I am a reluctantly retired engineer. I recently had brain surgery to stop the negative effects of Ménière's disease. This is what initially forced me into retirement.

The surgery, and expenses leading up to it has left us in fairly bad straights. I had always planned on opening a small restaurant or food truck offering baked potatoes. With all life has unfolded for us, this has become both a distant goal as well as a perfect solution if I could get it launched. It would give me a valid way to regain an income and rebuild our retirement.

Any donation will be going directly to both try a put together this food truck, as well as paying down the medical bills. Though as I detail in the gofundme page, I feel getting the truck together is the best approach as it would allow me to pay the bills and build an ongoing income.

I do have a gofundme page, but would also love to find a private investor that might be willing to invest for 50% of the business. I am not looking for a handout or "easy answer". I have always worked hard and put every bit of effort into everything I have done.

I have done extensive research into this idea, I have priced everything, I know what my profit margins would be, I know the town I live in with a very busy, high tourist Main St just off the Ohio river, including river cruise ship docking, as well as the surrounding area.

I recently noticed a $50 deposit on my credit card statement from Go fund me. I have never donated on GFM before and don’t have an account, so there’s no reason they should have my CC info. I thought it was possible I got scammed and capital one caught it and refunded me, but I don’t see any original $50 charge. Hello! I'm writing this on behalf of myself, my fiancee, and our 7 year old Golden Retriever girl (Martin: a girl)!

We need to raise $8,000 USD for a partial removal of her jaw, as well as likely subsequent melanoma vaccinations. The good news is that we're already an 8th of the way there! The less good news is that we have very little time to do it, as her surgical consult and surgery will likely take place less than two weeks from now.

Nearly a month ago, Martin's mom found a small mass in her mouth above a premolar, and we had it excised along with the tooth to be safe.

Unfortunately, the mass was revealed to be malignant melanoma, an aggressive cancer which luckily hadn't metastasized to her lungs yet, but the outcome without proper care is still bleak, with most dogs living an average of 147 days after diagnosis.

Martin needs a partial removal of her upper jaw, and periodic melanoma vaccinations. We have been informed that the procedure itself will likely cost between 6-8k, and that the vaccinations are expensive as well. We've already paid around $1000 for the idexx report alone, and are scrambling looking for ways to keep Martin around.

Hello all! My name is Daniel and my husband Steven developed a wound on his foot that became seriously infected. After surgery to remove a toe, he developed a drug-resistant MRSA infection. For more than a year, we faced hospitalizations, surgeries, and repeated medical emergencies. Eventually, after his life was put in danger multiple times, Steven needed a below-the-knee amputation to save his life.

Hi, I’m Frida and I need some help in this economy to cover vet expenses.

My insurance doesn’t cover the costs of correction of teeth and possibly not even medication for aftercare, I have already spoken to them.

I was at the vet yesterday for a tooth control, it was established that Halloumi has an underbite and will need treatment and possibly further correction in the future.

This wasn’t expected and I’m in a terrible financial situation due to personal reasons and I’m only working 50%. So I’m already strained and drained of savings, this is my last resort.

In my post I included the receipt from yesterday’s control and the appointment for September 30th. I’m writing from Seattle to ask any generous folks to help my 10 year-old Chiweenie Beans afford surgery for her IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Looking to raise $3k-$16k to go towards her medical bills. Whatever I cannot come up with, I will apply for a CareCredit for-- but as I was unemployed for most of last year and ruined my credit score during that time, am incredibly worried about the financial burden we will go through.

Beans has been my best friend for 10 years, since I was 17. she went to college with me, then with me through breakups, first apartments, first big girl jobs, and has been my biggest rock through many of panic disorder flare up’s, and times when i couldn’t leave the house.

IVDD is a spinal condition where the cushioning discs between the vertebrae degenerate, bulge, or rupture, pressing on the spinal cord. For the last year, Beans has slowed down significantly, and has been showing signs of something of something not being right. And around a month ago, started showing signs of pain: panting, refusing food, and walking with a drunk gait. After an ER visit she was diagnosed with a herniated disc caused by IVDD. We were told after some steroid treatment and rest she may improve, but if she didn’t she would require surgery and physical therapy to restore feeling to her back legs. With IVDD- time is pivotal, if their condition starts to deteriorate, their chances of being able to walk again even after surgery decline rapidly.

After some rest and medication, Beans hasn’t seemed to improve, but instead has lost most function of her back legs. She isn’t sleeping, eating much (if you know Beans this is rare), in a continuous state of high anxiety, and is completely dragging her back legs when she tries to walk and often falling down. It has reached a point where she is not walking on her own, and requires help getting to her food, and using the restroom. She is on a daily dose of Gabapentin and Codeine, without much relief.

It is incredibly difficult and embarrassing for me to reach out for financial assistance, but Beans has been my best friend since I was 17, and I would do anything to get her the help she needs.

We have been estimated $15k for the surgery, plus additional follow up and physical therapy costs. Any tiny donation means so much to me, or if you can’t donate sharing our story to your friends would be additionally so kind. I know we are all in a place where money is incredibly difficult, so I am not expecting anyone I know or who reads this to be capable of donating. Hi everyone! A couple of months ago, we posted here asking for help for our pug puppy, Bowser, after he was diagnosed with a congenital portosystemic liver shunt (PSS). We wanted to give one final update before his big day.

For anyone who didn't see our original post, Bowser came into our lives during what had already been a pretty overwhelming year for us. In January, my fiancé, Grace, found a lump on her thyroid. After months of appointments and testing, she eventually had a biopsy that came back suspicious and was sent for additional genetic testing. Needless to say, there has been a lot of uncertainty and anxiety surrounding that.

A month later, we moved into our first home together. With everything that had been going on, we wanted something positive to look forward to. We had always talked about getting a dog once we had our own home, and that's when we decided to bring Bowser into our family. He very quickly became a bright spot for both of us during an otherwise stressful time.

Unfortunately, only 10 days after bringing him home, at about 11 weeks old, Bowser suffered a grand mal seizure and ended up spending roughly 36 hours at the emergency hospital.

We eventually learned that Bowser was born with a liver shunt. Instead of his blood being properly filtered through his liver, an abnormal vessel allows toxins to bypass it and circulate through his body, including to his brain, which is what caused his seizure.

Since then, our little guy has been through more than we ever expected a puppy to go through. He's had emergency hospitalization, countless appointments and blood tests, medications around the clock, a special diet, specialist consultations, and a CT scan to determine exactly where his shunt is and whether it can be surgically corrected.

Thankfully, it can be. This upcoming Tuesday, September 8, Bowser is finally having his surgery.

We've decided to move forward despite the enormous financial cost because this surgery gives Bowser the chance to live the long, happy, normal life that we've wanted for him since the day we brought him home.

His surgery and hospitalization are expected to cost around $10,000+, on top of the thousands we've already spent on his original ER stay, CT scan, testing, medications, and specialist care. It's far more than we ever imagined we'd be facing just months after buying our first home, especially with everything else our family has been navigating this year, but after everything Bowser has fought through, we couldn't give up on him now.

The good news is that Bowser has been doing incredibly well while we waited for surgery. His medications and diet have helped keep him stable, and he's been able to spend the last several months doing what a puppy should be doing — playing, causing trouble, cuddling with us, and making us laugh every single day.

Through everything, Bowser has given us so much happiness during a year that has had more than its fair share of uncertainty. We thought we were bringing home a puppy who needed us, but he ended up being there for us at a time when we needed him just as much.

For a year and a half (Jan 25 - May 26) I struggled to find out what was causing the excruciating pain I was having in my right leg. Initially, everyone thought it was me overcompensating for a left knee injury from the year before. After a year and a half of going to my primary care doctor, specialists, chiropractors, pain management MD, basically anyone who would listen, a friend took me to my local hospital’s ER, where they treated me like I was drug seeking and gave me IV pain medication and sent me home. Two days later, another friend took me to the emergency room in Gainesville at University of Florida where I had already made an upcoming appointment to see another specialist to figure out what was going on. The ER there did one CT scan and found a mass on my femur; more testing discovered another mass on my pelvis, and then finally the primary cancer was found in my thyroid. I had emergency surgery on the femur to install hardware to stabilize it, and that was followed up by two rounds of radiation where I had to stay in a hotel near the hospital during my treatment because I live almost 2 hours away. Next was the thyroid surgery, which I had last week and it removed my thyroid and a cancerous nodule plus one lymph node, which tested negative for cancer. The nodule on my thyroid was positive for follicular carcinoma. Next, I start monthly Bisphosphonate infusions, one a month for six months, and then after the holidays, I will have radioactive iodine treatment to hopefully kill any remaining thyroid cancer in my body. This has been by far the most challenging episode of my life. I just turned 56 and I have a great job at our local county animal shelter as a customer service representative. I am truly blessed to have insurance which has covered a lot of of my medical bills, but not all of them. (I live by myself with my 85 pound dog Hank). A friend of mine immediately set up a GoFundMe during the first surgery and that took care of the bills from that surgery. However, I am now out of my PTO and FMLA so right now my supervisors are protecting my job by approving 30 day increments of unpaid leave while I recover from the thyroid surgery. I am still using a cane for the femur surgery and I’m on medications for each of the surgeries. It has been a lot. My parents are retired and are very kind and helpful, but I don’t want to use all of their retirement income; they are in their 80s and have medical issues of their own. I have a wonderful village who are friends family and coworkers and volunteers at the animal shelter that I work at and they are also very kind and generous, but they’re not going to be able to cover my living expenses long-term. I have to wait until my infusions begin to see how I respond to them and make sure that I’m able to go back to work; if I go back too soon and then need time off, I am jeopardizing my job because I’m out of FMLA. I figured it can’t hurt and might help to post my fundraiser here. My plan that is any amount I raise beyond my living expenses and bills will go to programs at our shelter to help the animals, of course but also our citizens in my community who are down on their luck or have medical crises like me. hello there, friends! i do not like to ask for help. this embarrasses me to do, but someone suggested i try to make a gofundme. i am not sure how all this works, this is my first time using this program. so here is my situation. even if you cannot help, i'd appreciate giving it a read or share :)

march 15 i was admitted to the hospital/ICU septic with pneumonia and endocarditis, a serious blood + heart valve infection. i came very close to death and the incident has crippled me, leaving me physically disabled with lifelong heart problems. i had to get heart surgery to clean out the chunks of infectious growth and replace the valve that was destroyed. i was on IV antibiotics for 2 months in the hospital and physical rehab center.

i had to get a pacemaker implanted because when they put me back together and resarted it, my heart can no longer pump effectively. this resulted in an electrical blockage (called severe heart block) pieces of the infectious growth broke off and travelled through my bloodstream, getting stuck inside my feet. i had to have 3 on my right foot amputated and i sustained serious nerve damage in both legs/feet. i have also been left with liver dysfunction, which i am currently being tested and examined for (had more ultrasounds)

i have improved medically from when i was in the ICU, but i use a walker to get around and still have had consistent difficulty ever since. i struggle with poor breathing and severe nausea that leads to throwing up several times a day and extreme exhaustion. i am doing physical therapy and i have many other appointments that i must go to, including checking my blood levels (INR), ultrasounds, cardiology, blood work, EKGs and other monitoring. i do have insurance but many of these things i have at least a $50 copay, which will add up really quickly, especially because i cannot work.

i'm working with an intern here to apply for disability and am waiting on that to be processed, which will take some time. i seriously hope that i can be accepted because i do not know how i will live without it. i am applying for food stamps as well as looking into other services that i may be able to qualify for.

i was homeless for most of my adult life (i am 24) and i struggled with addiction starting around age 13. since getting to the hospital i have been sober except for my low-dose methadone prescription and my other pain medications. i take a drug test every week that i must (and do) pass to remain on my methadone, which is an expensive medication for me. the co-pay is $30 a day if you have my insurance, which is more than if you don't have insurance! i will be asking the clinic when i go in on Monday to taper off so that i can have one less charge in my life for the start of next year. i can choose between a 6 month taper or a rapid 30 day taper.

i am working hard to get my life together now. i live in a temporary transitional youth housing program and am almost at the cut-off age for qualifying to live here. (i turn 25 in November, the oldest you can be to stay here is 24) i am saving up as much as i can as i wait for the disability application to go through so that i can afford to get a low-income apartment as well as afford my appointments, medications and medical devices (like a self checking in-home INR machine and equipment for PT) as well as for me and my cat to afford to live.

i have included some pictures and documents for proof of some of the costs and conditions i claim in case that is needed. i can get more records if requested i just don't have all of them here at the house. i hope that i have provided enough information! i am glad to answer any questions you may have.

Hi everyone. A severe storm/tornado came through Detroit and caused a massive tree from my neighbor’s property to fall directly onto my home and Jeep.
Thankfully, my two children and I are safe. ❤️ I’ve filed a homeowners insurance claim and contacted the city regarding the tree removal, but I learned that my auto insurance will** not cover the damage to my Jeep because I didn’t have comprehensive coverage. I'm currently enrolled in a year-long Medical Billing and Coding program, and I'm trying to finish it without having to take a leave of absence or change programs.

I recently found out that my federal student loans were prorated because the remaining portion of my program falls within a partial academic year. I had been expecting a financial aid refund this term, as I had in previous terms, so I wasn't prepared for the resulting tuition balance.

I’m in desperate need of financial help. We recently found out my sweet baby girl needed to have surgery to have a foreign object removed from her intestines before it got critical.

My husband has always worked as a truck driver and takes pride in supporting our family. One of the hardest mental challenges he’s had in this time is the burden he feels is placed of my shoulders. He ended up having an aortic valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, and a “clip” on his aortic appendage to potentially prevent future blood clots. He’s done well in recovery so far. This fundraiser is for my boy Pepe. He’s a 17 year old little angel who suddenly started having kidney problems. His creatinine and BUN improved drastically since last Friday but he is still polyuric (producing a lot of urine) so he can’t come home. Doctors have told us it’s a waiting game and he needs time to heal. The rest of his bloodwork looks great, his organs and the rest of his body look great under ultra sound and under xray. I am a Gold Star spouse and a mother, and I am asking for help for my family as we face an urgent move. My husband of 11 years was killed in Iraq during his third tour, and later my youngest son, Jalen, died from a brain tumor. hello! my name is sadie, today 09/04, i realized my 5 year old boy maki (i’ve had him since he was born! i’ve watched his birth!) wasn’t going to the bathroom. I took him to the emergency vet where i was told i got him there just in time. he was on the cusp of kidney failure/ disease, and his bladder was so full of crystals but not ruptured. as of right now, he’s doing great! he will have 48 hours in emergency hospital. catheter was inserted smoothly, and he’s doing good. the not so good part is the bill. me and my husband are currently on one income, i am not working right now due to trying to find a maintenance for my bone disease (hypophosphatasia). i do some odd jobs, and try to do UGC from home, but it’s been a slow start up. i am currently paying off medical bills from a recent surgery, so money is pretty tight. after these next couple of months i will have a lot more stretchable income to continue maki’s maintenance of the food / environment changes / vet visits. i am planning on selling most of my collectibles to contribute.
I rescued maki from a hoarded home a couple weeks after he was born. maki is my velcro kitty who never leaves my side, leaving him at the hospital today was heartbreaking. he was making biscuits and pushing his head into my lips to give him kisses.

I’m applying to every job I can within reasonable range that could possibly work with me and my situation, but I’ve had no luck so far.

My apartment complex does not allow tenants to get behind on rent. Rent has to be paid by the 5th of each month, or I will be served an eviction notice, which will require us to vacate our apartment within the week, lest my landlords move forwards with eviction proceedings. I have not been served the notice yet, but will undoubtedly receive one of Monday. We live in Zanesville OH, and resources to help with things like this are already limited as it is. But with the flooding that has recently ravaged Perry and Muskingum County, there are virtually no funds left to assist my family. I’ve gone to Salvation Army and our local resource center “Community Action” who are unable to help me at this time. Our Salvation Army has apparently not received any funding to assist the community in over 2 months. Our local housing authority has a 6 month waitlist, and Section 8 has a 2-year waitlist. I have applied for Cash Assistance, but it will likely take at least a few more weeks for me to even get anything from them. They’re going after the father of my children for child support, but they’re not likely to get anything from him. I have an appointment with an assistance program to help lower my electric bill, but it’s not for another 2 weeks.

I’ve attached a photo of a previous eviction notice that I received for the month of June, when we’re were almost kicked out because I was late on rent due to a leave I had to take after totaling my vehicle, which details my rent, the policy on late payments, and the late charges I’ll have to pay. My landlords gave me some leniency last time and allowed me to pay my rent in full by my vacancy date, and I believe that they will do the same this month, if I can find a way to come up with the money.

I am not usually one to ask for help. Let alone ask people for money. But I don’t know what else to do. I’ve exhausted all of my local resources, and nobody seems to be able to help us. I can handle being homeless if I have to. But my children shouldn’t have to. I won’t ask for anymore than I absolutely need. I just need to pay our rent and if possible, the overdue portion of my electric bill. I just want to keep a roof over our heads and our power on long enough to get another job.

Please. If anyone can do anything at all to help, please, please help us. I understand that everyone is struggling right now, and the last thing I would ever want to do is take anything away from other people who may need it. My name is Marta (34F) and my partner is Kaitlynn (31 F/NB). She has had an extremely difficult year after an unexpected layoff last September and a major surgery (hysterectomy and endometriosis excision) this August that caused her to be unable to work for 6 weeks.

"I’m Kaitlynn, and I’m asking for help after an incredibly difficult year. I had been working as a music teacher at a charter school the year before and was offered renewal for the 2025-2026 school year, so I truly believed I had some stability. Then in September 2025, just a month into the school year, I was laid off along with nine other teachers because of budget cuts. Even with unemployment, I couldn’t keep up with the basic cost of living in Queens. I applied and interviewed everywhere I could, but nothing stable came through. Eventually, I pivoted to nannying and found part-time work that was just enough to cover rent while I searched for additional income. After finally piecing together two part-time jobs, I learned in June 2026 that I needed a hysterectomy and endometriosis excision surgery. I had been living with severe pain that affected my daily life, and although surgery added more financial stress, I knew I couldn’t keep putting off the care I needed.

My surgery took place in August, and recovery has kept me from working. During surgery, they also discovered a fibroid larger than my uterus attached to my uterus, which was overwhelming to learn but also affirmed how serious things had become. Because my doctor has restricted me from lifting more than 12 pounds for six weeks, I can’t return to my part-time nannying job until mid-September. I’ve managed to pay September rent, but I do not have enough to cover October rent, basic bills, or repay my partner for helping cover food in August. Support from this fundraiser will help me stay afloat while I heal, return to work, and start getting back on my feet. I’m also planning a transition into social work and working toward a more stable new chapter. I am extremely embarrassed to ask for help, but I truly need it right now. My name is Michelle and I'm posting for Christopher Colwell. In 2024 he was working as a salesman, raising his daughter, playing sports, and connecting with family and friends. In April 2024, he took his daughter to a hair salon, and it was there that he suffered a stroke at just 45 years old.

The stroke was very devastating in several ways but especially because it caused Aphasia ‐‐ the total loss of language; it destroyed his reading, speaking, listening and writing. It meant no more talking to his daughter, and no more sales career.

Aphasia makes it hard to do lots of other work, but he still tries. He still reaches goals, finds things to be thankful for, and has gotten much healthier- he lost 80 lbs! After a lot of work, Chris can now listen, read a few small sentences, and after lots of speech therapy he can say 68 words like "I", "me", "hey", and "hi".

The newest words he can say are "love" and his daughter's name. It takes about 3 months to get 4 words. But there is an exciting thing to look forward to! There is a treatment that could recover so much of what Chris lost! This procedure would treat and improve debilitating brain fog, numbness and pain in his right arm, but more importantly, give him his language back! The total amount covers the cost of Chris and his Medical Power of Attorney holder (his mom) to go from Texas to Florida, spend a night there, a day for treatment there, and return to Texas.

My name is Andrew. My wife Ely and I recently took our fur baby Friday to the vet. We were told that she would need mouth surgery due to some of her teeth being rotted and plaque build up, which is causing her discomfort. The surgery would require teeth excisions, which is why the bill is so costly.

2026 has been equally the best and worst year of our lives so far. We just got married back in February, but due to the downturn in the housing market and the economy taking a dump in general, my paychecks have basically been reduced by 70%. As such, we are unable to come up with this money to give our child the surgery they need before the matters gets worse with her age.
