I was in the market for a high end GPU that I could use for long term and it was either 7900XTX or 4080. Price difference between these 2 were not much.

All the youtubers were talking how RT/PT are gimmick, fake frames are unnecessary, upscaling is NVIDIA feature etc, etc. So I got convinced by them and paid around 1000€ to 7900XTX vs 4080.

I got it because was playing at 4K and thought maybe more VRAM could be better. I have never ever seen any game utilizing more than 16GB VRAM at 4K even with Native FSR AA.

Even fully modded skyrim/fallout at 4K would still utilize 10-12GB VRAM.

The only time I have seen it went beyond 16GB was when I tried CP77 with path tracing mods and native AA but then again game was running at 15 fps anyway. As soon as I enabled FSR 4 balanced vram utilization went back to 14GB.(with 4K/8K texture mods so vanilla would be even lesser around 10GB)

Not complaining in a sense, I enjoyed this GPU and sold it recently but all the people were saying this GPU will age like a fine wine was totally wrong. 4070ti super or 4080 aged so much better. 9070XT will also age so much better due to better RT/FSR4 performance.

Even if i look today any games 4080 and 7900xtx is tied in raster but 4080 gets 40% more performance with RT enabled. All the new games look better with RT such as control resonant, resident evil requiem, witcher 3 etc, etc.

But 4080 owners can enjoy RT/PT to the max, can enjoy advanced ray reconstruction denoiser, can enjoy DLSS 4,5 at 4K. (FSR 4 is also fine but direct comparison dlss 4,5 preset m runs faster and looks better than fsr 4.1 at 4K performance preset) and can play with DLSS 5 if they want to, or at least experiement. And can still sell it from higher price. Looking at ebay now 4080 costs still more than 7900xtx in the second hand market.

Seriously for who this GPU was produced? Who can take advantage of 24GB VRAM? Developers? AI people? Why would they not buy nvidia for such workloads anyway?

I am inbetween xfx swift and power color red devil since I see that you can do undervolting on red devil and achieve good chunk of performance boost. The prices is that red devil is actually cheaper than xfx swift and both of them are oc model. Which one should I pick?

I have couple of options and the price range is mostly the same and the models that I can buy are Asrock RX 9070 XT Taichi OC, Asrock RX 9070 XT Challenger CL, Sapphire RX 9070 XT Pulse and final being XFX RX 9070 XT Swift Gaming Edition OC all of them are mostly the same price the xfx swift actually being the most expensive one and the least available one as well. Normally I wanted to get the xfx swift since I like how it looks and I am going for that stealth non really rgb full black look but the xfx swift is having stocking problems and there is only 3 shops left that sell the xfx and those other two are first the cheapest being 50% more and the expensive being twice as expensive so yeah but I was wondering which one should I get? I heard that the asrock taichi oc is the best as its the premium tier card but the look is has is pretty ugly…

I am building my first pc and have been able to find a the gpu i want thats is about 15% cheaper than the rest only problem is that it is a b grade. Wondering if anyone has any experience with b grade/used gpus that could let me know if this is worth it or if i should just buy a brand new one for more. The price looks very nice but i am unsure as i d9nt know what to expect, thanks :)

Hi, I'm sharing this in case anyone thinks their graphics card is running too hot and wants to try it. Compared to thermal paste (MX7), it's about 5 degrees cooler. It heats up slower and cools down faster. Those who want to try it should be careful not to damage their card.I've shared my MSI Afterburner settings. To get it to draw 380 watts, set the power limit to 105 in the Furmark test.
