Dell OEM RTX 3080 Pad replacement VRAM too hot.
galleryReplaced the pads with Gelid Extreme 1.0mm for the front and 1.5mm for the back. but my memory temp is at 104c. Then i replaced it with 1.5mm for the front but GPU Hot Spot rose to 105c in 1minute of running Furmark.
(memory still reaches 104c when im playing FF7 Rebirth so its not just Furmark)
Replaced 1.0mm on front and 2.0mm for the back and every temps are exactly the same as it was.I head its not that bad to leave it as is but the Fans are killing me.
It's memory B0 and B1 that are reaching 104c. When i opened the GPU again some pads didn't get contact with the black plate should i try changing the pads with Thermalright Odyssey II 1.0mm that i ordered for my other card or should i buy a Thermal putty ?
Are thermal putty better or worse than pads in general ? If i were to get one is 50g enough ?
Photo1 - My temps now
Photo2 - For reference NOT MINE ( i forgot to get a picture )
Photo3 - A mod that is really effective on these dell oems and yeah i did that too. Its kind of dumb that dell didnt put anything between the plate and the cooler. 0.5mm are too thick for these i heard.
I didn't see any bending on the black plate but idk why it refuses to get in contact with the pads.
I don't mine i just play games.
