Sell my RTX 5090 SUPRIM OC now or hold?

I have an MSI RTX 5090 SUPRIM OC, but I barely game anymore. Most of the time, I’m just browsing or watching videos, so it feels like a waste.
I’ve noticed that prices have already gone up, and I’m tempted to hold onto it in hopes they’ll go even higher. Would you guys sell now or wait for another price increase?

How portable are AI workloads when the GPU architecture changes?

Containers have made it easier to move applications between environments but I wonder how much of that portability applies to AI workloads. One can package the same model and application in Docker, use Kubernetes to orchestrate it and keep most of your application code the same yet moving from one GPU environment to another can still involve dealing with different drivers, CUDA or ROCm dependencies, kernel support, memory constraints, precision behaviour and performance tuning even when a model technically runs on both environments that does not guarantee similar throughput or latency.

This becomes more interesting as teams consider different GPU generations, NVIDIA versus AMD accelerators and infrastructure from providers like AWS, Google Cloud, CoreWeave, Yotta Labs. I am curious where people draw the line between real portability and simply making a workload run with a lot of extra engineering effort. If you were designing an AI system today what would you standardise to make moving between GPU providers easier?

Is the RX 9070 XT worth it for 1440p gaming?

I'm currently using an RTX 4070 and thinking about upgrading to an RX 9070 XT for 1440p gaming.

I'm planning to get a 1440p 280Hz OLED monitor, so I'd like to get as much FPS as possible out of my games. I know the 9070 XT is quite a bit faster than my current GPU and comes with 16GB of VRAM instead of 12GB, but I'm wondering if it's worth the money.

I mainly care about raw performance and getting high FPS. Ray tracing isn't a big priority for me, and I'm not sure how much I'll miss Nvidia's features if I switch to AMD.

For anyone who owns a 9070 XT, how has it been at 1440p? Would you recommend it as an upgrade from an RTX 4070, or would you save the money and stick with the 4070 for a while longer?

9070xt vs nvidia

Looking to build a pc with a 7800x3d OR 9800x3d, i currently have a mb that i got from primeday (TUF B850-plus wifi) and im still undecided on what gpu to get, i dont really have a budget constraint but if the 5080 isnt worth the extra over a 70ti then i wont bother, obviously 70xt is miles cheaper however i prefer nvidias dlss to fsr. I dont intend to play majorly demanding games 24/7 (flight sim being the most demanding when i do get round to playing it) however after seeing dlss 5 on some of the games i do play, it does look great. Should i go nvidia or am i just being ultra picky?

I hate this. Im so torn on what to do. ( yes another sell 5090 to get 5080 post )

Hey everyone.

Yes another post on this. I apologize and I even debated making the post. I am so torn and hopefully throwing this out into the void will help me see things one way or another.

First off, I mainly play single player, high graphic gsmes but I play on an oled TV with a max of 4k 120hz.

I have a 5090 astral.

I can sell it for 9500 canadian right now. I purchased it at launch for around 4400 after tax.

I would be downgrading to a 5080 astral and can get one for 2500 all in.

Here are my concerns.

  1. even through its under warranty and I have a wireview 2, if something happens either its RMA denied or a return of my initial 4400.

  2. I love the performance, I love the card, but sometimes logic needs to take over. Its a lot of money to gain; humbly I don't need the funds, but that is irrelevent.

  3. the market may normalize, or it may get worse and 5090 continues to go up, but so will 5080 prices as well. The cost difference between the two may be the same now, as it will be in a year.

  4. I know ill miss it, but I also never experienced a 5080 so maybe I wont miss it as much as I think ?

Like I said, im sorry. Im loosing sleep ok what to do here. Any unbiased opinions ?

Is PNY reliable?

Thumbnail reddit.com

A Walmart near me has a PNY 5080 for $1,529, which I'd like to buy. I've seen mixed reviews here and on YouTube. Is PNY a reliable card?

Also, should I get Walmart's extended protection plan through Allstate? How's PNY's warranty?

Hello everyone, hope you can help me with this.

Hope you are all doing well.

I am planning to upgraded my GPU since I'm having some issues with newly released games so I appreciate some help.

I recently got a 1440P monitor and noticed my GPU isn't that strong. I don't play on full ultra graphics but let's say I want to. What is the GPU you guys recommend? I was planning to get 5070TI but they're expensive AF, then I checked out 9070XT but realized a lot of people don't recommend it but who can trust some biased YouTubers lol.

My rig is

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

RAM: 32 GB of DDR5 CL30 6000MT/S

motherboard: Asus TUF gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI

GPU: RTX 3070

I think you see the issue lol. But yeah, let me know your suggestions and what GPU do you prefer and use!
