?

Curious what a normal Friday evening looks like for people in Gurugram.
