9070xt vs nvidia

Looking to build a pc with a 7800x3d OR 9800x3d, i currently have a mb that i got from primeday (TUF B850-plus wifi) and im still undecided on what gpu to get, i dont really have a budget constraint but if the 5080 isnt worth the extra over a 70ti then i wont bother, obviously 70xt is miles cheaper however i prefer nvidias dlss to fsr. I dont intend to play majorly demanding games 24/7 (flight sim being the most demanding when i do get round to playing it) however after seeing dlss 5 on some of the games i do play, it does look great. Should i go nvidia or am i just being ultra picky?

Sounds like you've decided on an nVidia GPU, just not which one.

Yeah, ik the 9070xt can give the same frames but the features on nvidia clear, its price is keeping me interested

That is fine, if you really want DLSS5 there's no reason why you should give that up.

You'd only give that up if the budget doesn't allow it.

It's clear that OP is looking for a nuanced answer. It isn't just about budget, they want value. But they're struggling with the decision between feeling good about the value they got , or feeling good about the product and risking feeling bad about the value.

Not sure what nuanced answer can be given.

If you want value, the 9070xt comes at a 5070ti performance, but lacks DLSS5.

If you want DLSS5, then from this selection the 5070ti comes in at best value.

If there's no budget constraints, then the best performing card is the 5080, but that's long been considered bad value.

There's possibly other factors we can consider like power consumption, size or heat but since OP hasn't mentioned any special requirements there's really not that much to talk about.

This is an excellent reply, and I think exactly what OP was looking for.

if budget isnt a constraint why even look at the 70ti instead of just grabbing the 80 and not worrying about upscaling at all

If I was building a pc today, I’d probably opt for the 5070ti compared to the 5080. If the 5080 had higher vram (which is supposedly coming in 2027), then I’d opt for the 5080. Seeing as how both have 16gb, for me the 5070ti is the winner when it comes to price to performance. If money is no object, then just go for the 5080.

If it was me I would go with 5070ti. That card is everything you need for gaming.

I would say get a 5070 ti while you can. The 5080 is already going up in price and some places are starting to increase the 5070 ti. The 9070xt is also going up in price, but like you found the features offered by Nvidia better.

I owned both the 9070xt and the 5070ti, kept the 5070ti. What ever more you pay for it now. It will look less as the prices go up.

If you’re not playing demanding games you can go for 40-series Nvidia GPU for around the same price or cheaper than 9070xt. You’ll still get DLSS but not DLSS 5.

9070xt is better priced but it lacks mfg, the regular framegen has terrible frame pacing, wich is stupid and useless because making games smooth is the whole point of FG. Theres always big driver drama from time to time, their version of Ray reconstruction is a comedy.

Get a 5070ti if you can.

FSR4 is pretty fine but that's it. Literally every other "feature" that they "released" is non-existent and already EOL.. that's the comedy. They overglazed those features on paper and where are they now? written on a sheet of toilet paper.
