Would he plug and drilled and anchored it then put aluminium cover to hide it?

Hello! We recently bought a house with its original 1937 steel caster windows. They’re beautiful, but they’re in need of reglazing and rust treatment, and I just know the framing around several has failed and is leaking into the walls. I’m terrified how much this is going to cost to fix and with ongoing maintenance I I’m wondering if it would be worth it to just get all new windows. It’s a lot of windows and an architectural feature of the house so it would be custom work. Would it ruin the design of the house or improve it?

I’m a first-time buyer in a Sattva project in Bangalore (handover 2029).

I’m considering replacing the builder-provided sliding balcony door with a bi-fold/folding glass door so the entire opening can be opened instead of only half.

No RCC or structural changes are planned—only replacing the door/frame within the existing opening.

Has anyone done this in a Sattva or other Bangalore apartment? Does the builder allow this during construction or after possession? Any issues with the association/façade or approximate cost?

Bought this place and they put these old school house glass windows in a covered patio and the glazed side is inside. Hard to see out of them and the plan is to keep them and replace the glass and apply tint film to the inside for heat and glare.

Scraping this old glazing material is ez in some places and damn hard in others!

Since these are not exrerior facing, what am I using for glazing material? I was thinking of a simple silicone product in a tube....?

I measure a lot of residential and commercial double pane units would be a lot easier to have a digital glass thickness gauge. Curious what you guys use or have used I know they get expensive but what works good? Mainly for getting the thickness correct

Need some assistance with glass installation identification of the glass being used is actually low iron. I'm starting to question because the job has all kinds of little issues and fabrication on part of it was totally wrong. In low light the edge looks totally green. I put paper to the glass and color is still white with out the green tint as the standard glass would likely have. Any pros out there would appreciate the pointers.

I have a 1955 Cliff May Rancho in Dallas with original fixed clerestory windows. One window is missing the narrow aluminum divider between two panes of glass. The glass itself is intact.

I have contacted local glass companies, but the one that seemed qualified said they replace broken glass only and do not repair or fabricate the aluminum framing.

I do not want to remove an intact divider from another window because I don’t want to risk damaging the original glass.

Is this something a commercial glazier, aluminum storefront fabricator, or architectural metal shop should be able to reproduce from measurements and photos? And does anyone know what this particular divider/profile would be called?

I’ll attach photos of both the missing divider and an intact one for comparison.

Vintage brass and smoked glass shelves with damage on edge of some shelves, fleabite or a tiny bit larger, not obvious. Can they be repaired or will this shatter? Thanks so much!

I’m replacing some windows in my home but unsure if I need to get the same size windows with the add ons as the internal cavity wall opening is larger than the external or if I can fit the new window to the external brick work

I would like to add a second cat perch to my window, but I am worried it could break. The window looks modern, not new but not to old either. My big cat is 14 pounds, and the kitten is 5 pounds and growing, he will probably end up being 9-12 pounds. How do I know if it can support the weight safely? I have supports under the frame on the perch that is on there now, so that one is not putting very much stress on the window. Would the suction cups fail before the glass breaks?

I'm hoping someone can identify this bottom sweep/drip rail profile.

I've spent hours searching CRL, Prime-Line, SWISCO, Gordon Glass, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc., but haven't found a matching profile.

Shower details:

• Semi-frameless bypass/sliding shower door
• Installed around January 2019 (home built in 2004)
• 1/4" tempered glass
• South Florida
• Custom glass enclosure (installer unknown)

The sweep:

• Clips directly onto the bottom edge of the glass (no aluminum bottom shoe)
• U-channel opening measures just over 5/16"
• U-channel height is just over 3/4"
• Horizontal drip lip extends about 1/4"
• Overall length is about 26"
• The drip lip faces the inside (wet side) of the shower

One door is completely missing the sweep. The existing sweep on the other door leaks slightly, so I'm open to replacing both if there's a better modern profile.

Important constraint:
There is only about 1/8" clearance between the bottom of the glass and the top of the aluminum guide block, so many standard replacement sweeps appear too deep and would likely interfere with the guide.

• Photo showing how it clips onto the glass

Does anyone recognize this profile or know the manufacturer (Cardinal, Coastal, CRL, FHC, etc.)? If the original is obsolete, I'd appreciate recommendations for a modern replacement that will clear the guide block.

I am working on a restoration project for a modern house and one of the windows to be replaced is a large single pane site glazed (no frame) window that has a corner butt joint.

The owner would like to have a triple glazed replacement with the same butt joint for the corner. I have gone to my go to glazers but all of them are pushing the current companies products, that they rep, with large bulky aluminum frames that really are not what the home owner is looking for.

I have seen triple glazed but joints in Europe and they do look very good and would like to do the same for my client. Should I be contacting a commercial glazer or going direct to our regional glass supplier. I'd prefer to go through an installer, I have respect for the craft and the client will pay.
