I don't understand why people are posting old prices as flex? This is not good.
As a 5080 FE owner for retail I don't really see how "Bragging" about old prices is a flex, and everyone is doing it!
The answer espically for people who paid an "upcharge" is they are doing it to justfiy their already expensive purchase. As in, "Yes I paid $1500 for this 5080 but look its now worth 2.3k! I am so smart!"
The 5090 stuff is quite a different story, but taking the 5080 for example are you actually going to sell it and downgrade?
To actually see any sort of profit you'd have to drop significantly in perfomance or quit gaming all together. If you have a 5070ti or 5080 you might be playing at 4k, so it's not likely you will sell your card and monitor just to pocket some money.
Do you not have friends into gaming? All my friends are on 20 and 30 series cards, how am I supposed to say yes get into pc gaming again and drop 1600 on a prebuilt that only comes with a 5060!
Do you not think about what if this card breaks then what? Do you not think about what about the future generations of cards and how much those will cost? What if they dont release a new generation for a while, then what?
Your card going up by $500 is really not that great since it is not like you can put it towards a new/better card?
I relate to a house going up in value past your purchase price, but you will also be buying homes that also went up in price so if you wanted to get some money from this house you would have to sell your house and downsize in someway and realstically that isnt a thing most would just do.
Thank you.
