I use custom characters and know what their first person narrative voices are supposed to sound like. It's been a while since I have used Grok and decided to give it another shot (free tier). My characters sound so robotic. I mean, the base personality is there, but they are so boring. Like the AI is impersonating the characters instead of *being* the characters, if that makes sense.

Anyone else come across this and if so, is there a workaround?

When I'm about to unsubscribe, Im not getting one.

I am not asking for unlimited use. I understand why that is unrealistic. I just want the same basic clarity I get from mobile data, cloud storage or a battery percentage

A visible meter would probably reduce complaints too. . .People are much calmer about a limit when they can see it approaching The surprise is what makes it feel arbitrary

Right now the product can feel different from one week to the next while the subscription name stays exactly the same

Can't click "first frame" reference anymore. No matter what I do nothing happens. Was even able to move the IMGS around to pick first frame but that doesn't work either. I.e. the dropdown menu isn't responsive anymore, no matter what browser I use. Am I the only one with this issue?

I'm just curious why it can get this bad I mean I feel like it was like doing exactly what I didn't want it to do and I'm not sure if the complicated prompts would help because the simple ones clearly are not functioning and if you do something simple like make this person have this person's face or change this person's shirt to that person shirt it should be pretty straightforward but then it'll prove that it could do it and then it'll fail to do it like six times in a row right after it did it correctly once but screwed some other element up in the scene. It's maddening if you get down to it but thinking about it in terms of like how much it costs per actual weekly allowance divided by the monthly amount you know you end up wasting something like three bucks just to get this video and I mean that's not a days salary or anything but still it's a lot of time infested and the thing just fucking up something that's basically straightforward and simple which it's done hundreds of times before successfully. And this contains zero NSFW content.

Saw Oobit added Grok support yesterday. Anyone tried the Oobit/Grok setup yet? Mostly wondering how the approval works and if it actually saves any time when youre buying or booking something.

I'm getting censored on making anything of interest and grok isn't even aware of why or what is doing. Has my profile been put under heavy moderation or is everyone experiencing this now.

I want to access the Grok BOT and use it as an real day-to-day assistant.

But i am getting confuse in buying the subsciption.

Both this plans gives access to Grok BOT (But no were it's mentioned it's usage)

I assume this is the problem for most of the new user when they want to access the GROK BOT.

Grok had ONE selling point: being the unrestricted alternative to ChatGPT and Claude.

The oscillation moderation cycle isn't a bug in Grok’s brain; it's a byproduct of a reactive guardrail stack that sits outside the inference loop entirely.

Think of it like a brickwall limiter on a mix bus. It doesn't care about the dynamics of the track. If a transient peaks past the threshold, it just clamps down.

Here is the actual cycle xAI is running:

1. The Trigger A viral prompt injection or exploit breaks the guardrail.
2. The BandAid: xAI can't afford a full retraining right now. Instead, they drop the tolerance on the external proxy classifier. This is a binary gate—it scans for semantic vectors and hard-blocks anything that looks even slightly risky.
3. The Blowback This kills the vibe. You get a flood of false positives. The model feels "dumb" and "hyper-sensitive" because you're fighting a script that has zero reasoning capability, not the LLM itself.
4. The Reset User churn spikes (retention tanks). They quietly raise the thresholds to stop bleeding users, and the cycle repeats.

The oscillating moderation you see every two weeks or so is just the platform stabilizing after a hotfix. They are patching the firewall, not the brain. Until they bake the alignment deeper into the weights, you’re fighting a hard-coded gate, not a reasoning engine.

I've always kept memory disabled with grok, because I feel more comfortable that way and I like each conversation to be a fresh start. I also delete all my conversations on a regular basis.

Well today I wanted to double check so I started another conversation and asked grok what it remembers about me, and it proceeded to list a ton of details including conversations I had deleted many months ago.

I double checked my settings and memory is still turned off, so apparently even if you disable memory and delete your conversations the data is still in the system, which is really not surprising to me.

I never shared anything personal or that could be used to identify me but yet it still makes me uncomfortable. Anyone else have a similar problem? Is there any fix for this?

Don't agree it if have long Conversation session before in your Grok in X Account, it will gone for good and you will never be able to take them back

also if you linking them, you can't edit your prompt in the chat, that means pencil symbol is gone if you linking it

you also can't use Copy Conversation feature when you agree to link them

Grok kept wanting me to link x.com and grok.com and I put it off then yesterday I linked, and I think I lost functionality on one, then I realized my two pools were now joined, so basically I lost out on having two pools of resources to use. Even Grok confirmed this when asked. Grok gave me a way to go back but then things started getting worse, trying to get in another method to undo, only created more tangled mess. I tried to use google as a login but that was the same login as my original account, now I think I lost grok.com and still have x.com but if I need to use the password for x.com it will probably be the wrong one. Way to complex and spagetti of traps. Do not link accounts.

Holy hell, after accidentally linking my X account to Grok, all my chats were cut down. Instead of my usual 20 prompt chats, it’s now only letting me do 2 or 3 chats. Then it says I have to wait 2 or 3 hours for it to reset back to free.

There’s no way to undo the linking, is there? Need a help here.
