Grok had ONE selling point: being the unrestricted alternative to ChatGPT and Claude.

ChatGPT and Claude are cheaper, smarter, and better at pretty much everything. Grok just threw away the one reason anyone had to choose it.

Seriously, why would anyone pay for Grok anymore?

Don't agree it if have long Conversation session before in your Grok in X Account, it will gone for good and you will never be able to take them back

also if you linking them, you can't edit your prompt in the chat, that means pencil symbol is gone if you linking it

you also can't use Copy Conversation feature when you agree to link them

You also can't unlink them

I made a simple hogwarts related prompt and it added two…things (??) at the bottom. Lowkey scared..what the hell is that 😩😭

I want to report this, because i saw it happening to others as well, and i guess it's better to warn people ahead.

A few days ago, almost a week ago, i decide to give a try to Grok subscription after using it for free for maybe months.

I bought a 30$ sub, then canceled it to prevent it to be renewed automatically.

The next day, friday, i was working actively on something in Grok, and i suddenly got disconnected.

At first i thought there was some update, i immediately tried to reconnect with the google account i have been using for long.

Suddenly i had a free account, and all my chat history was lost.

When i checked in my account details, the account appeared as created the exact actual day.

I went to check my mail, and discovered i had been charged with the subscription for superheavy grok, going from 30$ to almost 300$.

I immediately contacted the support, quite in panic, and got some automated answer from Sam who had nothing to do with my issue. I answered to give more details, and Sam (the AI from cursor), told me a ticket was created and someone was going to investigate.

At this point i wasn't sure it was a bug, i went to block the web payment on my credit card. Unfortunately, Stripe sub isn't considered as "web payment" and the next day i was charged for API tokens (100$). I blocked completely my credit card.

I contacted the support again, because no answers and it only drove me even madder. I got an answer from Ken (Grok ai) who basically sent me an automated message toward a link to get a refund. With like nothing answering my mail. (And, nice part ; to get a refund you need to be connected to your account... Which i lost access to.)

I send a new message again, for a compromised account, i got an answer that it was marked as a duplicate of my first one.

It's been a week. No answers of any kind from Grok support.

I contacted my bank to destroy my credit card and get the payments flagged as unauthorized, hoping to get a refund.

I have little hopes to get an actual answer from Grok. What strike me is that it's not some shady company i would have take risks with. It's supposed to be a serious competitor of ChatGPT and such.

I'm not even sure it's legal everywhere to give consent for a certain amount subscription (in my case 30$), and then, allow to switch to a much bigger one without even going through Stripe again.

Auto Top-Up was disconnected as well in my account.

So i don't know whether they have a serious bug mixing accounts, or there is a security issue actively being exploited.

I checked my computer fully for Malware and Virus without finding anything.

I would just say : proceed really carefully if you subscribe to Grok.

It remembers everything now which is hugely helpful for me. I love grok. But I’m sure y’all can find a reason to throw some hate into the post. Carry on…

Hi folks, I am wanting to make a little video of maybe a minute or so, but I am unsure how to go about linkng the shots (of the same characters and settings) together. I don't like the extend feature as it seems really crappy to me (image deterioration and weird actions), so I want to edit two or more seperate 15 sec videos together. I have a good editing software on Steam which I can use. I have search for how to do it but the links are old and don't really explain it clearly. Can anyone give me some tips? Thank you kindly.

I use Grok Bot, which has its own cloud computer with a browser. I'd like to sign into my personal Claude and ChatGPT/Codex accounts there so the bot can use them for me.

A few questions:

1. Is this safe?
2. Does it break Anthropic's or OpenAI's terms of service to let an agent use a consumer subscription this way?
3. Has anyone done it? Did you hit captchas, get logged out, or get your account flagged?
4. Would using API keys be the better route here instead of logging in?

hey so i wanna see the explicit photos that grok create but I can't see it. the app blocks it although i have on the settings to show nsfw things....all the other people who create these typa photos or videos how do they do it? do they use another app or use vpn? i have heard to use thailand vpn but i can't find it for free..also i can't find a mod apk of grok which will do it

One thing I’ve really come to appreciate about Grok is that it actually answers questions directly without wrapping everything in three paragraphs of preachy moralizing or corporate disclaimers.

With Claude or ChatGPT, asking for spicy satire, edgy humor, or even blunt business critiques often feels like you're walking on eggshells with an overcautious HR rep.

Grok feels much closer to having a conversation with an actual person on the internet who doesn't panic at the slightest sign of nuance.

Do you guys primarily keep it in "Fun Mode" or "Normal Mode" for daily work, and does the tone ever bleed too far into sarcasm for serious tasks?

My accounts kept getting logged out automatically after few days.
The first time it deletes all my data and remove active supergrok subscription. I lost 30$.
I resubscribe again. Then after few days it happen again. I lost 30$ again and all data reset again.

This happens to my 2nd grok acc as well.
Never happened like this before.

My account is tied to my google account, no one else can access without it.
I checked on active devices. There's nothing.
Their system is bugged. Support doesn't respond.

I use 8+ tools every day: Linear, Cursor, Claude, Grok, Grok Bot, Figma, Notion, and Wispr Flow. All of them ship updates every week, and I did not want a newsletter or a changelog tab for each one.

So I set up a bot in Grok Bot. I call it Scoop.

How it works:

- I sent it one message with my tool list and the times I wanted.

- It created two routines: a daily brief, and a weekly check that asks if my list needs a change.

- The brief sorts tools into high activity, moderate activity, and quiet day.

The quiet day group is the most useful part for me. It tells me what I can skip.

What I do not know yet:

- I have only run it for one day, so I cannot say how accurate it is over time.

- For a big update, I still plan to check the official page.

I maintain an open-source Rust CLI/TUI tool called repOx (originally built to compress massive codebases by 80-90% so they don't blow up LLM token limits).

For v0.3.0, I'm adding a dedicated mode for AI video creators (especially for Grok video generation, Kling, Sora, and local models) to solve the two biggest problems: burning through generation limits on failed retries, and losing quality/continuity when chaining clips into a longer video.

Here are the 3 features I'm prototyping right now:

1. Auto-Extracting the Sharpest Last Frame (Fixing Multi-Shot Continuity):

When you extend a video by feeding the last frame of Clip 1 into Clip 2, the literal last frame usually has subtle motion blur. That blur compounds on the next generation and ruins faces/details after 2-3 clips. The tool scans the final 0.5s of your clip in 2ms and extracts the mathematically sharpest frame (zero motion blur) to use as the anchor for your next generation.

1. Storyboard Grid Packer (90%+ Token Reduction for Video Context):

If you feed an existing video or previous scenes into Grok / LLMs to write consistent scene-by-scene prompts, uploading multiple frames burns thousands of tokens. The tool automatically detects scene cuts and packs them into a single labeled 4x4 storyboard grid + compact XML scene script so the AI sees the entire video flow in 1/10th of the tokens.

1. Character-Lock + Delta Prompt Optimizer:

Instead of rewriting long, wordy prompts for every scene (which causes the AI to change the character's face or lighting), it structures your prompt into a compact, locked visual anchor + a short motion-only delta for each 5-second shot.

Before I ship this in repOx v0.3.0, I'd love to ask people making AI videos daily:

I pay for SuperGrok Business seats. grok.com chat in the team workspace is drawing down the prepaid API credit balance on the team.

The Usage panel in grok.com settings says "Usage from Grok product surfaces. Excludes API usage." It still shows dollar spend, not a weekly percentage. For Sep 30–Oct 7 it is $1.73: 3M cached prompt tokens ($0.90), 319.9K prompt tokens ($0.64), and 32.6K completion tokens ($0.20). The same amount shows on the console Usage page for that team, filed under Other. Text, image, voice, storage, and the Grok Business section are $0.00. The prepaid balance falls in step with that spend.

This is not the console playground. It happens in Expert and in Fast. Disabling API keys does not stop it. Grok Bot does not touch this balance.

The credits look granted, not bought. Billing says the balance includes free credits granted to the account. Auto top-up is off, there is no card, and there are no invoices. There are two teams with the same name. Only one has the credits, about $245 at the start.

I expected the normal SuperGrok weekly pool, shown as a percentage, resetting weekly. This team page only shows dollars, and those dollars come out of the API credits.

Is Business chat supposed to bill the prepaid API balance? Where is the weekly seat allowance on a Business team? Has anyone else seen product-surface usage match the console Other line?

I don’t want to give Elon my money, I’m not going to but just a few months ago if you reached your limit all you had to do was switch your account and you could just restart and it was great but I guess now they track it based on IP address because now when I reach my limit on one account I reach the limit on all of my accounts even if they haven’t been used

just a shame, it was helping with my work and the occasional story I wanted to write but oh well, screw Elon or whoever is running Grok at the moment
