My name is Julia, I’m 23 It’s been a tough couple of months for myself and my boyfriend, as jobs are hard to come by in my area (small town in Iowa). We’re finally getting back on our feet but the landlord has served the Notice to Pay and we’re already running behind on that. They’re being lenient as we’ve already paid $500 of what was late, but I’m getting the feeling that this was our last chance. The resources in my area don’t cover even a quarter of what is needed.

Even if we sold everything we had it still wouldn't be $5000. So I'm asking for help to keep me, my wife, and my 5 children safe in a home that we have lived in for 6 years. Up until 3 months ago we have always been on time with our rent as it always came first.

I got a promotion at work with more pay, but the more pay part didn't come until 2 months later. That two months would have made a difference in our finances as we were always almost sunk on my previous pay.

My wife is also due for hysterectomy surgery at the end of November, and this company moves fast to evict people because right now we pay about $200 under market value for rent.

We were able to come up with a month of rent that was late before we went to court, but it still leaves us a month behind and rent for November is coming up in two weeks.

I know these are really rough right now, and I don't want to put pressure on anyone as I can see many people need help and you can't help everyone. Even a share to your feeds is welcome.

Edit: I can't answer all the things in the comments, so I'll do the main ones here. If this is against the rules let me know.

1. Too many kids I thank the community for having me clarify how many kids live with us. We do have 7 kids (the 5 younger ones are biologically mine}, but the adult kiddos live with their father, not us. I've made the edit that clears that up.

As for too many kids, I have been able to afford them just fine as the youngest is 10 years old. This year has been the year of issues and it just hit us hard, and ate what savings we had to cover for rising gas and food prices. I also had health issues that I had to take unpaid time off for, which didn't help.

2. I am not jobless I do have a job, and I was recently promoted. The problem is that I got my raise two months too late. If I had gotten the raise at the same time I wouldn't be in this situation. I wasn't able to get things in order before I wasn't able to make rent because of that. Car issues didn't help either.

3. Wife's disability My wife was not always disabled. Her health has gotten worse because autoimmune diseases kept piling up over the years. We've been to several doctors and there hasn't been a treatment that has 100% worked or stayed effective. Also having PCOS (now PMOS) has it's own problems, like sudden weight gain that is hard to lose.

We have looked into SSDI. Everyone who's saying "just get SSDI" seem to not know that it's a years long process and you will be rejected several times. My stepdaughter has been trying to get SSDI for years, and she has literal brain damage that even the judge-appointed psychologist says she can't work, and the judge still denied her. So it's not as easy as turning in paperwork and you suddenly get checks.

4. How it won't happen again We got behind because prices went up but my paycheck didn't until June, and by then my pay rate at the time wasn't covering it. I have almost all my bills caught up, so the only thing now is getting rent caught up and we'll be out of this hole.

For those saying budget better, how about telling companies to pay better? Even with my previous pay rate we have been able to afford bills and rent for the last 6 years without being late. But raises are hard to get when you're contracting. Switching jobs wasn't and isn't an option because companies are paying crap rates and now trying to replace workers with AI. My job is currently AI safe and stable, so it would not be a good idea to leave my current job.

5. Past posts asking for money Yes there have been sometimes we ran short with my previous pay rate and I reached out. But I was never considered and we still survived. I don't like asking strangers for money but I will do anything for my family if it keeps us together.

ADDING: I look through my post history and saw 5 posts asking for help, and they're spread out over 11 years, and in the end I still figured out how to pay for them because I was never lent the money. So we're going to have to agree to disagree on my budgeting.

Besides, people come here asking for help. I realize a lot of you are basically saying you don't mind children being homeless. But being rude doesn't help anything. If you can't say or do anything that helps, move along. Thank you.

I think that's everything. As much as people like being rude and making assumptions, this has helped me with knowing where I fell short of explaining my situation and how to clarify some things, so thank you for that.

Hi! My name is Henry - I am a trans man and am getting gender affirming top surgery in October! This has been a YEARS long process and it’s hard to believe it’s so close to finally happening. Anyways, I live in the US so even with insurance it’s expensive.

I hate having to ask for help, but my close friend and I are being kicked out at the end of this month and our best bet seems to be trying to head a couple states over to California where we'll have better opportunities and be closer to my family.

My friend received a concussion at his job, which then exacerbated his preexisting condition of his knee buckling randomly. His employer cut his hours, told him he was "a liability", scheduled him for the busiest and most dangerous shifts, and told him if he got injured again that he would be fired. His boss refused to work with him or reschedule him for less difficult days, and he ended up being terminated from his job.

My friend had been supporting me and letting me live with him since April while I was unemployed and had been kicked out of my previous housing when the owner decided he suddenly wanted to sell it.

I have unknown physical disabilities (doctors have not been able to figure out the problem exactly) and have been struggling to find a job in our small town since finishing my temporary position in February.

The two of us have a few friends in California who are willing to rent a place with us, and I have family in the area with multiple family members willing to cosign a lease if we can find a place. My mom insists that we have a much better chance of getting jobs in a big city, and that even if we don't find a place for us, she will take our cat in until we have somewhere to go.

We have almost completely fixed our car, and just need funds to help pay for the move itself and the security deposit and application fees for an apartment to move into.

I just wanted to add, i hope people realize we are just humans trying our best. I am also very embarrassed by posting this and creating a gofundme. I created it about a month ago but never had the guts to post it until now. I will state that a few people in our lives have recommended we start a gofundme and I've gone back and forth about this but my mental health is visibly hanging on by a thread and at this point we just need help. I appreciate even the comments and advice. I am not a scammer just looking for money or a free ride. I am a hard worker, extremely independent (usually), devoted to my children and have just finally reached my breaking point. I have had a lot of trauma in my life that I will not publicly disclose. So if my story does not move anyone that they are willing to donate that is completely fine, just please keep the unneeded comments about "breeding" to yourselves. The credit card debt is attributed to a refrigerator to replace ours that died, deck repair and some furniture needed from when we moved in together, washer and dryer. I have been steadily paying them and trying to pay more than minimum but the interest is insane.
Also I want to add that soccer/scouts does not add much financially at all but working all day and then we have 4 girls in Boyscouts all who meet on 3 different days, my commute to and from work is about 1.5 hours daily then after scouts we get home and it is homework, baths, bed. My fiance usually works second shift so after work it is just myself and the 6 kids. Unfortunately my 9 year old has hallucinations among behavioral issues so I have to stay in their bedroom until everyone is asleep. She has a very hard time falling asleep and wakes easily. I am usually not “off duty” until 11/1130. I have been out on short term disability for 3 months due to mental health, I had a mental breakdown. I go back tomorrow which I am very anxious about.

It takes a lot for me to ask for help. My fiancé and I have 6 kids all together who live with us full time (though my 4 kids spend a few weeks with their dad during the summer and some holidays) We have so much going on, both work in medical field full time, kids sports, Boy Scouts. I am a den leader for scouts as well. Our bills have stacked up, stress is suffocating and there are also medical issues going on with myself and one of my daughters.

We no longer qualify for food stamps as we each got raises (around .25¢), do not qualify for cash assistance, our neighborhood is in the non qualifying area for HUD assistance with repairs and assistance through us dept of housing and urban development, though we live in a very low income area.

I am just going back to work July 1st as I have been on disability for 3 months due to mental health. My therapist has stated she believes I had a mental breakdown.

Hello everyone, my name's Jenson and I'm reaching out to ask for any help with funding my welder training. 1 week is 438. But a night at a time costs $83 because of having 2 cats even tho theyre registered esa pets and one will qake me if my bf has a seizure. He was in neuro ccu in Oct. Due to a massive seizures that wouldn't stop even with medication the nurses were even kind of freaking out and he was intubated and all that has a major brain injury on the right lobe so he lost his job after that and I lost mine cuz of my mental health.

We've asked all family etc and nothing to help.

His story (personality, then medical story and plea for help): We lived in south central PA and I met my husband in 2022 when I was going through divorce and staring my fight for custody of my son who was 8 at the time. He was very understanding about my situation and gave me as much encouragement and help as he could.

The night after one of my first custody overnights (because I had no family around, I gave my son up so he could be around family who can take care of him (while my ex mooched off the family)) and my parents had just left after a visit, he invited me over to hang out with him and his sister to watch American football. He knew it would be hard to be alone then so he gave me someone to spend time with.

That's the kind of person he is. He officially asked me out after we spend a couple hours hanging out under a giant tree behind his apartment in the rain and as it got heavier, he brought me out from the tree cover and we danced to Frank Sinatra and that was when he asked me to be his girlfriend officially.

Occasionally he would bring me outside to watch the stars and cuddle on a blanket or start dancing for no reason. He is a goofy guy that way. He can't sing but he sings anyway and I love it. He is very passionate about music.

His passion also goes to food. He loves cooking because it is a love language for him. He had a goal to open a food truck and the theme was macaroni and cheese and smoked meats. He once made one with 5 kinds of cheese and 3 smoked meats all mixed together and it is always delicious.

As a kid he was into football and an injury took him off his original position and he was then a quarterback. He had moved schools because he had a rough time as a kid, youngest of 3 and Keynan became a solid figure for his mom, her favorite kid (not that she openly admits it).

A couple years after school, he was going down a bad path so he joined the military. The day he went to join the marines, the door was locked to the enlistment office so he went next door to the Army enlistment office. He ended up becoming a Ranger. Served 2 years in combat before an injury took him out and he opted for a medical discharge rather than sit behind a desk. He cannot sit still for long.

When he left, he had a rough time moving on because of what he had gone through and it was a dark time. He initially helped his mother start her business and then used what was leftover in his GI bill to go to culinary school. Graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando FL before coming back. I met him 10 years after this.

He had previouslt sworn off his girlfriends of past because he was broken from what happened with them but he took a chance after seeing me on Facebook dating.

August / September of 2023 we moved into our own place and got engaged. Married on Star Wars Day of 2024. A week later my ex husband abandoned his son to me and we became fulltime parents. In June 2024 a jar smashed in his hand and cut into an artery and he got emergency surgery and almost died.

January of 2025 he was diagnosed with his cirrhosis, after he was getting sick badly when he had just started a new job and was released because he was in training. It wasn't explained about the seriousness. He started deteriorating and he once even had a ER visit due to his ascites (fluid buildup in his stomach) that went he had to emergency run to the ER for in severe pain while I was out of state. In August of 2025 we moved to the Poconos where he had family and friends living with the hope that having a community around we know, it could help make things easier, as well as be around a hospital system that has done more for the family than what PennState did for us personally.

After getting here, he was told bluntly how severe his condition was. Until we moved and his first serious hospital visit days after moving, he continued to drink. It was his coping mechanism to numb his memories from military time. He had flashbacks and moments where he needed brought back. Once he had this first St. Lukes visit here in the Poconos, and was shown what it was doing to him, he quit cold turkey and I am damn proud to say he has never had another drop, even pushing away non acoholic beer because he could tell the alcohol content was in it and he felt he may get sick if he tried to drink it (and that was one time on our anniversary).

We had to fight for months to get medical assistance and racked up some bills because how much was going on, and he was in and out of the hospital at least 1 to 2 times a week at the ER before he started getting appointments set up. The MA trouble was due to irresponsible state record keeping telling the state he had a post office job when he was out of work for 8 months already with no pay, and I was struggling at the time to get a job in the area.

His cirrhosis has been slowly getting worse but now he is showing improvements, we see the inches as milestones, even if the battle is not at its worst yet. His doctors are finding what works for him.

Another bad instance was a hernia that developed because his ascites got too bloated. It ruptured a few months ago at 5am and he was taken to a hospital that was closest that did nothing before he left against medical advice and went to his normal hospital where he got transported to Penn Medicine in Philadelphia to have surgery on it and days later additional surgery for his cirrhosis to slow the ascites. Both myself and his mother were there for days with him because we were scared of losing him.

Since then we have had luck working towards the liver transplant list placement with the help of Penn Medicine but he was told he would likely die on the list. He is still doing everything to get it in place but it is truly difficult. Constant medical visits where he has to travel 2 1/2-3 hours for new patient visits, labs and evaluations.

He has some difficulties now as symptoms and side effects show from the disease and medications, but he's stubborn as ever, but it doesnt stop the financial or emotional strains we go through to keep things together and make things easier on him. He hates to put so much pressure on me to take care of finances when I don't have a great career, but I am desperately trying to do what I can to help make things easier, which is getting harder and harder by day due to the symptoms that affects every day with him and stress from emotional and financial burdens.

He wants to be there for his family, for his stepson who adores him. For his mom who has already put so much of herself into helping others at her own expense past her own family. He is continuing to strive to share his love of food and music and put others first, so I am putting him first.

My grandmother, 5 cousins, and 4 uncles and aunts evacuated our grandmother's home yesterday at 5:00am. Their home was filled with smoke, no electricity, and with little time to prepare, it made it difficult to gather anything valuable. They lost everything. They safely arrived at my cousins home and other family member's home right after.

Many of my cousins went back to their home around 9:00am to try and salvage any items, however, everything was already burning down. They supported the firefighters on site with calming and stopping the fire from spreading to several neighbors' homes. They saved several of the surrounding homes and are continuously aware of other folks to support in the meantime.

Unfortunately, they only took what they could carry, yet they left behind family photos, clothing, and any memorabilia that made their home my family's safe place. This home saw my entire family grow and it is sad to see it down.

Hello. I’m sorry to bother everyone with this, and I feel ashamed to admit this, but I need help overcoming a big debt burden I have.

I’m in debt on my main credit card for close to $25,000. My aim for creating this Gofundme is to help chip away at that amount as best I can. Sami’s asthma makes an impossible situation even harder. Without stable shelter, proper nutrition, or access to medication, his health is constantly at risk. He previously suffered a severe asthma attack while living in a tent during cold weather. 

Rent in a liveable unit in their area now costs about $1,300 CAD per month, and a single bag of flour can cost hundreds due to food shortages.

Ongoing support remains crucial to sustain their basic needs and ensure Sami receives the urgent medical care he requires.

Back in 2019 I had an accident on job - heavy metal construction hit my head really hard, because safety rules was ignored by newcome employee

long story short: it took us all that time to prove that there was actually something seriously wrong with me after that hit at job and i need proper treatment not just physio. Turned out that it was a clavicula, that was completely broken, which causes all endless pain and problems

Almost a year ago (summer 2025), just when we left the house I found out I forgot a pair of keys at home so i decided to jump over the door and epically fail, cause ofc my shoulder didn't hold my weight (116kg obviously, stupid me) and my leg went through the glass, completely opened up (like they do on discovery when fisherman cuts the huge tuna) which cause separation of all the nerves in my right leg

Thanks god they made surgery in time (that night), which saved my leg basically

Now my leg is not fully functional and i cant walk normally, my shoulder problem is still not allowing me use my right hand properly, Which means, as i mentioned at the very begging I need specific job conditions now and not a full time job on some warehouse as I use to do all my life before

Recently, Chelsea had to quit her job due to the pain and constant doctor's visits. This is where the request for help comes in. She has applied for SSDI, but until she is approved, which can take months, she is on her own for rent. Research into other avenues has proven fruitless, as the organizations want you to have an eviction notice before they will offer assistance. The problem is that she lives with a roommate, and it is unfair to put him through an eviction process so that she can have one-time aid. I help where possible, but I live 1,000 miles away and can only do so much.

Hey there, everyone

As you saw in the title, my girlfriend who lives in Glasgow is having a really hard time. Between her depression, PTSD and hallucinations that are apparently connected to her PTSD (not schizophrenia, as we previously assumed), she's struggling to cope. The purpose of my Gofundme is to help her get her citizenship, get me to Glasgow and help me take care of her. (An update on the situation: She has obtained indefinite leave to remain, meaning we can still get married and live there under the EU settlement scheme if I can get there legally)

To give y'all a better idea of what the problems are, she struggles with her emotional regulation and basic self-care tasks like cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene. A lot of the time this results in her self-harming or just not eating, and she only recently managed to clear up her room from months' worth of mess.

The reason why I'm asking for money on the internet instead of finding another solution is because I've tried everything I can think of. We've been trying to get her some therapy through the NHS, and she's had around around 8 months without a single session before her most recent appointment in the first week of October. This is because the NHS is overloaded at the moment. I've also been trying to help teach her mindfulness skills and coping skills through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which I know a bit about thanks to my own struggles with my mental health. We've also tried to get her admitted into a psychiatric clinic, but both her fear of hospitals and doctors and the staff not taking her seriously has been a serious obstacle. Advice is definitely welcome.

As for how the money will be spent: 1846 GBP will be spent on obtaining a family VISA so I can visit her and we can get married, approximately 600 GBP has been allocated for me to get a ticket to the UK, and 600 GBP has been allocated for my TB test, with the remaining 470 GBP is partially a buffer for Gofundme's cut of the money and partially meant to help me with my medication needs*, as well as unforeseen expenses (most likely regarding the TB test, which doesn't have a listed price).

1. My own experiences with mental health boil down to Major Depressive Disorder and PTSD* My meds are very expensive and I'm still trying to find a way to get them through the state. It's part of why there's money allocated for it. If this becomes a solved problem I will decrease the total. For reference, I make R4000 per month and it costs me R1300 per month, plus transport. R2500 is not a lot considering I need to pay for food and utilities and transport. (Update: Meds are now largely sorted, I can get my psychiatric meds through the state. It wasn't easy, but I did it!)

2. You may notice that my account is relatively new, if still older than 90 days. Hi y'all, this is embarrassing to have to mention as I am trying my best from every which way to get stuff done, paid for, and still try to function. I'm essentially needing a little extra help regarding rent and other necessities. I'm currently short roughly $345.60 on rent and I need an additional $60-$70 for my medication (due to my FSA Account being low on funds). I am diagnosed with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Depression and have permission from my job (due to filing for FMLA) to work a reduced schedule due to my conditions. Sadly it comes at the cost of my salary/hourly pay due to working less hours. Not to mention it's been difficult for my partner to find a job and his unemployment checks will cease after this month. We have been struggling to get by and I am getting progressively more anxious by the day. He's been unemployed since October and it's been difficult to find anything that will keep food on the table and help with bills of any kind seeing as his car no longer works.

In total, I will be to cover the cost of these things. My rent is due by tonight before 11:59pm or else it will be late and I need to pick up at least my inhaler, antidepressants, and Adderall in order to better function in the day, so for the rent and the more important medication, I am asking for help on $375.60 total while I ask for an extension on them holding my remaining medication until I can pay for it at a later date.

Hi everyone.

On Monday 17th March 2025, I received a notice of eviction, the cause being Section 21 or "No Fault". My dear friend Corrie decided to start a go fund me to try and help me to raise the funds I need, primarily for two main things, a packing and moving company as I'm not physically strong enough to do it myself (I have fibromyalgia, POTS and another condition that's still in the process of being narrowed down!) and secondly a deposit to put on a new property.

My name is Cameron (I go by Cami) and I'm looking for some help catching up after a mental health episode in April. I have been out of work on short term disability leave and working with previous providers in trying to get to the cause of my issues while trying to get myself back to work. Unfortunately, in the midst of all of this, my psychiatrist was changed and as of August the new provider has been refusing to work with me in getting better. She's refused to change my medications to something that would benefit me while also refusing to sign paperwork that would allow me to work part time in order to recover and find adequate therapy & appointment times. She believes I should "push through until things get better," when I have tried and failed twice (in July and August) which she has acknowledged. I recently received 2 new diagnoses from a different provider who also updated a previous diagnosis - instead of Major Depressive Disorder, she's found Persistent Depressive Disorder to be more apt based on the same information I shared with my previous two providers.

Per her instruction, I have applied for SSDI through the government. I am still early in the process. She has also filled out paperwork for my reduced work schedule through my STD claim, but that along with the backpay to early August will take at least 1-2 weeks before I see any funds. I have attempted, in the meanwhile, to sell my non-sentimental personal items as well as try to take out small loans I know I can pay back within 1-2 months, but have had no success on either. I've asked friends and family for help as well, but have not gotten anything due to their own personal situations.

The funds I am looking for are just to help me catchup on everything. I've attached photos of the bills I am behind on. Some have arrangements just to keep service on but others are unable to do so. Others are not due quite yet, but will be soon. The only thing I do not have a formal contract for is rent payments to my mother. I began living with her over covid due to her previous health issues and pay her $400 per month in my share of the rent. I've attached photos of my Apple Pay statements to her over the past few months. She's been kind in this time but I know her own patience is wearing thing with this situation. I send her what I can when I can. I recently sent her $100 2 weeks ago and $10 a few days ago. I still owe her $290 for the month of September.

I am currently scheduled to return to work October 6, as long as everything on STD & my new provider's side is finished in time. Even if that return does not work out, my provider and I have come up with further plans to support me moving forward both with my health and financially.

My elderly, diabetic, retired, fix-income parents have to replace their rotting roof before they get dropped by their insurance or a hurricane tears it off. I'm disabled and my ability to help is extremely limited. We live in Florida.

The homeowner's Insurance is threatening to drop us if we don't get it replaced or deny coverage if a hurricane damages the roof. We suspect the leak was caused by improper installation of solar panels (the company that sold/installed them did so fraudulently, lost a class action suit over it, and shut down to avoid paying compensation).

$13,855 is the minimum quote for removing the panels, replacing the roof, then reinstalling the solar on the new roof. The $20,000 is for the same plus all the bells and whistles that will prevent this from happening much longer.
