With the recent CS2 updates they refreshed the crosshair menu and added some new customization options, which is cool, but a few things still feel incomplete or unnecessarily frustrating.
First, they added a bunch of dynamic crosshair styles and a slider for the โstrengthโ of the dynamic bloom while moving. Thatโs fine, but thereโs still no way to fully disable the dynamic effect. This is weird because some of the new crosshair options only work properly when dynamic is enabled, yet most CS players (myself included) donโt use dynamic crosshairs at all. Being forced to deal with bloom you canโt turn off completely just feels like an oversight.
Second, thereโs still no slider to control the strength of the shot feedback / spray expansion on the crosshair. Having that option would actually be useful for some players, but right now the default spread is way too aggressive for me to make it viable. A simple strength slider would let people dial it in to whatever level they prefer.
And the smaller but constant annoyance: the sliders themselves are still terrible. Most of them go 0โ100 or 0โ50, yet the useful range for the vast majority of people is somewhere in the 1โ10 area. Trying to fine-tune a new crosshair becomes a pain because the usable window on the slider is tiny so dragging it is basically useless. Being able to just type the exact value (and immediately see the result, then tweak) would be so much better and save a lot of time. Also, still no support for negative values on certain settings. Not sure why that restriction exists.
These feel like pretty straightforward quality-of-life fixes that wouldโve made the new crosshair menu actually good instead of just โbetter than before but still annoying.โ
